Palestinian National Council thanks Egypt for its rejection of displacement of Palestinians
CAIRO, Feb 12 (MENA) - Palestinian National Council President Rawhi Fattouh on Wednesday expressed thanks to Egypt's leadership and people for their great efforts in helping the Palestinians in Gaza since the start of the Israeli war.
He also thanked Egypt for its rejection of displacement of the Palestinians.
Fattouh made the remarks during a meeting with Egypt's Ambassador to Palestine Ehab Suleiman.
He underlined the need to intensify the flow of humanitarian aid to all areas in Gaza.
Ambassador Suleiman highlighted Egypt's ongoing efforts to facilitate aid entry and receive injured Palestinians for medical treatment, reiterating Egypt's tireless efforts to cement the ceasefire and implement it fully.

Israa Farhan More than 300,000 people took to the streets of Rome on Saturday to demand an immediate end to what demonstrators described as a massacre in Gaza, marking one of the largest protests in Italy in recent years. Opposition figures urged Meloni to recognize the State of Palestine, asserting that Palestinians deserve the same right to peace and sovereignty as Israelis. Giuseppe Conte, head of the Five Star Movement and Italy's former prime minister, condemned the government's position, calling it a national disgrace. He accused Italy of passively allowing the destruction of Gaza, highlighting the deaths of over 60,000 Palestinians, including 16,000 children, and the destruction of schools, hospitals, and homes. Conte labelled the crisis a genocide and firmly rejected claims of antisemitism, stating that criticizing Netanyahu's government is not equivalent to hatred against Jews. Leaders of the Green Alliance echoed this sentiment, condemning the supply of arms to Israel. Nicola Fratoianni, a senior member of the alliance, criticized Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini for travelling to Tel Aviv and shaking hands with Netanyahu, calling the gesture shameful. Fratoianni demanded that Italy and the European Union take concrete action by recognizing Palestinian statehood, suspending the EU-Israel agreement, halting arms deals, and imposing sanctions. Pakistan Appeals for International Intervention to Curb Indian Escalation
Israa Farhan Pakistan has called on global powers to intervene and help resolve key issues with India amid ongoing tensions between the two neighbours. This appeal came from a senior Pakistani delegation that arrived in London on Sunday to present Islamabad's position. Earlier this month, Pakistan launched an extensive lobbying campaign in the United States to share its perspective on the recent conflict with India and counter increasing influence from pro-New Delhi lobbying groups. As part of its global diplomatic effort, the delegation will also visit Brussels, according to Pakistan's Dawn newspaper. The high-profile delegation includes former Foreign Ministers Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Hina Rabbani Khar, Khurram Dastgir, alongside Senators Sherry Rehman, Musadik Malik, Faisal Subzwari, and Bushra Anjum Butt. OPEN// Egypt, Nigeria FMs discuss economic ties and African security
CAIRO, June 7 (MENA) – Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Minister Badr Abdelatty praised the strong ties and historical relationship between Egypt and Nigeria, highlighting a shared commitment to building on existing opportunities to advance cooperation—particularly in economic, trade, and investment sectors, with a focus on agriculture. During a phone call on Saturday with Nigerian Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar, Abdelatty pointed to the significant presence of Egyptian companies across Africa and voiced interest in exploring new joint investment opportunities that offer mutual benefit. The two ministers exchanged views on developments across the African continent and discussed ways to deepen cooperation and coordinate positions within the African Union to strengthen peace and security—especially in the Sahel region. Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's readiness to support efforts to counter terrorism and extremism in light of security threats in the Sahel. He also emphasized Egypt's commitment to supporting Nigeria through capacity-building programs, including cooperation with Al-Azhar in combating extremist ideologies. The conversation also included an exchange of perspectives on Middle East developments, particularly the situation in Gaza. Abdelatty briefed his Nigerian counterpart on Egypt's ongoing efforts to broker a ceasefire and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid, while condemning Israel's continued violations of international law and international humanitarian law and its actions against Palestinian civilians, which he said run counter to global calls for an immediate end to the war and unimpeded humanitarian access.
