CARTHAGE, Mo. — A Carthage house is destroyed after a pile of burning leaves gets out of control.
Carthage Fire Chief Jason Martin said that an older man was burning leaves at his home near Baker Boulevard and Ash Street before 11 Thursday morning.

The fire got out of control and spread onto the siding, then eventually the roof.Crews were able to act quickly and get the fire out, but the roof did collapse into the living room.
No one was inside and no one was injured. The Red Cross was called to help the displaced homeowner.
Martin said the fire will likely be ruled accidental.

CSPD: Car chase ends in PIT maneuver and arrest of minor
(COLORADO SPRINGS) — According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 00 block of Stanford Street, near Pikes Peak Avenue and South Academy Boulevard, leading to a car chase and the arrest of a minor on Sunday morning, June 8. CSPD reported that around 2 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to the scene after receiving multiple calls of shots fired and a report that a male had been shot. When they arrived, a suspect vehicle was leaving the scene and nearly hit an officer who was approaching on foot. Police chased the vehicle and performed a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver to apprehend the driver.
