How posh are you really? Take my privilege test
Secondly, do you know that the Cresta Run is, in fact, not a run? Very privileged if so. Add on 100 bonus points to your score if you've actually done it.
Do you have a very small, very old telly instead of a vast flat-screen? Privileged!
Do you play charades three or more times a year, and sometimes have scrambled eggs for supper? I'm afraid you may be an enemy of the people if so.
Do you have a tin of Colman's Mustard powder in your cupboard (probably you call it a larder or pantry), because you much prefer making it yourself, in an eggcup, rather than the ready-made stuff? Whoops, this is an absolute giveaway. I would imagine, if you do feel this way about Colman's Mustard, you may also still refer to Kenya as Keeenya? I once challenged a member of my family who referred to the country as such, whereupon he blinked at me, confused, and said 'What? It's just the same as still calling Zimbabwe Rhodesia.' If you happen to be in the Keeenya or even Rhodesia camp, I'm afraid that's quite a few privilege points.
If you refer to the drawing room, and that's also where you open your Christmas presents but strictly after lunch (never before), then these mean you're similarly awful and entitled.
Do you also have a downstairs loo which contains any of the following: a school team photo; a framed engagement or birth announcement; a photo of a relative on a horse; a Matt cartoon compendium; a well-thumbed pile of Country Life copies, dating back to the 1980s? Should you have all of these things, you might as well go straight to the nearest police station and hand yourself in.
Do you believe that central heating, and certainly a house that's too warm, is slightly common? This has the whiff of privilege, as does any snobbery towards visitors' books. I've grown up being taught that it's enormously naff to leave comments in the visitors' book, and that you should simply write your name and your address. Sometimes, I look at the entry in the visitors' book before mine and think how lovely and cheerful it is that the previous guest wrote so eloquently and charmingly about the food and the comfort of the beds, and I forlornly wish I could bring myself to do the same. But the trouble is I'm been conditioned to believe that compliments like that in the visitors' book are infra dig and should be left for my thank-you letter. I'm so sorry. Forgive me, Father, and all that.
Are you either alarmed by the sound of the Gay Gordons, or an enthusiastic participant? Westminster City Council would be appalled if you're the latter.

Prolific tout allowed to flog 300 tickets on StubHub for Lewis Capaldi's sold out return show
The ticket seller has been punting briefs for some of the biggest events of the past year TOUT OF ORDER Prolific tout allowed to flog 300 tickets on StubHub for Lewis Capaldi's sold out return show Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A SERIAL ticket tout was allowed to flog hundreds of tickets for Lewis Capaldi's sold out shows. But shameless ticket touts are out to take advantage of fans desperate to see their favourite stars by trying to sell them tickets at inflated prices. One prolific tout was able to target the Someone You Loved singer's events on resale sites StubHub, reports The Guardian. A seller called TG Cyprus Event Services Ltd (TGCES) was flogging 306 tickets for his opening show in Sheffield on September 6 for up to £248 - more than triple the amount punters would pay from event organisers. The ticket seller has been punting briefs for some of the biggest events of the past year. They were advertising over 1,500 tickets for the epic Oasis reunion tour and seats at the Wimbledon final for a whopping £41,900-a-pop. Lisa Webb, a law expert at the consumer group Which?, blasted the reseller and called for ministers to take action against touts. She told the paper: 'This is yet another example of a broken ticketing industry that desperately needs fixing. 'Which? is calling on ministers to urgently put a stop to the touts and introduce a price cap to ensure that tickets can only be resold on secondary sites at the original price paid. 'Resale platforms must also be forced to verify that the seller owns a ticket before it can be listed on their site.' 'So many crying kids' as Scots Sabrina Carpenter fans refused entry to Hydro in 'fake' ticket chaos We told how Sir Keir Starmer has pledged to slap a 10 per cent cap on resale prices. A spokesperson for StubHub said: 'We enforce strict measures to protect consumers. 'Any ticket listings found not to be compliant with our requirements are removed.' The official ticket retailer for Capaldi's shows, Ticketmaster, also backed action against ticket touts. A spokesperson said: 'Ticketmaster has capped resale prices at face value since 2018. We fully support the government's plans for an industry-wide cap that would remove the incentive for touts to exploit fans and prevent them from paying inflated prices on unauthorised sites. 'We also urge the government to take further action by cracking down on bots and banning speculative ticket sales.'

Two Doors Down at the Gilded Balloon
Gordon (Kieran Hodgson) enrages Cathy (Doon Mackichan) with his impression on her in Two Doors Down (Picture: BBC / Alan Peebles) We've made it to the halfway point of the Fringe at Gilded Balloon, we opened a new venue, supported hundreds of new artists and battled storm Floris. It's been a pleasure seeing him return to stand up with a brilliant and very powerful show after a 10 year gap. Jenny Eclair kicked-off our 40 Years of Fringe: In Conversation series last week. It was great to have her back at Gilded Balloon and look back at her wonderful career highlights. Doon Mackichan and Kieran Hodgson of 'Two Doors Down' are doing three shows chatting about the TV series. Then Michelle McManus will interview new Scottish comics on the last weekend. Rosie O'Donnell also finished her sell out run on Sunday with a huge display of four large confetti canons set off in the venue to celebrate her debut show at the Fringe. I have to say that the staff were not too chuffed to have to clear up tons of confetti – but the show was definitely worth it. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad As a run ends, another begins and I'm overjoyed to be welcoming Doon Mackichan, Fiona Allen and Sally Phillips back together with Smack the Pony opening this Sunday 17th. All four shows sold out well in advance of the festival so I can't wait to see what they will get up to. I will try and persuade them to come back together for more shows in future. With funny women at the core of Gilded Balloon's programming each year, it's been a great joy to relaunch our Women in Comedy mixed-bill show from the 90s. Featuring all women and marginalised genders from across the festival, the show runs at 9pm Thursday to Sunday for the next two weekends and is a great way to see some legends of the scene as well as rising talent. A personal highlight for me this year has been the fabulous Gail Watson starring in the moving and hilarious show Faye's Red Lines. A star of Edinburgh's beloved panto, Gail has been charming audiences and has now been shortlisted for a Scottish Theatre Award on the Fringe, alongside some glowing reviews. I'm excited to see all of our new and ongoing shows continue to charm and amaze audiences this year. This includes the Heats for So You Think You're Funny? which started this week. This is our comedy competition for new and exciting comics from across the country, and I can't wait to see the top acts in our grand final next Thursday. It's always a great opportunity for Edinburgh locals to discover and support huge talents before they're household names, so I would absolutely encourage anyone looking for something different to come along to the Gilded Balloon. After 40 years in the business it's a pleasure to bring all these shows to the Fringe!
