Ajax had taken the lead through Anton Gaaei but were pegged back by Thom van Bergen in the second half.
Former Manchester United and Burnley striker Wout Weghorst would have thought his 68th-minute goal was going to be enough for a vital three points.
But it was the ten men of the hosts that struck the heartbreaking goal through Thijmen Blokzijl in the dying seconds of added time.
The result sees Ajax fall to second place and one point behind title rivals PSV.

Henderson and co were the favourites for their 37th title with just five games left of the season.
Ajax needed to pick up just six points to be confirmed as league champions.
However, they have stumbled to defeats against Utrecht and NEC as well as a draw with NEC and Groningen before the final game of the season.
Peter Bosz's side took full advantage of Ajax's slips to eradicate the nine-point gap, having won their previous six matches.

A second wrote: "Ajax have bottled it what is happening in the Netherlands."
A third commented: "In rap battles, we call that choking."
A fourth said: "How did Ajax bottle the league title?"
Another added: "As a fan, my head would be on Pluto until the last games bc HOW?"

Footage was captured from the PSV game of the club's supporters and coaches waiting to hear the result of the Ajax match.
Many appeared stressed and expecting the Amsterdam-based club to win but were quickly overjoyed when the late goal went in.
However, the race is not fully over as Ajax manager Francesco Farioli issued a rallying call.
He said: "It's never easy to speak after conceding a last-minute equaliser.
"It's not over yet. We've got one more match to play: let's go.
"We gave it our all, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough. Still, football teaches us that anything can happen."
Henderson, 34, joined Ajax back in January 2024 after leaving Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq.
He has been given the captain's armband but is yet to lift a trophy with the club.

Why Sunderland need 'experience and understanding' to survive

We asked for your questions for BBC Sport pundit Nedum Onuoha on your Premier League asked what Nedum's former club Sunderland can do to strengthen for the challenges of the Premier League next season after securing is a tough question.I would say they need to find people with good Premier League experience that also understand what it takes to galvanise a group to take on a challenge that most of those guys have not experienced before - and can do it as significant underdogs on a week-to-week you bring somebody in who expects to be successful straight away then some of the tougher times might affect the mood. You need someone with experience who is realistic and can also be part of a team do not want to go into the Premier League and just figure it out as you go along. You want to have a plan and to build. It seems like the manager has got a lot of belief in them by finally getting back up there, plus some of the players already there could potentially do well in the top need to find players who will complement that, not ones who are going to be doing things for themselves if things start to go sour because, in reality and as it stands, people do not expect them to win a lot of are going to have to be fighting their way through on a week-to-week basis.I have heard links with Jordan Henderson coming back. I do not know if he will, but if somebody with that much Premier League experience would want to be part of a transition period for the club - and he is also in one himself - then that would be is part of what you need - somebody who will understand the area, understand the fanbase and understand the club. Not somebody who just sees a chance to go and play in the Premier you fail to find the right mix then it will be a real split in terms of those who have come up with the side and those who Sunderland do not get experience and understanding then they will be in a terrible position in a year's time - probably heading back to the Championship but this time without that cohesive feeling they had just a few weeks Onuoha was speaking to BBC Sport's Nat HaywardSunderland fans, this is your Premier League club page. Newcastle's first summer signing breaks silence on move - 'It's a pleasure'

Exciting teenage star Antonio Cordero has put pen to paper on a long-term deal with Newcastle United and is set to officially move to Tyneside on July 1 when his contract with Spanish side Malaga expires Newcastle United have sealed a deal to sign highly-rated Spanish youngster Antonio Cordero. The teenage starlet will move to Tyneside on a free transfer when his current deal with Malaga expires on July 1. Despite being just 18, Cordero has already notched up 60 appearances for the Andalusian outfit, contributing significantly to their survival in the Spanish Segunda Division this season following their promotion the previous year. Highly-promising Cordero chipped in with six goals and seven assists in the league ‌ The youngster's arrival is subject to completion of the Premier League's registration process and the player obtaining a UK visa. But he couldn't hide his excitement when speaking out on Thursday about the move. ‌ "It's truly an honour to be here, truly a pleasure," he remarked. "I am a person who likes to aspire high. Why not come to one of the best places in the world to do it? "It's a big step, and that's one of the reasons I'm here. I'm happy to do it and have a great desire to get going already." Cordero's exploits for both club and country - after excelling for Spain's youth sides - had put clubs across Europe on red alert. Both Barcelona and Real Madrid have been credited as holding an interest Ultimately, it was the Magpies under the guidance of outgoing sporting director Paul Mitchell who offered him the most compelling route forward, convincing Cordero to ply his trade in the Premier League. "Antonio is an exciting talent. We're delighted to bring him to Newcastle United amidst interest in Spain and across Europe," remarked Mitchell. "He has lots of potential, and the next phase of his development will be for the club to select a loan move that will challenge him and build on his experiences." Dutch side Ajax are being tipped as favourites to take Cordero on a season-long loan for 2025-26.

‘It was supposed to stay confidential' – Rory McIlroy ‘p***ed off' after private information is leaked

RORY McILROY was 'p***ed off' that news of his driver failing technical standards was leaked at last month's USPGA Championship. Two days before the tournament, the club was pulled from his bag after official testing showed it crossed the 'trampoline effect' threshold — when the club face becomes more springy. 2 Rory McIlroy admitted he was frustrated that news of his driver failing a technical test was leaked Credit: Getty 2 Scottie Scheffler's driver also failed Credit: Getty Failures are supposed to be confidential with no blame attached to the player but the news broke on the Friday evening. World No 1 Scottie Scheffler's driver also failed but that never became public until he revealed it at his winner's press conference. Masters champ McIlroy, 36, left Quail Hollow without speaking a word in public. Ahead of teeing up in the Canadian Open, which starts today, the Northern Irishman said: 'I was a little p***ed off because I knew that Scottie's driver had failed but my name was the one that was leaked. It was supposed to stay confidential. 'I didn't want to get up there and say something that I regretted, either, because I'm trying to protect Scottie, I don't want to mention his name.' He went on to add: "I'm trying to protect TaylorMade. I'm trying to protect the USGA, PGA of America, myself. I just didn't want to get up there and say something that I regretted. "With Scottie's stuff, that's not my information to share. I knew that that had happened, but that's not on me to share that, and I felt that process is supposed to be kept confidential, and it wasn't for whatever reason. That's why I was pretty annoyed at that. "From a responsibility standpoint, look, I understand, but if we all wanted to, we could all bypass you guys and we could just go on this and we could go on social media and we could talk about our round and do it our own way. CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS "I think there should be an understanding that this is a two-way street, and as much as we need to speak to you guys, we're sort of, like we understand the benefit that comes from you being here and giving us the platform and everything else. So I understand that. "But again, I've been beating this drum for a long time. If they want to make it mandatory, that's fine, but in our rules it says that it's not, and until the day that that's maybe written into the regulations, you're going to have guys skip from time to time, and that's well within our rights." Jack Nicklaus stunned as Rory McIlroy ghosts Memorial Tournament host and golf legend ahead of PGA Tour Signature event Scheffler won the PGA Championship last month, marking his third major title. He finished at 11-under 273, five strokes clear of the field in Charlotte.
