Our Mirror fashion team got an early look at Boohoo's summer range, and it's packed with surprisingly high-quality pieces...
One of the perks of our job on a fashion desk is that we get to see early glimpses of new fashion collections before they hit the rails. And last week, we got a sneak peek at Boohoo's latest summer drop. If you had any reservations about the quality or fit of Boohoo products, trust us, you won't after seeing these new-in launches.
Playing on summer picnic style, the range features holiday and staycation essentials in breezy linen and silk-like fabrics, fun gingham and stripe prints, and with fruit print motifs. Many of the pieces also come with petite and plus options, meaning there's something for everyone.
We spotted five key trends in the collection, ranging from cherry red to skorts, and we predict these pieces below will sell out fast! 'Add to basket' fingers at the ready...
Beaded sandals
Capri Beaded Sliders, £20
Ibiza Beaded Sliders, £12.50
Beaded slider sandals are set to be the hero shoe of summer 2025 – and it's easy to see why. This season's take blends laid-back, beachy ease with elevated, artisanal detail. Think intricate beadwork, playful embellishments and colour-pop accents that instantly lift a simple outfit. We spotted these two 'Ibiza' and 'Capri' pairs in gorgeous colourways.
Co-ord sets
Tie Side Linen Top & Wide Leg Trouser Co-ord, £25.20
Gingham Woven Boxy Co-Ord, £25.20
Plus Stripe Linen Look Oversized Shirt, £19.80 (+ matching trousers)
Co-ord sets are having a major moment for summer 2025, with linen and satin-like fabrics leading the charge. From crisp, breathable linen that keeps things cool to silky finishes that catch the light just right, this trend is all about ease and elegance. The beauty of a co-ord lies in its instant polish– throw it on and you're done. There's plenty of choice in Boohoo's new range, but these three above are perfect for daytime or evening dressing.
Mini dresses
Petite Tailored Cowl Detail Wrap Mini Dress, £28.80
Stripe Sleeveless A-Line Mini Dress, £12
Stripe Ruched Flare Cuff Shirt Dress, £24
The mini dress is making a strong comeback for summer 2025, but forget the bodycon bandage styles millennials once lived in. This season's take is softer, more playful, and refreshingly effortless. Think babydoll shapes, flippy hems, and light fabrics that move with the breeze, often styled with flats or chunky trainers for a modern edge. Whether it's puff sleeves, cut-out details or a simple strappy silhouette, the new mini feels flirty without fuss.
Cherry red
Linen Tie Back Puff Sleeve Midaxi Dress, £22.50
Mon Cheri Applique Oversized T-Shirt, £12.80
Cherry red is set to be the standout shade of summer 2025: bold, juicy and impossible to ignore. This vibrant hue is showing up everywhere, from slinky slip dresses to tailored co-ords and statement accessories, offering a punchy alternative to soft pastels or neutral basics. Whether worn head-to-toe or as a single pop against denim or white, cherry red brings instant energy.
Skorts
Short With Double Split Skirt Layover, £13
Skorts are making an unexpected, and very welcome, comeback this summer, blending the polish of a mini skirt with the practicality of shorts. Perfect for busy days, festivals, or just keeping things breezy and effortless, they're popping up in everything from crisp cottons to fluid satins. This time around, think tailored cuts, sporty silhouettes and minimalist styling. Less Y2K, more elevated ease.
Looking for other new-in collections to shop? M&S has just dropped its own summer range featuring gorgeous pieces for holidays. However, you'll need to head into your nearest store to shop the range, since the ongoing cyber attack is still ruling out online shopping for the moment. Alternatively, H&M's summer range is online and offers designer-looking silhouettes for much less than you'd think.

