Minister of Transport, UNMHA team inspect damage to Hodeida port docks caused by Israeli aggression

Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Ayash Quhaim, accompanied by a team from the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeida Agreement (UNMHA), inspected today the damage to Hodeida port docks as a result of airstrikes launched by Israeli enemy aircraft last Monday.
During the visit, Minister Quhaim and the UN team heard a detailed explanation from the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, Zaid Al-Washli, and his Deputy, Nasr Al-Nusairi, regarding the extent of the damage to the port's infrastructure, the repercussions of this attack on future operational and service aspects, and the efforts and emergency actions being undertaken to ensure the continuity of cargo unloading and the flexibility of receiving ships.
The Minister of Transport condemned the Israeli crime against the port of Hodeida, holding the United States and the Zionist entity fully responsible for this blatant attack that targeted a sovereign civilian facility providing humanitarian and commercial services to the country.
He pointed out that the Israeli enemy's targeting of the port of Hodeida reflects its state of helplessness and failure in confronting the steadfastness of the Yemeni people and exposes its desperate attempts to subjugate the Yemeni people by striking their vital arteries.
Minister Quhaim called on the United Nations mission to uphold its responsibilities under the international mandate, condemn this brutal attack, and submit a documented report on the damage and violations affecting the port, as it is a civilian facility subject to international protection under humanitarian law.
He stressed that the United Nations' failure to fulfill its duty regarding this crime constitutes indirect complicity, the consequences of which fall on the international community. He pointed out that the repercussions of the bombing affect the food and humanitarian security of millions of Yemenis who rely on the services of this maritime facility.
Minister Quhaim praised the steadfastness of the leadership and staff of the Red Sea Ports Corporation, and their continued operational success despite the difficult circumstances and recurring challenges.
For their part, members of the UN mission team expressed their deep dismay at the destruction they witnessed of the docks, yards, and infrastructure, expressing their grave concern about the seriousness of the situation and the catastrophic repercussions it ports poses for the humanitarian and service sectors in Yemen.

New York – SABA: The United Nations Security Council failed to pass a resolution on Wednesday evening calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, after the United States used its veto power to block the measure.
