The
United Arab Emirates
created history on Wednesday at the
Sharjah Cricket Stadium
, sealing their first-ever T20I bilateral series triumph over Bangladesh with a convincing seven-wicket win in the final match of the three-game series.
The victory gave UAE a 2-1 series result, marking a significant milestone in the country's cricketing journey.
Alishan Sharafu struck the winning boundary through covers to cap off a dominant chase of 163 and sparked euphoric celebrations among his teammates. The win not only gave UAE their maiden series victory over a Full Member nation in T20Is but also dealt Bangladesh a heavy blow less than a year before the ICC T20 World Cup.

After the win, Player of the Match Sharafu said, 'The plan was simple, to play as many balls as possible. We had to rotate the strike and get the odd boundaries. Everyone was optimistic once that third game was announced. We believed we could win the series.'
Who's that IPL player?
The series began with a 27-run defeat for UAE, but the hosts staged a remarkable comeback, chasing down 206 in the second T20I to level the series.

In the decider, UAE's bowlers laid the foundation with a clinical display after electing to field. Young left-arm spinner Haider Ali was the star with the ball, rattling Bangladesh's top order and finishing with figures of 3 for 7.

Despite cameos from Tanzid Hasan (40 off 18), Jaker Ali (41 off 34), and Hasan Mahmud (26* off 15), Bangladesh were restricted to 162/9, thanks to disciplined bowling and sharp fielding.
In response, UAE lost skipper Muhammad Waseem early, and Muhammad Zohaib contributed 29 before falling.
But Sharafu (68* off 51) stood tall, anchoring the innings with elegance and composure. He found a reliable ally in Asif Khan (41*), as the duo stitched an unbeaten 87-run partnership that dismantled Bangladesh's hopes.
Asif's twin sixes in the penultimate over brought UAE to the brink, and Sharafu fittingly finished the job to etch UAE's name into the record books.
UAE captain and Player of the Series Waseem was emotional after the historic win and said: 'Very happy with this victory... This series means a lot. The uncapped players did really well—Haider Ali was exceptional. To be honest, we didn't lose our hopes. First time I am receiving this trophy; I want to dedicate this award to my son.'
'Definitely our performance wasn't up to the mark... UAE bowlers played really well. Their batters didn't panic much, so credit goes to them,' Bangladesh captain Litton Das admitted his team fell short.

Pranati well prepared for Women's Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships

Kolkata: After grabbing a bronze medal at FIG World Cup in Antalya, Turkey, in March early this year, Pranati Nayak will be looking to put up another strong performance at Women's Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships to be held in Jecheon, South Korea, from June 12-15. It will be quite a challenge for the veteran gymnast though in the Vault apparatus as the top athletes from all over the continent will be participating in the tournament including 49-year-old Oksana Chusovitina of Uzbekistan. However, according to her coach Ashok Mishra, the two-time Asian Championships bronze medallist is well prepared and was quite impressive during the final training sessions. "Pranati is in great shape physically and mentally and is full of confidence. She did really well during the podium training and was able to get a lot of speed while making the runs which will no doubt help her," said Mishra, during an interaction from Jecheon. The two vaults that she will be performing are — Tsukahara 720 Twist with fixed landing and Handspring Pike Salto with a 360-degree turn. She has been doing the first vault for a while now but the second one is something she has added to her armoury recently. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like استخدام مواد قابلة لإعادة التدوير يقلل النفايات بنسبة 50٪ Visionary Echo ابحث الآن Undo Although, she did struggle with it at times, she pulled it off perfectly on the final day ahead of the event and Mishra, who trains her at Gymnastics High-Performance Centre in Bhubaneswar, sounded quite pleased with it. Moreover, she has also been working on her leg strength over the past few months and its showing in her performance. Besides Nayak, the other athletes who will be representing India in the senior category are Protistha Samanta, Bidisha Gayen, Sneha Tariyal and Ritu Das. Meanwhile, Sreeparna Debnath, Sakshi Dalvi, Tora Saini and Avantika Negi will be competing in the junior section and coach Bishweshwar Nandi is hopeful of a good showing from the youngsters. "It's their first international tournament, and it's important for them to gain as much experience as possible. We always hope they will be able to perform what they have been training for. Based on that, we start having expectations, but this sport is all about technique, and it's not possible to do something you haven't learned," said Nandi, who trained Dipa Karmakar and helped her make it to the Olympics. Nandi though has a big task at hand now as he has been working with the juniors ahead of the event alongside coach Jimmi Anjana in Bhubaneswar. However, one of the junior members of the team — Priti Jhankar from Odisha — will sadly miss the event after she got infected with chicken pox and has been put in quarantine.