Zara McDermott stuns in backless pink dress during Ibiza break after loved-up holiday with boyfriend Louis Tomlinson
ZARA McDermott stunned in a backless pink dress during her latest Ibiza break after returning from a loved-up holiday with her boyfriend Louis Tomlinson. Love Island star Zara, 28, looked radiant in the figure-hugging maxi dress, which featured floral detailing around the neckline and a dramatic ruffled skirt. Sharing the snaps to Instagram on Friday, Zara posed barefoot with her tan glowing against the soft baby pink fabric. She kept her accessories minimal, wearing a beaded bracelet and silver earrings, while her highlighted hair was styled in beachy waves. A dewy makeup look finished off the ensemble, which she simply captioned: 'Me in a dress.' Zara's just returned from another getaway - this time to Costa Rica with her boyfriend Louis Tomlinson, 33. The One Direction star and reality beauty couldn't keep their hands off each other on a sun-soaked day out. They were spotted hiring a quad bike, with Louis taking the lead as they cruised through town. The History singer wore an orrange T-shirt and white shorts, which he teamed with black sunglasses and a baseball cap. Zara stunned in loose white trousers and a crop top layered over her green bikini. At one point Louis puffed on a cigarette while they waited for their ride, with a smitten Zara wrapping her arms around him. Louis returned the affection by gently squeezing her bum and planting a kiss. They were later seen grinning at each other before hopping on the quad bike and driving away. Louis flew the Strictly star out in first class to a secluded villa last week. He's currently working on new music there and wanted to spend some quality time with Zara after going public with their romance. She was previously seen locking lips with her new pop star beau as they dined at a restaurant. A source said: 'Louis and Zara are going from strength to strength. 'He got his team to organise her first-class travel from London to Costa Rica. 'It meant Zara was unable to attend the TV Baftas but she is keen to spend as much time with Louis as possible." Louis will be back in the UK for Soccer Aid next week and is set to play on the England side with Zara's ex Sam Thompson. Zara split from former Made In Chelsea star Sam in January, moving out of Sam's West London home, and leaving behind the two cats they shared. She has decided to skip Soccer Aid to avoid an awkward run-in with her ex. Zara and Louis confirmed their romance on holiday in Los Angeles over a month ago. The pair were snapped holding hands in a sweet PDA during their trip to the US. The Sun revealed they were an item after they were spotted enjoying an overnight stay at The Suffolk in Aldeburgh in exclusive photos. It came amid reports that Zara had formed close bonds with Louis' sisters Phoebe and Daisy. They recently teased a new reality show, with sources claiming Zara has been helping them behind the scenes thanks to her experience as a TV presenter and documentary maker. 5 5 5 5

Britain's Got Talent's surprising moments - tearful breakdown to judges' smooch
The final of this year's Britain's Got Talent airs tonight, with the remaining acts hoping to impress the judges, audience and viewers at home. Here, the Mirror has taken a look back at the most shocking moments from the long-running ITV talent show After weeks of acts from across the nation taking to the stage with their vocals, dance moves and peculiar skills, the final of Britain's Got Talent airs tonight. The judges, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, Bruno Tonioli, and guest judge KSI, certainly had their hands full as a myriad of acts rallied for a place in the final on Saturday, May 31. The victorious act will walk away with a hefty £250,000 cash prize and a slot to perform at the Royal Variety Performance. The grand final on Saturday will showcase semi-final golden buzzer winners The Blackouts, Olly Pearson, Jasmine Rice, Joseph Charm, and, most recently, Harry Moulding. Joining them, thanks to winning the public vote in the semi-finals, are Vinnie McKee, Stacey Leadbeatter, Ping Pong Pang, Hear Our Voice, and nine-year-old dancing sensation Binita. As we watch the 2025 BGT final, we've taken a trip down memory lane and revisited some of the show's most shocking moments... Final withdraw Susan Boyle's 2009 audition remains one of the most unforgettable moments in BGT history. However, Simon disclosed that he offered the singer the chance to withdraw from the final. After capturing the nation's hearts with her rendition of Les Misérables' classic, 'I Dreamed a Dream,' Susan attracted massive media attention, leading music mogul Simon to have a candid chat with the singer. While on Lorraine, Simon explained: "The lead up to the week of the final we sat down with her and her friends. We said, 'Look, if it's too stressful, because it's all over the media...' "She said it was fine, she's going to do it. And I'm thinking, 'Fine, she's going to win.' And I'll never forget it [when they said] 'The winner is Diversity'. "I was on that stage under 20 seconds saying into her [ear], 'We've got an album deal. Literally from that moment." Simon stated that from that point forward, it was up to her when she wanted to make an album and assured that she was "part of the family" now. Tearful breakdown When ten-year-old Hollie Steel appeared on the show in 2009, it was heart-wrenching to watch her total collapse as she forgot the lyrics to her song. Visibly trembling and crying, Hollie ran off the stage to her mother, leaving viewers questioning whether the pressure of the show was simply too much for someone so young. She pleaded for another chance to perform, and producers initially refused, leaving Hollie distraught. She was eventually allowed to try her performance again at the end of the show, but viewers were still incensed at the debacle, claiming she was being exploited. 