Appointment orders handed over to 39 students from Project-Affected Villages

NLC India Limited (NLCIL) on Tuesday handed over appointment orders to 39 students, who had completed diploma courses in Mining Engineering from Annamalai University. The students are from Project Affected Villages (PAP) in Cuddalore district.
According to a press release, the university had signed a memorandum of understanding with NLCIL for a two-year apprenticeship training with a stipend to the students completing the course at the company besides extending employment for the deserving candidates.
C.G. Saravanan, Director, Mining Engineering programme, Annamalai University said that as many as 220 students have completed industrial training at NLCIL and more than 100 have got permanent placements in various posts like Surveyor, Overman and Sirdar.
NLCIL also inaugurated the newly-established engineering lab and link road on the university premises under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. NLCIL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Prasanna Kumar Motupalli and Director (Human Resources) Samir Swarup were present.

To convey its greatness and the challenges to students, the Tamil Virtual Academy, in collaboration with the Higher Education Department, has been conducting the Great Tamil Dream Heritage and Culture Promotion Programme in previous years. Following the Tamil Nadu CM's annual programme announcement, this programme is being conducted among college students on behalf of the Higher Education Department and the Directorate of Collegiate Education.' Siddha doctor K Sivaraman delivered a special lecture, stating, 'This programme aims to create awareness among college students about Tamil heritage, culture, ancient traditions, linguistic excellence, equality, and socio-economic progress, guiding Tamil youth towards their future goals and building a prosperous society. From the Sangam era, Tamil society has excelled in arts, literature, and science. Through the Thirukkural, poet-saint Thiruvalluvar taught the world about equality over 2,000 years ago. Ancient Tamil society was an advanced one, particularly excelling in medicine and education." 'In Keezhadi excavation, inscriptions have been found on pottery, suggesting that farmers, potters, and artisans were all part of a literate society. As descendants of such a refined civilisation, it is our duty to pass on the pride of the Tamil language to future generations.' he added The programme was also addressed by Aranga Paari, Head of the Department of Indian Languages at the University. ₹1 lakh assistance provided to 178 Civil Services aspirants from Telangana preparing for UPSC Mains exam 2025

Aspirants from Telangana who cleared Civil Services Examination (Preliminary) 2025 held by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and preparing for the Main examination, were provided with ₹1 lakh financial assistance under Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhaya Hastham launched by the State government. On Monday (August 11, 2025), 178 aspirants were handed over the cheques at a programme held in Hyderabad. Government run Singareni Collieries Coal Limited (SCCL) provided the assistance, from its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund. Besides this, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that candidates who clear the Mains exam and prepare for the Interview round too would be provided with ₹1 lakh assistance. The scheme was launched in 2024. Of the 140 people provided with the assistance last year, 10 were selected for All India Services (AIS). They were honoured on the occasion. Backward Classes (BC) Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, SCCL chairman and managing director N. Balram and others were present on the occasion.
