Eastleigh river crash bus firm gives thanks to rescuers
The driver of the bus was hailed a "hero" on Friday by Dr John Fisher, who was one of the first to arrive on the scene.He helped rescue students and told the BBC: "It feels that he [the bus driver] tried to ditch it to avoid a head-on crash... it's a bit of a miracle."Another witness previously told the BBC the driver reported that his brakes and accelerator failed at the same time.
A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed an investigation is ongoing.The force previously said the three students with serious injuries - two girls and one boy all aged 17 - were discharged from hospital.Of the 15 other passengers, aged between 16 and 18, three received hospital treatment.
Mr Tyldsley added: "As this is an ongoing police investigation, it would be inappropriate for anyone to comment on the cause of the crash."Along with the friends and families involved, we would like to extend our gratitude to those who witnessed the event and helped those in need at the scene."Thoughts right now are with all those who were injured."Police praised the bravery of members of the public and emergency services who helped rescue some of the trapped students and driver.Officers are continuing to urge any witnesses and anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

Liverpool parade crash accused to enter plea after 134 people injured
A man who allegedly drove into crowds celebrating Liverpool 's Premier League victory is due to appear in court to enter a plea. Paul Doyle was charged with seven offences after the incident on Water Street, Liverpool, on 26 May. Merseyside Police said 134 people were injured when the 53-year-old drove his car into crowds who were leaving the waterfront after the victory parade. The Croxteth man will appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday. He will face a plea and trial preparation hearing. Doyle is charged with two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, two counts of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, two counts of wounding with intent, and one count of dangerous driving. Of those, one wounding charge and one attempted grievous bodily harm charge relate to children aged 11 and 17. Earlier this year, a provisional trial date was fixed for 24 November. The trial is expected to last three to four weeks. At a hearing in May, Doyle – a former Royal Marine – held back tears in court as he was accused of driving into Liverpool football fans. Dozens of people queued outside the court beforehand to be present at the magistrates' court hearing, and police were on duty outside the building. Liverpool Magistrates' Court heard he was alleged to have "used his vehicle deliberately as a weapon". The father of three looked emotional when he arrived at court from the cells and looked around at the dozens of reporters packing the courtroom. He spoke with a croaky voice, and only to confirm his name, date of birth and address. The judge imposed reporting restrictions to prevent the victims from being identified publicly. Doyle, who wore a black suit, white shirt and grey tie, stood with his hands clasped and nodded as he was remanded in custody, before being led out of the dock by security guards.

Boohoo founder should be investigated over debt collection, says Mike Ashley
Mike Ashley's Frasers Group has urged Boohoo to suspend and launch an investigation into the online fashion firm's chairman and founder over reported debt collection tactics. Earlier this week, the Telegraph reported Mahmud Kamani sought to collect a £100,000 personal debt by taking a cut of payments to one of its jeans suppliers. It comes amid increased friction between Frasers founder Mr Ashley and retail rival Mr Kamani in recent years. In a letter through its legal advisers, Frasers Group – which owns an almost 29% stake in Boohoo – said it had 'very serious concerns' about the reports. In the letter, Frasers said the allegations would be 'very serious and damaging to the reputation of Boohoo'. It said: 'If proven, it appears that Mr Kamani may have breached his duties as a director of Boohoo and could also have committed various criminal offences.' Frasers therefore called for an independent investigation into the founder's conduct and asked for the company to immediately suspend Mr Kamani and his direct associates from any roles at the business. The Telegraph reported Mr Kamani instructed a middleman in its supply chain to deduct 20p per garment from payments to PDQ Textiles, a Manchester company with factories in Pakistan. The article suggested Mr Kamani had made the loans to suppliers through other companies, including Pinstripe Clothing, a private business co-owned by him. It claimed these loans appeared to be repaid by the suppliers to Mr Kamani through a scheme whereby funds were taken from Boohoo and instead deposited into to Mr Kamani's personal accounts or those other companies he owns.

The singer, 37, vowed to be 'brutally honest' in the tome, titled Judgement: Love, Trials and Tribulations, and has stayed true to her word. According to The Mirror, the N-Dubz star charts her 'year from hell' amid her drug sting trial, which led to two suicide attempts. She penned of the day she found out she was going to be charged on suspicion of being involved with the supply of Class A drugs: 'Why is this happening to me? 'What's the point in being alive just to be miserable? How am I ever going to find happiness after this? Even if I'm found innocent, I'll be empty inside by the time I get to the end of it, and my life will be ruined.' Thankfully, she was found by former best friend Gareth Varey who called an ambulance after finding her in her bathroom surrounded by empty packets of sleeping pills. While Tulisa was revived, she made a second attempt on her life months later amid her trial, which resulted in her being hospitalised for three days. Throughout any challenging times, Tulisa would try and comfort herself by locking herself in the bathroom. She explained: 'When I was a child, the bathroom was the only room in my house with a lock. I had always locked myself in there in times of distress, whether it was because my parents were going at it like two bulls in a china shop again, or my mentally ill mother was going off the rails. It had always been my place of safety. 'And twenty years later, here I was: back lying on the bathroom floor. Deep-rooted issues, I suppose. When the sex tape had come out, I had slept on the bathroom floor for five days.' Tulisa's ex Justin Edwards - who she had broken up with in 2009 - released a sex tape of her in 2012 during the height of her fame. Revenge porn was not illegal at the time, meaning she only managed to get a court apology from him. Elsewhere in the book, Tulisa also revealed that while she suffered from depression she became addicted to sleeping tablets and benzodiazepines, a habit she broke free from last year after she 'found her peace and faith'. Tulisa's memoir documents her rise to prominence and subsequent fall from grace after being targeted by the disgraced 'Fake Sheikh', Mazher Mahmood. The singer later admitted her life 'fell apart' following an elaborate sting that resulted in her being arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs, an accusation she vehemently denied.