'Fixing' BGT faced backlash from irate viewers who accused the show of "setting up" singer Jessica Hobson in 2011. A heartbroken Jessica was reduced to tears after Simon and David Hasselhoff harshly criticised her rendition of Beyonce's Single Ladies. Simon dismissed the piano performance as "dated" and scoffed at her "silly dress". When confronted by Ant and Dec about her song choice, she admitted: "I didn't choose what I wanted to sing.. Apparently it was somebody..." but before she could finish, her microphone was abruptly cut off, leading her to break down in tears. This incident left viewers speculating whether the young singer had been deliberately undermined by producers' song selection. Allegations of the show's fixes have mounted with instances of contestants being headhunted rather than spontaneously auditioning. After Kojo Anim secured his spot in the 2019 final, some pointed fingers at judge Alesha Dixon for favouritism, given their friendship. Alesha also had to justify her Golden Buzzer decision for Lifford Shillingford after it was revealed he had toured with her former band, Mis-Teeq, sparking further speculation of insider bias. Sad loss Ashleigh and Pudsey, the dog and owner duo, clinched victory in the sixth series of the show in 2012 and became the first canine act to win the competition. They told the hearts of the nation, and the pooch even starred in his own film, Pudsey: The Movie. Sadly, Pudsey passed away in July 2017, and while Ashleigh now performs with another dog named Sully, she stated he would "never become Pudsey". Infamous smooch The unforgettable moment in 2013 when Simon audaciously kissed fellow judge Amanda's bottom is forever imprinted in our memories. During a performance by 71-year-old Kelly Fox, who sang a cheeky number titled 'Kiss My Ass, Baby' by The All Purpose Blues Band, Amanda couldn't resist shaking her hips, prompting Simon, seemingly moved by the tune, to plant a kiss on her posterior. Post-kiss, Simon cheekily asked Amanda: "I kissed your ass. Did you like that?" To which she responded with gratitude and amusement, saying: "It was a first." Raunchy acts During her audition in 2013, Keri Graham stripped to a scant outfit and presented Simon with an erotic lap dance, sparking complaints. The performance led to disgruntlement among several viewers, with one irate parent tweeting: "Nice family viewing as your child asks 'Mummy, why has that lady got hardly any clothes on, and what is she doing with those men?'" When burlesque artist Beatrix Von Bourbon performed a dance that was deemed too racy in 2012, the show attracted further backlash. Over 70 viewers lodged complaints to Ofcom, disapproving of its suitability for a family audience. Stunt double dog In 2015, Jules O'Dwyer graced the stage with her dog Matisse and triumphantly won the show. However, there was an uproar among viewers when they discovered a stunt double dog was used instead of Matisse for a tightrope trick, igniting feelings of deception. Jules explained that the real Matisse was scared of heights, which necessitated the use of a stand-in. But viewers were not convinced, as the dogs were identical and the act had been promoted as just Jules and Matisse. Ofcom was inundated with over 200 complaints following the controversial incident, which even led to death threats being sent to the pair. It was ruled that ITV had misled the public, though Jules was not stripped of her £250,00 prize money. Risqué gown Amanda Holden left the audience stunned during BGT's grand finale in 2019 with her choice of a racy, transparent gown. The judge turned heads as she dazzled the crowd in her revealing ensemble decorated with floral patterns. Her bold fashion choice came after Ofcom received complaints the previous week about her provocative wardrobe choices. Twitter, now X, was set ablaze with comments regarding Amanda's attire for the night. One viewer wrote: "Amanda loves to show a bit of t** don't she #BGT." Another added: "Glad you've ignored the uptight critics!". Winner boos Comedian Viggo Venn was left stunned when he was announced as the winner in 2023, following his act of jumping around the stage in a giant balloon and dancing in his iconic hi-vis jackets. He sprinted around the stage in celebration, even knocking over host Ant McPartlin, as he scooped up the £250,000 prize and a spot on the Royal Variety Show. However, the audience's reaction was marred by boos, prompting viewers to share their thoughts on X, formerly Twitter. One user posted: "Very surprised. But Viggo was very funny. Very distasteful for anyone to boo Viggo. Not his fault he won, people voted for him, not anyone else. Made it a sour end thanks to the audience reaction. Well done, Viggo!!!" Another user tweeted: "Sounded like a lot of boos there when #ViggoVenn was announced as the winner of #BritainsGotTalent. I thought he was great, but a shock omission from the final 3, and I think everyone thought the young lad would win. Bit of a deflated, down-beat end to the series #BGT2023 #BGT." One disgruntled viewer remarked: "Did you hear them boo's on @BGT? Quite right too, ridiculous. So much more talent in that final tonight. #BGT2023 should not have made the live shows. Poor winner."

