Manasse Kusu continues at FF Jaro
The Congolese midfielder Manasse Kusu will continue his adventure in Finland.
On loan from Mjällby to FF Jaro since last March, the 23-year-old Congolese midfielder has seen his loan extended until November 30, 2025. Having joined Mjällby from Östers IF in the summer of 2024, Kusu keeps gaining valuable playing time abroad—a move welcomed by the Swedish management.
On the club's official website, Hasse Larsson, sporting director of Mjällby, commented on the news:
The extension of this loan is a good solution for all parties. Manasse benefits from an environment that supports his progress and gets significant playing time, which is crucial for his development.
FF Jaro will therefore be able to count on the dynamism of the young Ghanaian youth international until the end of the season.

Alex Highsmith being evaluated for a groin injury
Steelers edge rusher Alex Highsmith could miss some time with a groin injury. Highsmith left Sunday's practice after getting hurt during a drill. Head coach Mike Tomlin said it was the only new injury in the session and that Highsmith is going to be checked out by medical personnel. "Alex Highsmith didn't finish," Tomlin said, via the team's website. "Don't know the severity of it. In the one-on-one pass rush period, he stopped. He said maybe he felt his groin. But we'll evaluate it, and I'll be more definitive next time we talk, not only about the injury but the significance of it." Highsmith dealt with groin injuries last season and missed six games. He had 45 tackles, six sacks and a forced fumble when he was healthy enough to play.

CBS Sports predicts Nebraska's first loss of the 2025 football season
A new list predicts that Nebraska will go 3-0 before suffering its first loss of the 2025 football season. Brad Crawford of CBS Sports predicted the first loss for all 18 conference teams. Crawford believes that the Huskers will suffer their first loss on September 20 against the Michigan Wolverines. Nebraska's 2025 schedule has been a topic of conversation over the last several months. Phil Steele recently named the Huskers' schedule as the easiest schedule in the conference. They also recently ranked tenth in the conference for miles traveled during the season with 2,790 miles scheduled. The Cornhuskers will only travel four times during Big Ten play. They will play at Minnesota, Maryland, and Penn State, but the farthest road trip in 2025 will be on November 8 when Nebraska plays the UCLA Bruins at the Rose Bowl. Here is what Crawford had to say about his prediction of a loss against the Wolverines. "Matt Rhule has lost his last 16 games against nationally ranked opponents. He'll look to end that skid against the Wolverines in Week 4 after what could be a 3–0 start. Dylan Raiola's national coming-out party could happen if Nebraska defends its home turf against one of the league's most talented teams." Nebraska will open the 2025 college football season on Thursday, August 28, when the Huskers face the Cincinnati Bearcats at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. The kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. CT. Contact/Follow us @CornhuskersWire on X (formerly Twitter), and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Nebraska news, notes, and opinions. Chelsea in ‘direct talks' over Borussia Dortmund transfer
Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly in talks over a possible deal for Carney Chukwuemeka in the summer transfer window. The midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan with the Black and Yellow, making 17 appearances in all competitions, including four at the FIFA Club World Cup, but only started once. Chukwuemeka has been heavily linked with a move to RB Leipzig as a possible makeweight in a deal that could see Xavi Simons move to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have been in talks with both Leipzig and Simons in recent weeks as they look to sign yet more players before the start of the new season. However, Fabrizio Romano has reported that the east German outfit have enquired about signing Tyrique George, which may have opened the door for BVB to land Chukwuemeka. Chelsea in 'talks' with Borussia Dortmund over Carney Chukwuemeka transfer Romano has since claimed that Dortmund have 'reactivated direct talks' with Chelsea for the 21-year-old. Chukwuemeka 'wants the move', with 'negotiations ongoing between the clubs to find a solution'. Chelsea do not want to send the player out on loan again as their preference this summer is a permanent transfer. His initial loan move included an option to buy, which was reportedly in the region of €35 million (£30.4m). Chukwuemeka signed for the Blues from Aston Villa in a £20m deal in 2022, but has been unable to break into the first team. He has started just four Premier League games since the move to west London and is open to an exit in search of regular minutes.
