It's been over a decade since PK left fans wondering about a sequel, especially after that cheeky ending with Ranbir Kapoor. Now, Aamir Khan has reacted to the buzz around PK 2.
It's been over a decade since PK first hit the big screen, but the charm of the alien in a red helmet still hasn't faded. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Aamir Khan, the 2014 satirical drama became one of Bollywood's biggest hits both critically and commercially. With its mix of humour, heart, and social commentary, PK sparked conversations and broke records. Ever since, fans have often wondered: will there be a PK 2?
Well, we finally have an answer from the man himself. Aamir Khan addressed the long-standing buzz around a sequel to the blockbuster. Shutting down speculation once and for all, he told us, 'The possibility of PK 2? No, Raju (director Rajkumar Hirani) and I have never discussed it—never. I know there were rumours because of the ending, but we were just having fun with that. We never had any actual plans. It was a nice ending, yes, but there's no plan to make PK 2."
The quote refers to the film's closing scene, which cheekily hinted at a possible sequel when PK (Aamir) returns to Earth, this time with another alien, played by Ranbir Kapoor. That small scene was enough to fuel fan theories and hopes.
PK was written by Hirani and Abhijat Joshi and jointly produced by Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra under the production banners of Rajkumar Hirani Films and Vinod Chopra Films, respectively. A religious satire addressing superstition and pseudoprophets, the film starred an ensemble cast of Aamir Khan (as the title character), Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, Boman Irani, Saurabh Shukla and Sanjay Dutt. PK was released on 19 December 2014.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is currently busy promoting his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par, which drops in theatres on June 20, 2025. It marks Aamir's return to the big screen after a brief break since Laal Singh Chaddha.
Sitaare Zameen Par is a sports comedy drama film directed by R. S. Prasanna, and produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit. A spiritual successor to Khan's 2007 film Taare Zameen Par, it stars Khan and Genelia Deshmukh. It is a remake of the Spanish film Champions. Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra and Simran Mangeshkar will make their Hindi cinema debut in Sitaare Zameen Par.

Aamir Khan reveals his No. 1 insecurity of his early days: 'Other top male actors made me nervous because...'

In the dynamic and often unpredictable world of Hindi cinema , Aamir Khan has carved a unique niche for himself as someone who constantly strives for excellence. His journey began in the late 1980s with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, a film that not only introduced him to audiences but also catapulted him to instant stardom. Over the decades, he has continued to maintain a strong presence in the industry, becoming one of its most respected figures. Despite his stature as a leading actor, Aamir once struggled with self-doubt, especially regarding his physical appearance. During the early stages of his career, one of his biggest concerns was his height. Standing around 5 feet 5 inches tall, Aamir felt noticeably shorter than many of his contemporaries at the time. Stars like Sunny Deol and Jackie Shroff dominated the screen with their towering presence, and Aamir often questioned whether someone of his height would be taken seriously in the industry. This sense of unease stayed with him for a while, particularly when actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, and Shatrughan Sinha—taller, commanding personalities—ruled the silver screen. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Crossout: New Apocalyptic MMO Crossout Play Now Undo During a recent interaction on a YouTube talk show, Aamir revisited these feelings when asked about a humorous line in the trailer of his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par , which pokes fun at his height. He admitted that, in the past, such remarks would have deeply unsettled him. However, over time, he grew more comfortable with himself and gradually shed that insecurity. A pivotal moment in his journey toward self-acceptance came through a conversation with renowned writer Javed Akhtar . Akhtar had once advised him that humour, when used wisely, could be a powerful tool during tough times. The ability to laugh at oneself, Akhtar explained, acts as a buffer against life's emotional bumps. This idea stuck with Aamir and helped him view his own perceived shortcomings in a new light. In another earlier discussion on a YouTube channel, Aamir had acknowledged that his height used to make him feel inferior and uncertain about how audiences might react to him. He feared rejection based on appearance alone. But with time and experience, he came to understand that talent, authenticity, and sincerity mattered far more than physical traits. Sitare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna, stars Aamir alongside Genelia Deshmukh and introduces several fresh faces including Naman Misra and Simran Mangeshkar. The film is set to hit theatres on June 20, promising a heartfelt story brought to life by a cast full of new energy and seasoned talent.

Aamir Khan on ‘Coolie' cameo: ‘Huge fan of Rajinikanth sir, accepted role without hearing script'

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, while promoting his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, opened up on his cameo appearance in Coolie, superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming film with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The superstar said that he agreed to do the role without even reading the script since he is a huge fan of the superstar. In an interview with Zoom, Aamir, while answering a fan's question about his cameo, said, 'I really enjoyed doing it. I am big fan of Rajini fan. I have a lot of love and respect for Rajini sir. So, I did not even hear the script. When Lokesh told me that it is a Rajini sir's movie and that he wanted me to do a cameo, I said, 'Done. I am doing it. Whatever it is, I am doing it.' Notably, this comes just a week after the superstar confirmed his cameo in the film, followed by the announcement that he is teaming up with Lokesh for a big-scale superhero action film that is set to go into production in 2026. 'Lokesh and I are doing a film together. It's a superhero film — a big-scale action outing. The film will begin in the second half of 2026. We have both signed it. I cannot reveal anything further,' said Aamir. Aamir is currently awaiting the release of Sitaare Zameen Par. Directed by RS Prasanna, the film is set to release in theatres on June 20. The actor-director is also set to begin working on his dream project, Mahabharata, and a biopic on pioneering filmmaker and the father of Indian cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke, with director Rajkumar Hirani. Rajinikanth's Coolie is set to hit the screens on August 14. The film boasts an ensemble star cast that includes Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Sathyaraj. Pooja Hegde is set to play a special role. Shruti Haasan is the other prominent actor in the movie. Anirudh Ravichander is composing music for the movie, while Girish Gangadharan is the cinematographer. Anbariv is in charge of the stunt choreography. Sun Pictures is producing the film. Lokesh had previously confirmed that Coolie will not be part of his popular film universe called the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, which includes movies such as Kaithi, Vikram and Leo.
