JoJo Siwa drops hint over future with Chris Hughes as she marks career milestone

Daily Mirror04-05-2025
JoJo Siwa grew close to Chris Hughes whilst both housemates on Celebrity Big Brother last month and their relationship has continued to attract attention since the final
Former housemate JoJo Siwa has teased over her relationship with Chris Hughes following their time on Celebrity Big Brother together. She's expressed hope about the future whilst addressing fan reaction to a post this weekend.
JoJo, 21, and Chris, 32, met on the ITV show last month. The pair spent three weeks together in the Big Brother house and grew close whilst housemates on the reality TV show before both evicted in the final just over a week ago.

Since then, JoJo - who split from her partner Kath Ebbs at a wrap party for the show - has faced questions over her relationship with Chris. She said on This Morning this week that it is "platonic" between them and in the same interview Chris suggested that they have a "soulmate friendship".

More recently, JoJo paid tribute to Chris this weekend at an event organised by Stanford University 's Speakers Bureau. Whilst at A Night with Jojo Siwa yesterday, the singer teased that he has become as a "vital part" of her life.
Following the event at the university in the US, JoJo posted about the experience on TikTok this morning. She then responded to several reactions from fans who mentioned Chris in the comments section of her post on the platform. Teasing over the future, JoJo appeared to express hope that they get to work together on a spin-off TV show moving forward.
JoJo first posted footage of herself dancing along to Natasha Bedingfield 's Unwritten earlier today. Over the video, she wrote in a message to fans on it: "Vibes because I just got home from giving a speech at STANFORD??????"
She wrote in the caption: "Wowwwww thank you for having me Stanford! I don't know whose idea it was, but sure did make my night (and life) extra special!!… we had a great chat and talked about just about everything… I'm sure there's gonna be loads of videos posted from there. Let me know if you see them!!:)"
One fan reacted in the comments: "You're glowing Joelle, so happy!!! Loved the speech you gave about Chris. We're all rooting for you both." It prompted a response from JoJo, who wrote beside an emoji depicting hearts: "Thank you." Someone else said: "The UK is rooting for you and Mr Hughes JoJo." JoJo responded to them with three heart emojis.

JoJo also hinted that a TV spin-off could happen in the future. It came in response to a fan who commented on the post this weekend: "JOJO AND CHRIS SPIN OFF." JoJo replied with an emoji depicting two hands together, which can be used to represent praying.
The post comes after JoJo attended the Stanford University event yesterday. The former Dance Moms star spoke about various topics, including her career and having opened up about her gender identity in the Big Brother house, which she has continued to discuss since leaving the show.

Footage shared on social media has also shown JoJo paying tribute to Love Island finalist Chris at the occasion. Asked how she sees their relationship progressing, JoJo said whilst at the event: "We have the absolute most fun together. He is an absolute gem that has come into my life."
She added: "Genuinely, one thing that I love so much about him, is he has zero ego. He's a really incredible sweet man." JoJo went on to share: "I told him this on the last night, maybe it wasn't the last night but [sometime]. I said 'you're a vital part of my life and I didn't realise I was missing, but I'm happy that I don't have to anymore'."
Further speaking about Chris, she told the audence: "He's an awesome guy and I think he'll be around for a very long time [...] He's a keeper. We'll keep him around. We'll see."

Friends star Matthew Perry's onscreen mum tried to help as he succumbed to drug addiction

Friends and co-stars speak candidly about the friend they all lost in a heart wrenching new ITV documentary, Matthew Perry: A Hollywood Tragedy Matthew Perry 's on-screen mum Morgan Fairchild has revealed she tried to help him beat his addiction to drugs. ‌ In a moving documentary about the Friends star's mental health battles, Morgan and other pals speak candidly about the actor, who found global fame as joker Chandler Bing. ‌ Morgan, who played Chandler's mum Nora, says: 'I have flashbacks of that young man who would come bounding over on set like a big puppy dog, that's how I remember him. ‌ "I tried to reach out a little bit and let him know I was there for him, because I have had other people in my life who have had trouble with alcohol or drugs. I said, 'I'm here to talk if you would like to'.' Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman adds: 'I lost a friend in multiple ways. What's amazing is the outpouring from the fans who lost a friend too.' ‌ Matthew drowned in the spa bath at his Los Angeles home last October at the age of 54. After many years battling addictions to alcohol and drugs, he had fallen victim to a ketamine habit. There was an outpouring of grief from fans across the world, as well as co-stars including Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow. In documentary Matthew Perry: A Hollywood Tragedy, Morgan says: 'I remember when Matthew was first starting to go public with some of his issues. I was terribly proud of him.' ‌ Morgan, 75, also known for 80s US soap Falcon Crest, adds: 'It's hard to admit you've got any problem. He also wanted to help other people who were also struggling. Even in the midst of his own pain, he tried to reach out to other people.' The show also features updates on the trials of those allegedly involved in supplying drugs to Matthew. Five people were charged, including two doctors, as well as Matthew's PA Kenneth Iwamasa, who found him dead. ‌ Other celebrity contributors, meanwhile, include Simpsons voice Hank Azaria, who says Matthew helped him through his own battle with alcohol. Hank says: 'Matthew was the first friend I made in LA. I was 21, he was 16. We did a pilot that never saw the light of day. We became really good friends. We were like brothers for a long time.' He adds: 'The night I went into AA, Matthew brought me in. The first year I was sober we went to meetings together and he was a great support. He was so caring and giving and wise and he totally helped me get sober. "Most nights spent with Matthew you were crying laughing by the end. I really loved him. A lot of us who loved him felt like we lost him to drugs and alcohol a long time ago.' Morgan says Matthew's acting touched people 'all over the world'. She says: 'His legacy will be one of hope and joy and friendship and love.' Matthew Perry: A Hollywood Tragedy, Monday 18th August, ITV1 and ITVX at 9pm.

