Alien: Earth cast lift lid on 'sweetest vegan in the world' cast as sci-fi horror's new Xenomorph
The cast of the new Alien TV series, Alien: Earth, have admitted that they couldn't help but giggle at the man inside the iconic Xenomorph suit on set
The cast of Alien: Earth have disclosed that the performer behind the legendary Xenomorph costume was far from menacing when the cameras stopped rolling.

Crafted by acclaimed Fargo creator Noah Hawley, this fresh FX series launches this week on Disney+ across the UK, functioning as a prequel to Ridley Scott's 1979 science fiction horror masterpiece.

The show's diverse ensemble features both emerging talent and established performers, including Timothy Olyphant, Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther and Babou Ceesay.

Naturally, no instalment in the Alien saga would be complete without the spine-chilling extraterrestrial creatures, and Hawley has stressed a commitment to authentic practical effects to deliver the terror.
During a preview at Alien: Earth's London premiere, the cast disclosed that performer Cameron Brown was predominantly housed within the classic dark costume that has been petrifying audiences for more than four decades, reports the Mirror.

"It was Cameron Brown, who's a vegan," Ceesay revealed. "Dressed in an eight-foot suit.
"Snarling in your face, K-Y jelly dripping out of his mouth. Yeah, scary."
Nevertheless, Ceesay and his fellow cast members couldn't suppress their laughter whilst fondly recalling their experiences with Brown during filming.

Lawther remarked: "It's really easy to run away scared from a Xenomorph when it's really a man who's a Xenomorph chasing you."
The performers also disclosed that their alien-costumed colleague would regularly pause for snacks of carrot sticks and hummus, creating a sharp contrast to his carnivorous on-screen character.
During a panel discussion at Comic-Con's Hall H, lead actress Chandler previously confessed she was "giddy" to be pursued by a Xenomorph, describing Brown as "the sweetest person in the world", according to GoldDerby.

Lawther concurred at the time: "There's something hysterical about the fearsomeness of the Xenomorph, but then he takes off his head, and he's from New Zealand, and he doesn't eat meat.
"If you think me and Sydney are soft-spoken, just wait till you meet the Xenomorph."

Devoted enthusiasts of the original film by director Ridley Scott, along with its later sequels, will be delighted to learn that Hawley utilised practical effects and sets wherever possible.
Expanding on the benefits of practical techniques over CGI, he said: "I think it's meaningful, both to the cast and, I think audiences know when something's real or not real.

"We've gotten very good at tricking them, but, usually, what you need is some realistic element in the shot.
"The thing with horror is your imagination does most of the work for you, so you don't want to see the monster for too long. You want to see the shadows, you want to see the open door.
"The shot is half a second and you've got a tail on a fishing line and that's probably gonna work, you know what I mean?"

Critics are claiming the Alien franchise is stronger than ever with the fresh TV prequel, but will it convince fans who believe the Xenomorphs should have remained in space? Find out soon.

