Widow 'killed and her body fed to pigs by new boyfriend in Mafia murder'

A widow was brutally murdered, butchered and fed to pigs leading to the arrest of eighty-one people in Italy after it was alleged that mafia gangsters were behind the mother's death.
Maria Chindamo was killed in Limbadi in 2016, allegedly as a result of her trying to rebuild her life and business after her husband's death, which left her with valuable land that caught the attention of the mafia. On May 6, she was brutally attacked, slaughtered, and her body dismembered using a tractor before being fed to pigs.
A massive operation by Italy's anti-mafia police force was carried out against the 'Ndrangheta in Vibo, Calabria, where prosecutors uncovered disturbing evidence of unsolved crimes, including the horrific murder of Maria, a local businesswoman, reports the Mirror US.
Chief Prosecutor Nicola Gratteri, who led the raid, told Fanpage. It: "Maria Chindamo was killed exactly one year after her husband's suicide, when she allowed herself to post photos with her new partner.", reports the Mirror. "Two days after the shot, she was killed in an inhuman, tragic way. She killed and fed to pigs, her remains ground up with a crawler tractor to make all traces disappear."
Gratteri added: "She was killed because she wanted to be a woman and a free entrepreneur." The prosecutor, who has devoted his life to battling the ruthless Calabrian 'Ndrangheta, stated that she was targeted because she "thought of becoming an entrepreneur, looking after the interests of the land and her children and even enrolled in university".
The investigation relied heavily on intercepted communications, but detectives also interviewed 18 informants who told officers about their fellow mob members. Regarding Maria's murder, these witnesses provided police with specific details about the case that hadn't been widely reported by the media, which solidified investigators' certainty of their involvement.
Maria's brother expressed relief that justice had been served in his sister's case. Vincenzo Chindamo said: "There is a scent of justice in the area. We are waiting to carefully read the documents of this segment of the investigation but I would like to point out one thing immediately: having pursued the search for the truth about my sister's killing for all these years, I finally have my results.
"I have never stopped believing in the work of the judiciary, even when there might have been some moments of discouragement. And what has emerged today is rewarding that perseverance."
He added: "The 'ndrangheta and the 'ndrangheta subculture are retrograde and losers, while Maria's beauty and smile, even in the clouds, still shine". He recalled when Maria's car was found saying "I remember her Dacia Duster still running, the radio on and the locks of her hair smeared with blood."
Gratteri said of the gang: "They did not forgive her freedom and the management of the land she inherited, on which the appetites of a 'Ndrangheta family rested. And also his new love. So Maria, three days after posting the photo with her new partner on social media, vanished into thin air.
"You could not afford - added Gratteri - the luxury of starting a new life, of managing that land in an entrepreneurial way and of being able to take care of and raise your children in a free way and leaving the mafia mentality".

Teen locked dog away, bludgeoned parents to death then had a party

One Florida teen started joking about killing his parents with his friends - then followed through on it in a prolonged violent outburst which left him covered in his own parents' blood. Tyler Hadley was just 17 when he locked his family dog in a cupboard and bludgeoned his parents to death with a hammer before his father, Blake uttered his final devastating question to his son: 'Why?' Tyler's father was a nuclear power plant operator, and Mary Jo, his mother taught at the local school. Tyler also had a brother - Ryan. His aunts recalled that Tyler was "cute" calling him an "adorable little boy," according to Crime and Investigation. They added that "he was constantly hugging his mom." At High School Tyler stopped playing sport and started experimenting with drugs before his behavior became erratic and concerning. His alcohol and drug use escalated and he was knownto police before he was involved in a $15,000 civil suit after injuring a child while driving his father's car in June 2010, reports Mirror US. In a final attempt to save their son before he turned 18, his parents sent Tyler to rehab but the teen was not happy. His uncle said: "That kid wanted his freedom, and he wanted to party... his parents were in the way, and he felt there was no way out." Then the sinister jokes began. Tyler told a close friend exactly what he was planning to do. The idea was horrific, he wanted to throw a party after murdering both of his parents. On the day of the murders, he posted an ominous message on Facebook: "Party at my crib tonight... maybe." Tyler hid his parents' phones and locked the family dog in the cupboard, then took three ecstasy pills and picked up a claw hammer. He killed his mother first, attacking her from behind while she was on her computer. Hearing her screams, his father asked his son "Why?" in shock. Tyler replied: "'Why the f*** not?" before attacking him. Tyler then moved their bodies to the master bedroom and cleaned up the blood, which was splattered all over the house and his body. He then invited around 60 people over to party - after placing an assortment of objects over the dead body. Tyler told several people at the party he had killed his parents and even showed his best friend, Michael Mandell, their bodies. But others there that night reported odd smells and sightings of spatters of blood around the house. Michael would eventually alert the police but not until the party had finished. Tyler was also caught on CCTV using his parents' stolen credit cards to buy alcohol and other supplies. Tyler was arrested early the next morning. His lack of remorse led prosecutors to argue his desire to throw a house party meant more than his parents' lives. Tyler pleaded no contest to two counts of first-degree murder. He was initially sentenced to two consecutive terms of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. In 2018, he was resentenced as an adult to life in prison. Tyler continues to brag about his horrific crimes in prison, regularly signing autographs for fellow inmates with his self-proclaimed nickname, Hammer Boy. A prison guard also reported finding a hammer the 'Hammer Boy' had fashioned himself behind bars. Prison guard D. Johnson wrote in his report of the April 6 incident: "I discovered a homemade weapon fashioned from a piece of metal approximately 6 inches in length, sharpened to a point with a piece of cloth wrapped around one end to be used as a handle." Tyler was ordered to spend 60 days in disciplinary confinement, living in a solitary cell with limited privileges. State prison records show Tyler was also given an additional 30 days of confinement after a disciplinary hearing found that he had 20 unauthorized absences from a teaching assistant job. He refused to participate in his disciplinary hearings and refused to sign the violation forms, according to prison reports.