Danny Dyer 'pulled out all of the stops' for daughter Dani's lavish wedding
EXCLUSIVE: Dani Dyer has married her footballer boyfriend Jarrod Bowen in a stunning ceremony attended by family and friends, with the reality star looking every inch the beautiful bride Danny Dyer is said to have pulled out 'all of the stops' for his daughter Dani's lavish wedding to West Ham player Jarrod Bowen in a 'thank you' as the actor is said to owe some of his career to his eldest. The former Love Island star looked every inch the beautiful bride on Saturday as she tied the knot to Jarrod in a stunning ceremony, surrounded by family and friends. The big day came four years after Dani and Jarrod's relationship began, with the pair meeting while the former was navigating life as a single mum to Santiago, her son with her ex, Sammy Kimmence. Beginning as neighbours, friendship blossomed into love for the couple and in May 2023, they had their own twin daughters, Summer and Star. And now that the duo are husband and wife, a source tells Mirror how Dani is hoping to have a long-lasting marriage like her own parents; Danny and Joanne Mas. 'Family is everything to Dani and Danny is the same way. He pulled out all of the stops to make sure it's a wedding no one would forget for his little girl – the best day of her life. He adores her and actually says he's got her to thank for some things because Dani winning Love Island boosted his career too. 'Dani feels she has found her soulmate in Jarrod and it's a relief after she's had so many ups and downs. Everyone else loves him too. Jarrod and Danny get on so well, which was important to Dani, so it was always going to be a wonderful celebration for the family.' Danny and Joanne were childhood sweethearts, but they only got married in 2016. They have been together for more than three decades – and their relationship has survived a few bumps in the road. Shortly after the birth of their first child, Dani, the couple ended up taking a short break from each other before reuniting and having two more children, Sunnie and Arty. In an episode of ITV series The Assembly, which was broadcast in April, Danny, 47, spoke about their relationship, which has survived multiple cheating allegations throughout his career. Describing how he felt about his wife after their wedding, Danny said, 'To be standing here with the girl I grew up with – looking so beautiful in her wedding dress – that is a lovely thing. Jo is my best girl, the love of my life. Without her, I would be nothing.' Dani previously admitted she was sceptical about getting serious with Jarrod and couldn't believe he wanted to 'take on' both Dani and her young son, who is now four. Opening up about their early days, Dani revealed it was in fact her dad who warned her she was going to 'lose him' if she didn't stop trying to 'put him off'. It was her parents' advice that gave her the motivation to make things work with the footballer. Speaking to Giovanna Fletcher on her Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, Dani said, 'I don't know why I kept doing that to him. In the end, I was getting to a point where my mum and dad were like, 'Listen, Dani, you're going to end up losing him. Stop it! He wants to take you and Santi on. He's more than happy to do that. So just appreciate that and be happy that he wants to.'' Indeed, Dani's dad has shown constant support for the couple since they got together. Chatting on The Jonathan Ross Show in February, he admitted he was 'on the verge of tears' when Jarrod called him to 'ask for her hand in marriage'. Gushing over the footballer, who is West Ham's captain, Danny described him as a 'very humble, brilliant, beautiful man who worships the ground she walks on'.
