Germany Condemns Israel's West Bank Settlement Plan as Illegal
Germany has urged Israel to halt its latest West Bank settlement expansion, warning that it breaches international law and threatens the viability of a two-state solution.
Berlin's statement came after Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich unveiled plans for 3,400 new housing units in the E1 corridor between East Jerusalem and the Maale Adumim settlement.
Critics argue the project would sever the West Bank into northern and southern zones, rendering a contiguous Palestinian state impossible.
The German Foreign Ministry
reaffirmed
it would only recognise border changes agreed upon by both parties and stressed that settlement construction violates UN Security Council resolutions.
The E1 area has long been a flashpoint, with the United Nations and European Union opposing development there. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas warned the move further undermines peace efforts and urged Israel to desist.
Israel captured the West Bank and East Jerusalem in 1967, and more than 700,000 settlers now live among around three million Palestinians. While the international community views the settlements as illegal, Israel considers the territory disputed.
The plan emerges amid escalating tensions and a worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza due to Israel's ongoing military operations against Hamas.

Pakistan Condemns, Rejects Statements by Israel Regarding Creation of 'Greater Israel'
SeeNews Pakistan strongly condemns and rejects recent statements made by the Israeli Occupying power, alluding to the creation of so-called 'Greater Israel,' and its designs aimed at the forcible displacement of Palestinians from Gaza. Pakistan calls on the international community to outrightly reject such provocative notions that constitute a flagrant violation of the international law, principles of the UN Charter, as well as the relevant United Nations resolutions. Such statements reflect the occupying power's intention to entrench its illegal occupation, as well as its complete contempt for all international efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace and stability in the region. The international community must take immediate and tangible measures to prevent the occupying power from further destabilizing the region, and to end its ongoing crimes and atrocities against the Palestinians. Pakistan reaffirms its full support for the Palestinian people's legitimate rights, including the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent, viable, and contiguous State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt News The Jessica Radcliffe Orca Attack? 100% Fake and AI-Generated

31 Arab, Islamic nations Condemn Netanyahu's 'Greater Israel' Remarks
Taarek Refaat Foreign ministers from 31 Arab and Islamic nations, along with the Secretaries-General of the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), have issued a strongly worded joint statement condemning remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding what he described as a vision for a 'Greater Israel.' The ministers denounced the comments as a flagrant violation of international law, a direct threat to Arab national security, and a destabilizing act with severe implications for regional and global peace. They stressed that the statements reflect an extreme disregard for established principles of international relations and represent an attempt to impose domination by force. The statement reiterated that, while Arab and Islamic nations uphold the UN Charter—particularly Article 2, Paragraph 4, which prohibits the use or threat of force—they will adopt all policies and measures necessary to foster and sustain peace, ensuring security, stability, and development for all peoples, far removed from what they described as 'illusions of control and power supremacy.' The foreign ministers also sharply condemned Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich's approval of settlement expansion in the sensitive 'E1' area and his extremist, anti-Palestinian remarks rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state. They labeled these actions as blatant violations of international law and a direct assault on the Palestinian people's inalienable right to an independent, sovereign state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. The ministers reaffirmed that Israel has no sovereignty over occupied Palestinian territory and rejected all illegal Israeli settlement activities, citing UN Security Council Resolution 2334, which condemns measures aimed at altering the demographic composition, character, and legal status of the occupied Palestinian lands, including East Jerusalem. Citing the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, the statement stressed the illegality of the Israeli occupation, the urgent need for its termination, and the removal of all its consequences. The ministers warned against Israeli policies of annexation, continued settlement expansion in the West Bank, and violations of Muslim and Christian holy sites, especially Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif, alongside settler violence, military raids, and forced displacement. These actions, they said, fuel cycles of violence and undermine any prospects for a just and comprehensive peace. The statement also renewed a firm rejection of what they described as Israeli war crimes, genocide, and ethnic cleansing in Gaza, demanding an immediate ceasefire and unconditional humanitarian access to end what they called Israel's 'deliberate starvation policy' in the territory. They called for the complete lifting of Israel's blockade on Gaza, the opening of crossings, and full accountability for the humanitarian collapse in the enclave. Reaffirming that Gaza is an inseparable part of the occupied Palestinian territories, the ministers urged for the Palestinian Authority to assume governance responsibilities there as in the West Bank, backed by Arab and international support, under the political framework of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people. They also called on the international community, particularly permanent members of the UN Security Council, and especially the United States, to fulfill their legal and moral obligations by pressuring Israel to halt its aggression in Gaza and escalation in the West Bank, to end incitement, and to provide international protection for the Palestinian people. Finally, the ministers reiterated their demand for holding accountable all perpetrators of crimes and violations against the Palestinian people, and for ensuring Palestinians' full rights, foremost among them the right to establish an independent, sovereign state on their national soil. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt News The Jessica Radcliffe Orca Attack? 100% Fake and AI-Generated