Church confirms 'miraculous' moment face of Jesus appears on bread

The Catholic Church has declared the appearance of an image of Jesus Christ on a ceremonial bread during a Holy Communion in India as a genuine miracle. This extraordinary event took place over a decade ago in the southern Indian hills, when a mysterious face appeared on a Consecrated Host being raised by Father Thomas Pathicka. What initially seemed like a peculiar stain gradually became more luminous, slowly morphing into what looked like the figure of Christ. News spread and numerous visitors began to flock to the church in Vilakkannur to kneel and worship beside what they believed to be a Eucharistic miracle. The village was soon completely inundated with pilgrims - roads were congested and strewn with vehicles, prompting authorities to step in to ensure crowd safety. Shortly after, the Catholic Church discreetly took possession of the host and initiated an investigation, both theological and scientific, in accordance with Vatican protocols, reports the Mirror US. Between 2018 and 2020, the host was returned for public veneration, with the decision to acknowledge the event as 'miraculous' only being made now, some 12 years after the incident. The Vatican has officially recognised it as a true miracle following a visit to Vilakkannur by Archbishop Joseph Pamplany of Tellicherry to verify the 'miraculous' moment. The announcement was relayed through Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli, the Apostolic Nuncio to India, and was proclaimed during a special mass. This event joins a select list of rare and sacred happenings in church history that are said to defy natural explanation, yet strengthen spiritual belief. Most recorded Eucharistic miracles usually involve the Host 'bleeding', with scientific tests confirming the presence of human heart tissue and AB blood group. However, in the Vilakkannur incident, there was no blood or tissue, just a face appearing on the bread itself.

Drunk couple decapitate and stab dog to death to 'avenge' dead cat

A couple planning to start an animal breeding business drunkenly used a chainsaw to behead their Mastiff before the woman stabbed it to "avenge" their cat. The French couple were jailed after police found the dog stabbed to death when they were called out to reports of domestic violence at the couple's home in Levis last May. The woman told the court in Auxerre she stabbed the Argentinian mastiff after finding her partner's cat dead, who she says the dog had killed, Le Parisien reported. The pair, who remain unnamed, said they had wanted to euthanize the "dangerous" dog, with the man saying "decapitation was the only way he could think of" in ending his dog's life. The man told the court that both he and his partner had been drinking heavily - a litre of vodka and two beers each - before the horrific 20-minute assault with a chainsaw unfolded. The man was being treated for drug and alcohol use and admitted to having "finished off the dog to avenge (his) cat". Several other cats and dogs lived in the home as the couple were planning to start a breeding business, the news outlet added. The prosecution denounced the "barbaric act" as "unheard of brutality" and a "first for France" while the defendants' lawyer pleaded that they were under the influence of alcohol and one had a "personality disorder", reports Mirror US. The man, 38, was handed 18 months in prison and the woman, 31, was sentenced to two years. It comes after an adorable dog found wandering the streets after she was a victim of a "heinous act of cruelty" has "America's saddest face," say social media users. Lavender was discovered in April with wounds to her face and ears, injuries so severe one of her ears had to be intentionally cut off at a rescue centre. The pup also had fractured teeth and was also severely underweight. But Mohawk Hudson Humane Society (MHHS), a charity in Menands, New York, has taken care of Lavender, and, when she is well enough, wants to help find her the perfect forever home. It has branded her last owner's acts as "heinous" and "cruel" as law enforcement suspect Lavender was a victim of animal cruelty. Authorities in Menands, which is near the city of Albany, have released fresh information - and upsetting photographs - of the brown dog in an effort to establish exact details about her history. The release was shared on social media this week, where dog lovers have expressed their anger at the previous owner - and adoration for the cute pooch. In the photographs, it is apparent Lavender had suffered injuries at the hands of the "heinous" owner. One Facebook user said: "What a sweet little girl. So sad she has been abused and still looks so sweet!!! Fingers crossed the evil person who did this is punished. Poor baby."