Timothée Chalamet snubs Kylie Jenner's birthday amid split rumours

Hollywood actor Timothée Chalamet marked Kylie Jenner's 28th birthday with a cryptic Instagram post and it has sparked fresh speculation about their relationship. Fresh split rumours have been circulating regarding the relationship between Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner after the Hollywood actor snubbed her birthday. ‌ The famous Kardashian was celebrating her 28th birthday with a glam party and family but Timothée was nowhere to be seen. ‌ Instead, the 29-year-old posted a picture from a historic boxing match showing Muhammad Ali celebrating victory, overlaid with the words 'Dream Big' in red, handwritten-style lettering instead of wishing his girlfriend a happy birthday. ‌ The American-French actors cryptic post has now added fuel to fire as fans fear that Kylie and Timothee have officially broken up, reports the Mirror. Timothée and Kylie were first linked in April 2023 after reports surfaced that they had been spending time together. They made their first public appearance as a couple in September that year at Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour in Los Angeles, where they were snapped kissing and laughing together in the VIP section. ‌ Since then, the couple have kept their relationship relatively low-key, occasionally being photographed on outings but avoiding public commentary about one another. Over the past month, fans have noted the absence of any new images of the pair together, with Kylie also posting a series of Instagram Stories featuring sad song lyrics which have further fuelled rumours of a split. ‌ The timing and content of Timothée's post on Kylie's birthday left many fans baffled as some believe the 'Dream Big' message may be a subtle reference to his upcoming film Marty Supreme, due for release on Christmas Day. While Timothée decided to publicly snub Kylie's birthday, her famous family marked her big day with their annual warm and emotional posts. Kylie's mum, Kris Jenner shared a carousel of throwback images of her youngest daughter as she wrote: 'Happy birthday to my baby girl!! You are truly beautiful inside and out… You are so smart, strong, creative, loving, kind, funny, and always so supportive… I love you beyond measure… Mommy.' ‌ Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Khloe, 41, captioned it: "Forever and then some, I love you to the moon and back. Happy birthday my girl… My soulmate sister… I love you beyond words, always and forever. With all my heart, Your second mommy, Khloé.' ‌ Kourtney Kardashian posted: "Tinker Bell! May you shine forever my little goose sister.' While Kim wrote: 'Kylie's day! Happy Birthday to the goat." Disney undergoes huge shakeup amid Hulu merge as multiple shows are scrapped leaving fans furious

It's been an eventful year for Disney Plus viewers - and not necessarily in the best way. Disney recently announced that streaming service Hulu + Live TV would be integrated into Disney+ following the news of the merge made in a bid to give subscribers more content in one place. Instead, the changes - among others - seem to have more implications for people's favorite shows. As Disney restructures its streaming strategy, many fans have been left wondering if their shows will be renewed for another season. So far in 2025, Disney+ has only renewed four shows: The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder (season 4), Wizards Beyond Waverly Place (season 2), Percy Jackson and the Olympians (season 2), and Daredevil: Born Again (season 2). Everything else seems to be walking a fine line. And it's not necessarily just unpopular shows that have been scrapped - there have been a few high-profile picks that haven't survived another season. Extraordinary, the critically-praised supernatural comedy, has been axed before a third season. The historical mystery Shardlake, starring Sean Bean, also got the boot. But perhaps the most gutting blow for many came when Goosebumps was canceled after just two seasons. While based on R.L. Stine's beloved books, Disney pulled the plug - though Sony Pictures Television is reportedly shopping it to other platforms. And fans were not pleased at the slew of changes. 'I hope Extraordinary gets picked up by another streaming service because holy shit I'm so upset they cancelled the renewal. Disney made a big mistake,' one fan shared. 'Why cancel a show with nostalgia value when half the platform is filled with forgettable reboots?' one X (formerly Twitter) user asked. 'Disney is where properties go to die,' another said. The patterns around the cancellations aren't random. While these shows may have been popular and growing fan bases, it seems as though Disney is axing anything that doesn't deliver immediate, metric-based success. So if a show has slower audience growth - even if it has a strong fan base - it could be vulnerable. It was reported that between 2020 and 2023, Disney canceled a larger percentage of its series than competitors like Netflix or Max. Usually these kinds of cuts happen after just one or two seasons, before a story has a chance to gain momentum. Doogie Kameāloha, M.D. and The Mysterious Benedict Society were all canceled after just one of two seasons in 2023, despite growing interest in the shows. It seems as though Disney is 'tightening its belt' after costly acquisitions like 20th Century Fox. This includes not only canceling shows, but getting rid of some titles from the platform completely. But all hope is not lost for Disney fans. Some of the shows that were canceled - like Goosebumps - are being pitched to other streamers and networks that could potentially give them a second life. And Disney's platform itself hasn't stopped rolling out new content despite the cancellations. Disney is still rolling out new titles like Eyes of Wakanda and Raising Asia. Though, it's unclear yet whether these shows will survive the platform's seemingly strict decision-making.
