Honor's next phone is a bit too traditional, but it should be very cheap

The entry-level and mid-range segments of the smartphone market are very competitive because of the large number of new devices that are coming out every week. Not only that, but customers are now holding on to their phones for a longer time than in the past.
Honor is one of the many phone makers that are trying to compete with more established brands like Motorola, Samsung and Xiaomi. The newly introduced Honor 400 series is a pure example of how the Chinese company is improving its products in an attempt to gain more market share from the competition.The X-series is Honor's lineup of more affordable smartphones. Despite being cheaper, these phones still offer great value for money and feature a premium look more often than not.
The next phone in the X-series is Honor X6c, a device that hasn't been announced yet. However, several high-resolution renders of the phone have already been leaked, alongside key specs. At first glance, Honor X6c feels like an average, yet very stylish, affordable smartphone, so the success of the phone might come down to whether or not Honor will price this competitively.
Honor X6c | Image credit: YTECHB For tech-savvy, Honor X6c uses a MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra processor, which is paired with 6/8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The smartphone sports a very decent 6.61-inch TFT LCD display with 1604 x 720 pixels resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.As far as the camera is concerned, the report claims the phone comes with a standard dual-camera system that includes a 50-megapixel main sensor and a much smaller QVGA snapper. There's also a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera on the front.
Honor X6c is powered by a 5,300 mAh battery with 35W wired charging speed support. The phone will also feature IP64 rating and will ship with Magic OS 9.0 based on Android 15. On paper, Honor X6c feels like a dumbed down version of its bigger brother, Honor X7c, which made its debut on the market back in October. The former has slightly smaller display, battery, and camera, as well as a different chipset.
What sets the Honor X6c apart from the previous model is the AI button on the left side. All in all, the X6c should be more affordable than the X7c judging by the leaked specs. Just for reference, Honor X7c costs around €150, the upcoming model should be even cheaper.

Should Samsung keep this tradition, and we believe it will, you might be in for up to $1,400 off the Galaxy Z Fold 7 . That sounds like a pretty solid bargain for a handset that's anything but cheap. Expected pre-order deals at Amazon While Samsung usually offers the best pre-order deals on its book-like foldables, Amazon will likely have a great launch offer in its own right. The e-commerce giant usually celebrates pre-orders with an Amazon Gift Card and a free storage upgrade. Last year's model arrived with a $300 gift card on top of the $120 discount (free storage upgrade). The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 will probably launch with a similar offer, making Amazon a solid alternative for early buyers. Expected pre-order deals at Verizon Are you a Verizon customer? In that case, you should consider getting the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 with a plan by your favorite carrier. Over here, you can expect at least $800 off with any phone trade-in in any condition, though the pre-order deal will likely only work with new line activations on select Unlimited plans. Expected pre-order deals at T-Mobile We expect T-Mobile 's Galaxy Z Fold 7 pre-order deal to be even better than what Verizon is likely to offer, so T-Mobile fans are in for a treat. Users who pre-order at the official store on a select T-Mobile plan could get a free year of Samsung Care+ ($156 value). But that's not all; there might be a $220 discount on the book-like foldable. Additionally, trade-ins will likely be accepted. Users with the right device in good condition might be able to save an extra $1,100 on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 asking price. As usual, T-Mobile will probably apply the promotional credit through 24 monthly bill credits. Expected pre-order deals at AT&T If AT&T sticks to its usual approach, you might be able to save on more than just the Z Fold 7 during the pre-order period. For example, the carrier allowed users to grab a free storage upgrade on the 512GB model and get an extra up to $1,100 with eligible device trade-ins. ChatGPT might eventually challenge Google Search, but the AI platform has a long way to go
There has been plenty of talk about the upcoming demise of Google Search as many analysts are forecasting that AI platforms like ChatGPT will eventually replace Google Search. But we are a long way from seeing AI apps and platforms completely take over the search business from Google. This year, Google Search has been processing 13.5 billion search requests a day compared to 1 billion search requests a day for ChatGPT. While ChatGPT ties with TikTok for 12th place, a position that many might consider outstanding after such a brief period of time, it doesn't come close to Google and makes you wonder when AI will become a stronger rival for the current Search leader. In case you're wondering, after Google, Instagram search is second with 6.5 billion searches followed by Chinese tech company Baidu; the latter runs 5 billion search requests daily. Snap and Amazon are numbers four and five with daily search numbers of 4 billion and 3.5 billion each day. respectively. The data was generated by NP Digital. By the way, ChatGPT reached 1 billion searches a day 5.5 times faster than Google Search did and that bodes well for the future placement of the AI LLM on this list. Also interesting, 60% of Google Search requests end without a click. Reading the answers provided by AI Overviews, Featured Snippets, and Knowledge Panels on Google Search, all of which offer immediate answers to a question without having to go to another website, typically ends a search request immediately. ChatGPT would have to outdo Google with its ability to retrieve and index the open web. And perhaps most importantly, those who traditionally use search engines would have to feel comfortable using AI. The same source says that ChatGPT offers more useful responses than Google does for the following tasks: Complex reasoning Creative writing Explaining things in plain language Summarizing long content Interactive problem-solving Using ChatGPT to get answers related to the above tasks means avoiding the long list of multiple recommendations made by Google Search. One could say that in these five situations, ChatGPT has already surpassed Google as being more useful. Still, if you're looking for a search tool to confirm a quick fact or a specific website, Google Search might be best. On the other hand, if you need something explained to you, or there is a process that you want to know about, ChatGPT will give you a better, more detailed response. This doesn't mean that ChatGPT and other AI platforms can't become the search leaders eventually. It means that right now some of the public is scared of AI, and having heard that it is prone to hallucinations, would prefer to stick with Google Search. The first step to getting the public used to using AI to replace currently used search tools is to have device owners turn to AI instead of digital assistants. If an iPhone user asks Siri a question that she can't answer, the assistant will ask if it is okay to have ChatGPT respond. If the user answers in the affirmative, a response from ChatGPT is shown. On Android devices, Google is starting to replace the Google Assistant with its Gemini LLM (Large Language Model). Queries are sent to Google's servers running the AI models and answers are sent from these servers. When the user needs to set an alarm or timer via Gemini, a Utility Extension is used which allows Google's Gemini to create the requested timer or alarm.
