Who is Emmy, the Norwegian TikTok star representing Ireland at Eurovision?
Eurovision fans are counting down the hours before Norwegian singer Emmy will take to the stage to represent Ireland at the popular singing event in Basel, Switzerland.
The 24-year-old will perform the song Laika Party at the second semi-final, which takes place tonight.
Also performing in the second semi-final tonight will be Armenia, Australia, Austria, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, Georgia, Israel, Luxembourg, Malta and Serbia.
Flying the flag for Ireland in Basel, Emmy was seen walking the turquoise carpet this week ahead of the singing competition.
She was selected to represent Ireland after battling it out on the Late Late Eurosong Special back in February.
Six contestants performed on the special Eurosong show to be crowned the winner and go on to represent Ireland at the international song contest.
The panel on the night commended all of the songs and the performers who delivered them, but ultimately it was Emmy who was selected to represent the country with the song Laika Party after the national jury, international jury, and public votes were counted.
Who is Emmy?
Emmy Kristine Guttulsrud Kristiansen, AKA Emmy, is a 24-year-old singer and graphic designer from the village of Sande, south of the Norwegian capital of Oslo.
She has been writing songs since she was seven, and her career kick-started in 2015 when she, at 15 years old, participated in Melodi Grand Prix Junior - one of the biggest music competitions in her country for children.
Six years later, in 2021, she participated in Melodi Grand Prix, Norway's national selection of a song for the Eurovision Song Contest but she lost out to TIX in the final of the competition.
She went on to post consistently on social media and has since become especially known for singing on TikTok, growing a profile with 1.2 million followers.
She has now been given a second chance at Eurovision as Ireland's entry, teaming up with Irish songwriter Larissa Tormey, whom she met at a songwriting camp in Norway, to create Laika Party — a song based on a Soviet space dog.
Laika was a stray dog from the streets of Moscow who was the first living creature launched into orbit in 1957. Sadly, she died from overheating hours into the flight.
Where can I watch Ireland's performance in the semi-final?
The second semi-final will take place tonight and will air RTÉ 2 and RTÉ player from 8pm. The grand final of the singing competition will take place on Saturday, May 17.
How can I vote?
Viewers can vote over the phone, by text or via the Eurovision app.

Woman forked out for a posh Insta-worthy cake for 21st but what turned up was so bad – it looked more like vomit
A WOMAN was left devastated after ordering a luxury Instagram-worthy cake for her 21st birthday - and what arrived looked like 'vomit.' Alexandra Tobie, from Cape Town, had hoped for a personalised pink sparkly cake for her special milestone event. It also had personalised black and white photos around the edge. However, the birthday girl was left lost for words by the 'ugly' cake that arrived. In a clip on TikTok , Alexandra shared the photo of the cake she had ordered from the bakery, which had the words 'That Girl Since '03'' piped on top. Advertisement More on fails In the expectation vs reality video, she then showed what had arrived. Her cake was floppy and rather amateur looking, and was circular instead of heart-shaped. While it did also bear the writing 'That Girl Since '03'', the text was rather messy and done in garish bright blue and yellow colouring. There were also no photos around the outside of the cake. Rena Davis, from Georgia in the US, had ordered her perfect wedding cake after showing the baker an image of a similar one she had found online. The unusual design was supposed to feature two birds , a heart-shaped cake, and chocolate cupcakes. But what arrived was in stark contrast, with the peacock 's head falling off the "lopsided" cake. Advertisement 5 A bride shared the peacock cake she ordered for her wedding Credit: Kennedy News and Media 5 She hated the 'lopsided' wedding cake she received Credit: Kennedy News and Media Rena was utterly heartbroken, after forking out $300 (almost £250) for the cake a month before the big day. And despite being reassured everything was "going to plan" in the weeks leading up to the wedding, the cake arrived the night before and was nothing like what the 52-year-old imagined. Advertisement Just as the baker drove away, the peacock's head reportedly fell off and Rena realised the fondant icing was actually buttercream. Despite chasing for a refund, Rena claims she was initially refused, but after sharing her ordeal on social media, she received an envelope in her letterbox including $300 (£242). "I felt heartbroken. I saw [the cake] and walked out of the room," she explained. Can you get a full refund if an item arrives and looks nothing like the photos? AROUND one in six people who bought an item online were unhappy with it not matching the product's photos or description, according to a Which? survey. Of these, four in 10 who were upset blamed misleading product pictures as the issue. But can you get a refund if what arrives looks nothing like the snaps? Which? explained that under consumer law, "you're entitled to a full refund if an item you've ordered online doesn't match its description." However, the site found that a quarter of those who had arrived at a settlement with a company didn't receive all their money back. They added: "You have a right to reject items that aren't as described under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. "Providing picture evidence alongside screenshots of the advertised product description or image should help when complaining." "It was a lopsided mess - nothing like I thought it would be like. Advertisement "[Before], we'd heard nothing from her since. She had not called or anything. "The only reason she gave a refund now was because of the viral post. "She said she couldn't give me my money back at first because she had 50 hours in it and she had to pay her mum for helping." We previously shared a series of Advertisement
