Demaryius Thomas elected to Broncos Ring of Fame
The Broncos will be honoring the late Demaryius Thomas this season.
The team announced on Tuesday that Thomas has been elected to the team's Ring of Fame. The wide receiver will be the 38th inductee when he enters the group during halftime of a Week Seven game against the Giants.
Thomas spent over eight seasons with the Broncos after joining the team as a 2010 first-round pick. Thomas was a member of the Super Bowl 50 champions while in Denver and some of his teammates will be on hand for the 10th anniversary celebration of that win.
'Demaryius Thomas' election to the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame — in his first year of eligibility — is a testament to the indelible mark he left on our organization and community,' team owners Greg Penner and Carrie Walton Penner said in a statement. 'One of the most beloved players and greatest wide receivers in franchise history, Demaryius inspired our fans with breathtaking athleticism, record-setting performances and a joyful, infectious spirit. While we wish 'D.T.' was with us to celebrate this special moment, we look forward to honoring Demaryius alongside his Super Bowl 50 teammates during an unforgettable Alumni Weekend.'
Thomas holds the Broncos' single-season receiving yard record and is second in career receiving yards in franchise history. He died in 2021 at the age of 33.

Matt Chapman hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning and the San Francisco Giants beat the Atlanta Braves 3-2 on Saturday for their fourth straight win. Heliot Ramos singled with one out against Braves reliever Pierce Johnson (1-3). After Wilmer Flores popped out, Chapman homered to left for his 12th of the season. It spoiled a stellar start by Atlanta's Bryce Elder, who allowed a run and three hits while striking out 12 in eight innings. The Braves lost their sixth straight. Tyler Rogers (3-2) pitched a scoreless ninth to get the win. Flores had a solo homer to give the Giants a 1-0 lead in the fourth, and Michael Harris went deep to tie fort the Braves in the fifth. Harris' shot came one pitch after Atlanta manager Brian Snitker was ejected for arguing balls and strikes. The Braves took a 2-1 lead in the sixth when Marcell Ozuna beat out a potential double play with the bases loaded and one out as Ronald Acuña Jr. scored the go-ahead run. Key moment With the Giants down to their final out, Chapman squared up an 88 mile-per-hour curveball from Johnson on a 1-1 count in the middle of the strike zone to give San Francisco its second straight walk-off win over Atlanta. Matt Chapman's first Giants walk-off HR gives S.F. another one-run win
San Francisco's hesitant offense has an unhappy tendency of disappearing during Logan Webb 's starts. Going into Saturday, Webb had by far the lowest run support among the Giants ' starters and that continued all the way through his time on the mound against the Braves. Then came the ninth inning, when the Giants used their other offensive technique, the walkoff win, making it two in a row. With two outs and another great Webb performance looking as if it were for naught, Matt Chapman clocked a two-run homer to propel San Francisco to a 3-2 victory over Atlanta, the team's MLB-high eighth walkoff win of the season. It was Chapman's first walkoff homer for San Francisco – and his first walkoff hit and RBI with the team. Atlanta starter Bryce Elder was just as terrific as Webb on Saturday, striking out a career-high 12 and allowing just three hits in eight innings. It was Elder's first career appearance against San Francisco, only one start removed from a 15-day trip to the minors. But Piece Johnson got the ninth and again was on the wrong side of a walkoff; he had also uncorked the decisive wild pitch in the 10th inning on Friday. Trust Webb to be the guy on the mound when an opposing pitcher put together his best start of the year: He gets just 2.8 runs per 27 outs while being the pitcher of record. 'As far as the catching position goes, depth can be ominous,' Melvin said, 'We were pulling for Sam to get a major-league job but he's gotten to know our pitching staff and did well with all our starting pitchers.'