Netflix adds 'must watch' British TV comedy hailed as 'brilliant' by viewers

The ITV sitcom first streamed on ITV2 with fans already calling for Netflix to make the fifth series available Netflix has recently added a new British TV comedy show, with viewers already raving about the "brilliant" programme. The show has left many in stitches, and been labelled as a must-watch for comedy buffs. ‌ Plebs, which originated on ITV, has been praised by viewers as the "funniest British TV comedy ever made" as people rush to binge-watch it. The programme is currently sitting in third place on Netflix's top 10 ranking of most popular television shows. ‌ The ITV sitcom has a total of five series to binge, however only the first four are currently on Netflix. Fans have already called for the fifth series to be added. ‌ Plebs became a hit on ITV2 when it aired, with surprise guest stars that included the likes of Danny Dyer as Cassius the Gladiator. The show concluded in 2022 with a special feature-length Christmas episode, which saw the boys enlist in the army during peace time, before war broke out, sending them to the front line to fight for a cause they did not believe in. ‌ Fans have already taken to google to leave good reviews, with one person describing it as "the funniest, most brilliantly written comedy ever made". They added: "It's frustrating that it feels totally underrated. The characters are all so funny in their own right and the stories in each episode are final feature length film had us in tears as well as in stitches! Brilliant!! We will miss it so much!!" Someone else echoed: "Just finished binge watching the whole show and I loved it! Hate I found it so late in the game. It's a must watch!" ‌ "I've watched every episode of this," wrote another fan. "I think it's brilliant. Clever how it's an ancient setting but modern humour. Hope they make a season 6." The show has been described as a crossover between Horrible Histories and The Inbetweeners, full of juvenile humour which focuses on a group of unfortunate pals living circa 26BC amid the Roman Empire. ‌ Plebs follows the three unlucky lads, Marcus (Tom Rosenthal), Stylax (Joel Fry) and their house-slave Grumio (Ryan Sampson) as they take on the big city of Rome. Aside from all the chaos and hilarity throughout, you could also learn a thing or two about the ancient Romans. The show takes its history seriously, with esteemed historian Mary Beard said to be credited as an adviser on the show. ‌ However not everyone had glowing reviews, as some felt the show lost its spark by time the fourth series came along. One person wrote: "Excellent show! Belly laughs through the first three series'. Fell flat in the fourth series. Replacing the charm of Stylax with the horrible smarm of Jason was a huge huge mistake." "Its bonkers and there are some moments where it's far too reliant on second hand embarrasment, but it's still a good laugh and still quite a novel concept," another wrote.

'I hate modern dating after hosting one of Netflix's biggest ever shows'

