Diamondbacks ban fan who interfered with apparent would-be Giants HR for rest of season, citing 'multiple offenses'
The Diamondbacks announced the ban in a statement Tuesday, citing "multiple offenses" committed by the fan.
"The particular fan has been involved in multiple offenses at Chase Field," the statement reads. "Consequently we have terminated his Advantage Member account and he is prohibited from returning to Chase Field for the remainder of 2025.
"This fan will have the opportunity to return to Chase Field in 2026 so long as he meets certain terms and abides by our fan code of conduct."

The Diamondbacks did not identify the fan. He identified himself in an interview with Arizona Sports 98.7 FM on Tuesday. We won't publicize his name here, but he has, indeed, committed multiple offenses.
His latest was during Monday's Diamondbacks-Giants game. With the Diamondbacks holding a 3-2 lead in the top of the eighth, Giants third baseman Christian Koss hit a deep fly ball to left-center field that appeared to be tracking over the wall for a game-tying solo home run.
Instead, said Diamondbacks fan dove across three other fans and on top of the outfield wall to snag the ball with his glove.
Diamondbacks outfielder Tim Tawa made a play on the ball at the same time. But the ball appeared to be out of his reach and headed over the outfield wall if not for the fan's interference with the ball itself.

Umpires initially ruled the play an out for fan interference. Upon review after a Giants challenge, they determined that the fan didn't make contact with Tawa and that Tawa couldn't have caught the ball. That led to the ball being ruled a ground-rule double on the basis that the ball was not tracking to carry over the wall.
Instead of a game-tying solo home run or an out, umpires awarded Koss second base. He did not come around to score, and the Diamondbacks went on to a 4-2 win. The fan was ejected from the stadium.
It's not clear exactly how many times this fan has interfered with baseball games from his outfield seat at Chase Field. Jomboy Media documented four instances in the past four seasons.
The fan himself told 98.7 FM on Tuesday that he has caught 24 home run balls in his life and that doing so is "one of my things."
His thing for the rest of the season will be watching Diamondbacks games from home.

New York Giants' Brian Burns committed to becoming an elite player
"I'm trying to take my game to a level it's never been. That requires me doing things I never did."Brian Burns has been putting in extra work with Dexter Lawrence to learn new skills Last offseason, New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen made a big splash in the heat of free agency when he acquired linebacker Brian Burns from the Carolina Panthers to improve the front seven. In his first season in blue, Burns recorded 8.5 sacks, and there were times when he looked like the star the Giants set out to get when they traded for the two-time Pro Bowler. As he heads into his second year with the Giants, Burns has his sights set on becoming an elite player and bringing his game to another level. "I'm just trying to take my game to a level it's never been. That requires me doing things I never did," he told reporters on Wednesday. "I've been working with (Dexter Lawrence) Dex quite a bit, talking to Dex a lot (about) just how to manipulate body positions and try to use my length and power more and not just my speed and finesse. That's been good to me so far so I'm going to keep working on that." Burns' comments came after the second joint session with the New York Jets, where he had two of his better practices in all of training camp. Learning from Lawrence may be beneficial given his dominance and stardom at his position. Sexy Dexy has been one of the league's best for the last several years. With Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and rookie Abdul Carter joining Burns on the front seven, there are high expectations around the group of pass rushers. Burns may be primed for his best season just based on the talent around him on the defensive line. Burns is already a really good player. However, if he elevates his game, even slightly, the Giants' defense could certainly be one of the league's best in 2025.

Ex-NFL QB: Jaxson Dart should start for New York Giants
Following his impressive NFL debut against the Buffalo Bills last weekend, New York Giants rookie Jaxson Dart received a ton of praise, including being named a top rookie QB performer in the NFL's opening weekend of the preseason. Now, after just one outing, some believe that the Dart should be the Giants' starting quarterback as early as Week 1 of the regular season. Ex-NFL quarterback Chase Daniel is the latest on the Dart starting quarterback train. In the video posted by Daniel, he walks through the progression on Dart's first touchdown and highlights his decision-making. "Watch Jaxson Dart right here, watch his left hand -- check to this. Look at that, we didn't see that. That's what I'm talking about, he checked to it. He checked to this go route, a perfectly thrown football. That's what I'm talking about," Daniel said. "Big time, calling your own shot, getting smoked, throwing a freaking touchdown like this. Not a great rep by 63 [Jake Kubas] -- hey, sometimes, you know what? You're gonna get hit, get that ball out, you can't throw it any better than this. Okay, on the ground. Let's go -- he checked to it!" Head coach Brian Daboll has been adamant that Russell Wilson will be the Giants' starter when the season begins. However, the more Dart impresses in the preseason, the more noise the Giants will hear to go with the rookie from the jump. With the Giants' less-than-favorable schedule to start the season, it may only be a matter of time before we see Dart as the starter. One this is for sure, Darts' first game action performance has fans excited for what the future may hold with their rookie QB.
