Watch: Rishabh Pant Throws Ball In Anger As Massive Controversy Erupts After Umpire Refuses To...
India vice-captain Rishabh Pant had an animated chat with the on-field umpire during the ongoing first Test against England in Leeds. The incident happened in the first session on Day 3 as Pant was not happy with the condition of the Dukes ball. He approached the umpire, asking him to have a look at the ball. While the umpire did have a look at the ball by passing it through the gauge, Pant's appeal did not lead to any fruit. In a viral video, Pant was clearly not satisfied with whatever the umpire told him, and threw the ball away in frustration.
The incident happened in the 63rd over when England captain Ben Stokes was batting alongside Harry Brook.

Before the start of play on Day 3, India and England players wore black armbands to pay their respect to former fast bowler David Lawrence, who passed away on Sunday. He was 61.
Lawrence, who was affectionately known as 'Syd', played five Tests (18 wickets) and a lone ODI (4 wickets) for England between 1988 and 1992.
Lawrence, the first British-born Black cricketer to represent England, was battling motor neurone disease (MND) since last year.
"Both teams are wearing black armbands to pay their respects to former England Cricketer, David 'Syd' Lawrence, who has sadly passed away. There was a moment's applause before the start of play on Day 3," the BCCI said in a statement.
Lawrence was diagnosed with the disease in 2024, a degenerative condition that affects the brain and nerves, leading to muscle wastage and there is no known cure to it.
He had also authored a book 'Syd's Voice' to create awareness about MND and was involved in charity to raise funds for other patients.
A Gloucestershire legend, Lawrence amassed 515 wickets from 185 First-Class matches and 155 wickets from 113 List A games.
A promising bowler with extreme pace of his time, Lawrence's international career ended when he suffered a serious kneecap injury while bowling against New Zealand at Wellington in 1992.

Did Pant Play A Quirky Part In Ben Stokes' Dismissal? Stump Mic Audio Goes Viral
Last Updated: Rishabh Pant's chatter behind the stumps played a part in Ben Stokes' dismissal in England's second innings. India's Test vice-captain Rishabh Pant was at his very best yet again behind the stumps, not just with his gloves but also with his chatter, as a viral stump mic audio indicates that he might have played a part in England skipper Ben Stokes' dismissal in England's first innings. Having come in to bat at 225/4 in the 52nd over, Stokes added 51 runs for the fifth wicket with Harry Brook before Mohammed Siraj got the better of him. Stokes had hit three boundaries during his 52-ball stay in the middle, but couldn't get set, and he was dismissed in no time. While Siraj takes the credit, Pant deserves some of it too, besides taking the catch. After the fourth ball of the 64th over from Ravindra Jadeja that Stokes let go, Pant was heard saying, 'Sensible Stokesy", but that didn't draw any reaction from the England skipper. Four deliveries later, he was caught behind. Watch the video here: Meanwhile, the visitors got two welcome wickets of overnight centurion Ollie Pope (106 off 137) and England skipper Stokes (20 off 52). Like day two, the other Indian pacers couldn't match the accuracy of ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah. Harry Brook, dismissed off a Bumrah no-ball at the stroke of stumps on day two, was dropped by Pant on 46 before lunch. Jadeja, who was able to extract a sharp turn from the rough, got one to turn away, but Pant couldn't hold on to the rising delivery. In the same over, Brook completed his 12th Test half-century, adding to the frustration of the Indians, who have been sloppy with their catching till now in the match. Led by skipper Shubman Gill, the Indians were very vocal about their problems with a worn-out Dukes ball throughout the session. The umpires relented before the 75th over, while the new ball will be due after 80 overs.

Jasprit Bumrah Equals Legendary Kapil Dev Record With 5-Wicket Haul
Jasprit Bumrah matched Kapil Dev's record of 12 five-wicket hauls in Tests away from India. Jasprit Bumrah broke multiple records with his 5-wicket haul on day three of the first Test of the five-match series between India and England at Headingley in Leeds on Sunday. Bumrah equalled Indian legend Kapil Dev for the joint-most five-wicket hauls in Tests away from India by an Indian bowler. Bumrah has taken 12 five-wicket hauls in just 34 Test matches, whereas Kapil Dev achieved the same feat in 66 matches. They are followed by Ishant Sharma, who has 9 five-wicket hauls in 63 matches, Zaheer Khan with 8 in 54 matches, and Irfan Pathan with 7 in 15 matches. Most five-wicket hauls for India in away Test matches – Bumrah took the wickets of Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Joe Root, Chris Woakes and Josh Tongue, but could have had more as multiple catches were dropped. Resuming their innings at 209-3 in response to India's 471 all out, England suffered an early setback when overnight centurion Ollie Pope was dismissed for 106. Harry Brook, attempting to reach his century with a six, fell in the second session. Brook had settled in with some crisp hitting, smashing 11 boundaries and bringing up his 12th Test half-century, despite India's fielding lapses. He was handed a third lifeline when he slashed at a wide delivery to Yashasvi Jaiswal at fourth slip, but the Indian opener dropped his third catch of the innings. The Yorkshire-born batter seemed destined for a big score until he attempted a lofted shot off Prasidh Krishna over fine leg, only to be caught by Shardul Thakur at the boundary rope. A dejected Brook threw his head back and covered his face before making his way back to the pavilion, receiving a standing ovation from the Headingley crowd. Krishna had also dismissed Pope with a short delivery, which the batter nicked to Rishabh Pant behind the stumps, adding only six runs to his overnight score.

𝗥 14th 5⃣-wicket haul in Test cricket! 👏 👏 Outstanding bowling display from Jasprit Bumrah at Headingley! 🔝 He now equals the legendary Kapil Dev for the most fifers - 1⃣2⃣ - for India in Away Tests! 🙌 🙌 Updates ▶️ |… — BCCI (@BCCI) June 22, 2025 Bumrah, who was a front-runner to succeed Rohit Sharma as Test captain until his back issues forced the BCCI to turn to Shubman Gill, completed his five-for by removing all-rounder Chris Woakes and Josh Tongue in quick succession shortly before tea on Day 3. Gill's last-minute change of heart allows Bumrah to complete his five-for Gill had initially picked Shardul Thakur to bowl the 99th over of the English innings in place of Mohammed Siraj before changing his mind in the last second and handing the ball to Bumrah. Bumrah promptly responded by breaching Woakes' defence with a delivery that nipped back in late and breached his defence, rattling his stumps. And in his following over, he beat Tongue's outside edge to rattle the off-stump and was promptly mobbed by Siraj and other teammates after achieving yet another milestone. The successive wickets ensured India went into the tea interval with a slender six-run lead, and it was especially his dismissal of Woakes, who departed for 38, that prevented England from not only moving into the lead but potentially crossing the 500-mark.