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video In a world of reality TV showmances, wannabe influencers and frustratingly toxic men, Love Is Blind UK hosts Emma and Matt Willis are a breath of fresh air amid the deluge of dating shows. I was completely charmed by the celebrity couple last year when I interviewed them for the first season of the long-awaited UK spin-off of one of Netflix's most popular reality shows. They were endearingly nervous about their debut as a married couple helming a show about finding love, shared playful quips about what to order for lunch and had a quiet confidence that proved their real-life and on-screen chemistry. When I met up with them again this year for Metro to discuss season 2, which launches today, the nerves had evaporated, but all the charm had, happily, stayed. For those not in the know, the premise of the hit reality show is all about proving that lasting love is so much more than skin deep. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your show in the link we'll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you. So, 30 people ready for marriage date each other in 'pods' for a week, getting to know each other from behind a wall without seeing each other, and the lucky couples who make a connection get engaged. By the end of the experiment, after meeting one another in the flesh and spending time together in the outside world, they must decide whether they will say 'I do' at the altar. Throughout the process, our trusty co-hosts jet in and out to guide them through from one stage to the next. As we kick off our chat about their return, the 17 years of marriage between the Big Brother presenter and Busted star shines through when I point out their matching blue clothes. 'Last year, we were quite nervous. This year, we were much more relaxed,' Emma says about returning to the show. They were well aware of the tough task ahead of them when launching the latest spin-off (there are currently eight international versions). 'We really wanted the UK one to be as good as all of the others and I think it surpassed our expectations, because it had everything. 'It had heart, it had a very British sense of humour,' the TV host adds, with hopes that season two meets the high standard season one set for fans. The British power couple, who share three children, have had their ups and downs over the years, but if hosting Love Is Blind has made them 'grateful' for one thing, it is that they met in the early 2000s before online dating took off. 'The one thing I've taken [from hosting the show] – and it's not so much a reflection on our relationship, but a reflection on the world of dating generally – is, I'm really glad I'm not single,' Emma says. 'I wouldn't want to be on dating apps. I know a lot of people on them, and they just moan about them all the time. I think I'd get so frustrated with doing everything on a device.' The idea of meeting organically (a more and more foreign concept for Gen Z) is what attracted them to this show in the first place. 'I think that is a whole world better than trying to navigate [the] beginning of a relationship through a phone, which must be so difficult,' Emma adds. Matt agrees: 'Absolutely, I think messages can get so misconstrued.' When I ask them about their dating app green and red flags, we briefly go on a side tangent about the turn-off factor of posting a photo of yourself holding a fish (it's a whole thing) to a completely baffled Emma. As such, Matt decides a fish picture 'doesn't sound cool' while Emma ponders hers would 'probably be an overly posed picture'. 'I think if it were someone in a pair of shorts and nothing else… I'm getting the ick just thinking about it,' she jokes. So, naturally, I ask if the show had been around when they were single, would they have gone on it – and their answers explained a lot about why they are such a perfect fit. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Emma called the process 'fantastic' but had one caveat. 'I don't know if I could get married after six weeks because I'm a chronic overthinker and I like to know everything,' she admits with a wry smile. Matt, on the other hand, is ready to leap headfirst, joking, 'I could. I'd be like, 'Let's do it.'' He shares: 'I think it'd be really fun to see what that experience is like, talking to someone and doing the experiment. I think it'd be such an exciting thing to do.' Lucky for them, neither has to worry about getting hitched to a near-stranger in six weeks or navigating the treacherous world of Tinder. They'll happily watch on, however. Season one saw plenty of highs and lows, with fan-favourite couple Bobby and Jasmine recently announcing they're expecting their first child. It's clear both Emma and Matt are delighted, with the former recalling that the loved-up pair were 'hook, line and sinker from the beginning', and she could tell they were 'totally smitten' right up to the reunion. Matt adds he's 'so stoked for them'. Of course, the premiere season also included some controversial characters, not least Sam, who was briefly engaged to Nicole (now married to Benaiah), who became the latest 'toxic' reality TV man to spark concerned fan discourse. Viewers can expect different things from the new episodes, Emma teases. 'I think they're a really likeable cast. There's not really any divisive characters, I don't think. Obviously, Sam last year was quite a divisive character. I don't think we have a Sam,' she says. Love Is Blind marks the latest show the pair have jointly tackled in recent years, in addition to their candid therapy docuseries, Change Your Mind, Change Your Life. While working together might be out of the question for some couples, that's not the case for these two. Matt explains: '[I love] everything about [my] job, but then I always have to be away from Emma, away from the family. So the chance to work with her is brilliant. 'I've always been jealous of her job. I've been in a sweaty tour bus with stinky boys. This is way more fun, got a glam squad now, love it.' As for what's next, Emma is clearly enthusiastic about the future of their professional partnership, saying they're ready to do 'eight more seasons' of Love Is Blind. But they have other ideas brewing as well. 'I'd like to do something adventurous. I don't know if it's a travel show – just some kind of adventure. I love shows like Race Across the World. I think that's so much fun, but there's a point to it,' Emma says. More Trending As in sync as ever, Matt agrees. Who knows what's next for this dynamic duo, who are proving themselves to be a formidable force on British reality TV. For now, however, they have a brand new cohort of unlucky-in-love singles to welcome to the pods. So, let the blush-inducing courtship commence. The first four episodes of Love Is Blind UK season two are out now. Got a story?
