Your guide to getting to, from and around Outside Lands
Why it matters: Outside Lands returns to Golden Gate Park with a star-studded lineup that includes Hozier and Doechii. The massive crowds will affect roads and transit throughout Golden Gate Park and surrounding neighborhoods.
Here's what you need to know about traffic and road closures this weekend:
Parking is limited, so festival organizers are encouraging all attendees to avoid driving if possible.
Outside Lands will operate two shuttle services starting at 11am every day and finishing one hour after the music ends.
They'll depart from the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in downtown SF and Cow Palace in Daly City — the latter will have free parking — and drop off attendees at the festival's south entrance. The last shuttle to the event will leave both locations at 8pm.
Shuttle passes will cost $33-96.
Muni will provide extra service on N Judah (3pm to midnight) and 5R Fulton Rapid from Montgomery BART to the Richmond (2-8pm).
It will also run 5X Fulton Express from the Fulton Street/30th Avenue exit of Golden Gate Park to the Civic Center BART Station every night from 9-11pm.
The event itself will have a designated transportation hub with bike parking and bike- and scooter-share services as well as taxi stands and passenger loading zones.
Pick-up and drop-off areas for other vehicles, such as rideshares, will be located at Balboa and 30th Avenue or Irving Street between 25th and 27th avenues.
What to expect: JFK Drive from Transverse to 36th Avenue will be closed to vehicles all weekend.
Several park entrances on the north and south sides — including 43rd Avenue (Chain of Lakes) and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive at Crossover Drive — will also be closed to the public.
SFMTA expects the 7 Haight/Noriega, 28 19th Avenue, 29 Sunset and 44 O'Shaughnessy lines, which serve Golden Gate Park areas, to be subject to crowds.
Caveat: Pick-ups and drop-offs are strictly prohibited on all streets in Golden Gate Park from 11am Friday to 11:59pm Sunday.

San Francisco neighbors fed up as 3 straight weekends of concerts wrap up at Golden Gate Park
Three weekends. Three massive concerts. Tens of thousands of fans packing Golden Gate Park. From Dead & Company's concert series to the three-day Outside Lands festival, and now, country star Zach Bryan headlining the Polo Field on Friday night, San Francisco has been a music capital this month. The concerts brought a big economic boost for businesses across the city, but for some neighbors living near the park, it's been three weekends of frustration. "The biggest challenge for me has been parking," said Franco Fortin, who lives about a block from the Polo Field. "I do not have a garage or a driveway spot. So I have to street park." Fortin said last Saturday, during Outside Lands, he drove out around noon. When he returned, he couldn't find parking for 30 minutes and eventually parked his car 12 blocks away from home. Neighbors said traffic, parking headaches, and noise have become routine whenever a major event takes over Golden Gate Park. On the city's 311 website, complaints poured in over the last two weekends. Residents reported blocked driveways, trash, urine bottles, and plenty of noise. Some of the comments were explicit: "Shut that ******* noise off. They just don't ******* care." Another person wrote: "Take your Outside ******* Lands and go **** yourselves. This is a residential neighborhood." Not everyone was completely against the shows. But even big music fans admit they're relieved the streak is over. "Three long weekends and I'm glad it's finally over," said neighbor Spencer Miller. Others turned the chaos into an opportunity. Some rented out driveway spots for cash. Two middle schoolers even set up a stand to sell homemade cookies and brownies to concert-goers. "A long time ago, we saw our neighbors doing it. So we decided to do it. And then we made money, so we kept doing it," said 14-year-old Nicholas Sweeney. Despite the inconvenience, Fortin says the concerts have been good for the city's economy, and local businesses in particular. He hopes San Francisco comes up with a plan to help residents next summer, such as temporary parking permits. Recreation and Park officials said they're aware of the complaints and are working with public transit agencies to ease congestion. But a long-term solution for next year's events may take time. The good news for neighbors: Friday night's Zach Bryan show is just a one-day event—unlike Outside Lands and Dead & Company's three-day runs.

Zach Bryan and Kings of Leon will headline the next installment of the Golden Gate Park Concerts series on Friday, Aug. 15, in what promises to be one of San Francisco's biggest live music events of the year. Organized by Another Planet Entertainment — the same team behind Outside Lands — this single-day show follows the wildly successful inaugural concert last year, which brought System of a Down and Deftones to a sold-out crowd of more than 50,000 fans. Who's playing at the Golden Gate Park Concert 2025? Zach Bryan, the Grammy-winning country artist who's just wrapped up his sold-out 'Quittin' Time' tour, is headlining. Bay Area fans may remember his stadium debut at the Oakland Coliseum earlier this year. Bryan is also teasing a brand-new album, 'With Heaven On Top', due in January, with a collaboration featuring Kings of Leon called 'Bowery.' Kings of Leon, meanwhile, are back in full force.