Jalen Hurts just hit up Michael Jordan and Derek Jeter for advice on staying a champ

After being crowned Super Bowl MVP, Jalen Hurts didn't hit cruise control. Nope, he immediately went hunting for greatness advice. And who did he turn to? Just two of the greatest champions in sports history: Michael Jordan and Derek Jeter. Because why settle for one ring when you can build a dynasty? Jalen Hurts reveals he spoke with Michael Jordan and Jeter about what it takes to repeat as champion During a press interaction on June 11, Hurts revealed that after winning the Super Bowl, he had private conversations with Michael Jordan and Derek Jeter about how to stay on top and build something lasting. Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts 'Straight to Work' + Spoke to Michael Jordan & Derek Jeter About Repeat 'I reached out to both MJ and Jeter,' Hurts said. 'We texted. I wanted to understand what really separates good from elite — how to repeat, how to sustain success.' He said they shared mindset tips and the mental grind it takes to keep winning when you're already at the top, something both legends mastered in their careers. The internet is loving Hurts' mindset: "This is Mamba Mentality in action" The reaction online? All respect. No trolling, no jokes just fans hyping up Hurts for seeking knowledge instead of just celebrating. People are even calling it a "Mamba Mentality move" going out of your way to study greatness and master the mental game. Jordan and Jeter know exactly what it takes to repeat and Hurts is listening Let's put this in perspective. Jordan three-peated. Twice. Jeter? Five World Series titles and the undisputed captain of the Yankees. These guys didn't just win, they led, adapted, evolved, and dominated for years . by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Perdagangkan CFD Emas dengan Broker Tepercaya IC Markets Mendaftar Undo By reaching out to them, Hurts is basically trying to download their blueprint and apply it to the Eagles' future. And the timing couldn't be better. After their Super Bowl run, the Eagles will be under the microscope. Can Hurts repeat? Can Philly become a dynasty? This isn't just a flex, it's a mindset shift. Hurts wants rings, plural. He's asking questions, surrounding himself with greatness, and trying to make sure that this year's win isn't a one-hit wonder. And when you've got Jordan and Jeter dropping knowledge in your texts? You're not playing checkers, you're building an empire. Also read - 'Puka is dead'? 'Puka is dead'? Rams star's viral Instagram name finally explained and it's all his mom's fault

Kirby Lee-Imagn Images Some NFL players have cool Instagram handles. Some keep it simple. And then there's Puka Nacua, whose IG username is… @pukaizded . If you've ever scrolled past it and wondered, 'Um, is he okay?' don't worry, it's not deep. In fact, it's hilariously petty mom energy, and we're absolutely here for it. Puka Nacua explains why his IG name is 'Puka is dead' and blames his mom During an interview on the 'Games With Names' podcast, Puka finally spilled the beans on why his Instagram sounds like a doom metal band. Turns out, back in eighth grade, Puka was sneaking around with a secret Instagram account. His mom, being the all-seeing parent she is, found it. But instead of just yelling at him, she did something way more savage: 'My mom, 8th-grade year, didn't know I had Instagram. My mom found my IG & changed it; she made it 'Puka is dead' to let me know I was in trouble.' Puka's mom changed his Instagram handle 💀 She literally renamed his account to tell him he was grounded. And the best part? He kept the username. Even now, as a rising NFL star, Puka still rolls with it, like a digital badge of childhood trauma and comedy. After the interview clip made the rounds on TikTok and Twitter/X, fans couldn't get enough. Comments poured in like: Honestly, the name makes way more sense now, and we kind of love him more for keeping it real. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Buy Brass Idols - Handmade Brass Statues for Home & Gifting Luxeartisanship Buy Now Undo From being 'dead' on IG to killing it in the NFL Puka Nacua absolutely exploded in his rookie season with the Los Angeles Rams. He broke rookie receiving records, made every fantasy manager scream with joy, and became one of the biggest surprises of the 2023 season. And through it all? His Instagram still proudly reads: @pukaizded. Because some things, like your mom's sense of humour, stay with you forever. In a world where most athletes try to sound cool and mysterious online, Puka Nacua's handle is refreshingly real. He didn't just accept his mom's punishment, he made it his brand. Peak Gen Z energy. Peak NFL content. And peak internet gold. Also read - Cam Newton's floral BET Awards outfit has fans laughing and loving it: 'Bro need to come out that closet'
