
OYO to enter QSR space, expects F&B to contribute 5%-10% additional revenue
MUMBAI: Travel tech company OYO is entering into the good & beverage (F&B) business with in-house kitchens and Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) carts/lobby stores at its company-serviced hotels with a focus on Townhouse by OYO branded hotels. OYO is expecting F&B to contribute 5%-10% additional revenue at the hotel level on a stable state basis.
As part of this program, OYO said it will cover 1500 of their company-serviced hotels in FY26, providing guests with access to in-house kitchen services. These kitchens will allow guests to order meals seamlessly via online platforms, including OTAs and the OYO app, by selecting the "Kitchen Services" option.
In addition to in-house kitchens, OYO said it is also introducing QSR carts and lobby stores under the brand name 'Townhouse Cafe' offering ready-to-eat food options. The menu, as per Oyo, will focus on well-priced meals including regional cuisine and continental food options.
To test the concept, OYO launched a pilot program since January this year across 100 company-serviced hotels in select cities such as Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad and Bangalore.

To support this, OYO is developing a network of trusted F&B experts in key cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Indore, Kolkata, Jaipur, and Lucknow".

Oyo to expand to 300 cities by FY26, eyes doubling booking revenue
IPO-bound global travel tech platform Oyo on Friday said it plans to accelerate company-serviced hotel expansion in FY26. It expects to double the booking revenue from its company-serviced properties from 22 to 44 per cent in this period, while also increasing its presence from 124 cities to over 300 cities across India. Currently, the platform has more than 1,300 company-serviced hotels in the country, including Townhouse, Capital O, Palette and Townhouse Oak-branded hotels, the popular mid-segment brands for the company. It is eyeing 1,800 company-serviced hotels by FY26, compared to around 900 in FY25. Oyo is focusing on leisure cities, pilgrimage destinations and business corridors, where demand remains strong for expansion. A few cities in the pipeline include Mohali, Faridabad and Jalandhar in the north; Cuttack, Asansol and Darjeeling in the east; Mangalore, Kollam, Port Blair and Kasaragod in the south; and Bhilwara, Vapi, Junagarh and Jalgaon in the west, the company added. Speaking on the expansion plan, Varun Jain, Chief Operating Officer of the company, said: 'The programme is in line with Oyo's strategic focus for 2025 for the India market, which aims to drive profitability by enhancing the overall guest experience. These hotels record a higher customer rating of 4.6, compared to the overall average of 4.0. The occupancy rate of these hotels is also 2.7 times higher than other hotels. Their consistent focus on quality service also drives a repeat customer rate that is 1.3 times higher than the rest. The superior ratings reflect better service standards, well-maintained facilities and a seamless guest experience, which results in stronger guest loyalty and repeat stays in our hotels.' Oyo initially introduced company-serviced hotels in FY23. During that period, they contributed less than 2 per cent of its booking revenue.

Those in the queue include Oyo, Pride Hotels Group, and boutique brand LaRiSa Hotels & Resorts. Lemon Tree Hotels plans to list unit Fleur Hotels in the next two years, Patanjali Keswani, chairman and MD, told ET. Last year, Keswani had said that the chain will be debt-free when the listing reported on Thursday that hospitality chain Oyo approached five investment banks for a meeting with key shareholder SoftBank in London next month that could determine the company's way forward for an initial public offering (IPO). Also, Pride Hotels Group, which has a presence in Delhi's Aerocity area, and recently expanded its footprint in Gujarat, through new signings in Gandhinagar and Surat, has begun initial groundwork for an IPO, said people familiar with the company declined to comment. Pride Hotels Group has over 60 hotels comprising over 5,500 keys across hospitality chain LaRiSa Hotels & Resorts is also aiming to go public, director Randhir Narayan told ET. The chain operates about 32 hotels comprising around 1,100 brands include LaRiSa Resorts, AM Hotel Kollection and 8fold by LaRiSa. The chain also does third-party hotel property management through its AM Hotel Kollection brand."The business is profitable, cash flow is there, and every month, we are trying to bring to the market a rebranded or a conversion hotel from our portfolio," said Narayan. "The plan is to (launch the) IPO and our timeframe is as soon as possible. We are hopeful that sometime this year it should come to fruition."Brookfield Asset Management-owned The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, which concluded its IPO on May 28, will get listed on June April, Prestige Hospitality Ventures Ltd, a wholly-owned unit of property developer Prestige Estates Projects Ltd, filed a draft prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) to raise up to Rs 2,700 crore through an IPO, while Travel Food Services, with a strong presence in India's airport food and lounge sector, secured Sebi nod in April for a Rs 2,000 crore November, Brigade Hotel Ventures, a wholly-owned unit of Brigade Enterprises, submitted a draft prospectus to Sebi for a Rs 900-crore IPO.
