Bose Offers Its New Portable Speaker for Peanuts for a Few Hours, Don't Bet on Seeing This Prime Price Again

Gizmodo11-07-2025
Bringing your personal playlist to an outdoor party or having your favorite podcast and audiobooks with you wherever you go requires a compact portable speaker that's ready to deal with whatever surprises the weather throws at you. That's a perfect description of the 2nd-Gen Bose SoundLink Flex Portable Speaker, and Prime Day is a perfect time go grab one for yourself now that it's under $100 for the first time ever.
The famously big, beautiful Bose sound is still big and beautiful, but now it can come from a perfectly portable speaker that's a little under 8 inches in length and weighs just 1.3 pounds, and is IP67 dustproof and waterproof. Fun fact — drop it in the pool and it floats without missing a beat.

When Bose says the SoundLink Flex Portable Speaker is built to go anywhere, they're being pretty much literal. The waterproofing means it can serve as a shower speaker, and then come with you to the pool or beach or even on a boat trip — remember, it floats. The dustproofing also comes in very handy on the beach or if you take it with you on the trails with your bike.
The built-in utility loop is ready for a carabiner or hook, and it's the perfect size and weight for packing or carrying. Should you happen to drop it or give it a good hard jolt, the silicon-wrapped body is able to withstand drops and shocks.
The Bose SoundLink Flex Portable Speaker will give you 12 hours of playback on a single charge, which is remarkable when you consider that the Bluetooth 5.3 connection is strong enough to work from 30 feet away.
The portability and rugged construction make the SoundLink Flex Portable Speaker an appealing option, but the selling point of any Bose speaker is the sound. The high-fidelity audio and deep, rich bass that Bose is known for is present and accounted for in the SoundLink Flex Portable Speaker, and there's the added option of pairing the speaker with another compatible Bose speaker and using them either in Stereo Mode where one takes the left channel and the other takes the right, or Party Mode where they combine forces for even bigger, bolder sound.
Of the six fun colors the Bose SoundLink Flex Portable Speaker comes in, five are covered by this great Prime Day deal that drops the price to just $99. So unless you're a hardliner about absolutely needing a black speaker, this is the perfect deal for a take-anywhere speaker that will give you great sound for years to come.

Google's Pixel 9A is cheaper than ever right now

The Google Pixel 9A is a midrange phone done right, offering a great balance of hardware, features, and value. Normally it costs $499, but now you can scoop up the 128GB model for an all-time low of $399 ($100 off) at Amazon, Best Buy, and the Google Store. The Pixel A-series has long been our go-to recommendation for a cheap Android phone, and the 9A keeps that streak alive. The device features a 6.3-inch OLED screen that's brighter than its predecessor, handling direct sunlight with no problem. The IP68 rating is another upgrade, so you don't have to panic over a spilled drink or a dusty pocket. Wireless charging is also available, and while it's not the fastest at up to 7.5W, it's a feature you don't always see at this price. The Tensor G4 chip and 8GB of RAM keep things snappy, whether you're running a handful of apps or sneaking in a little gaming. Meanwhile, the 5,100mAh battery can last you through a moderate day of streaming video, social media, and web browsing with the always-on display enabled. Google also promises seven years of software updates, which is more than most phones in this range. While the 9A ticks just about every box, it runs a smaller version of Google's on-device AI, so you miss out features found on the other Pixel 9 devices, including call notes. And although it takes decent photos, the device can't match the quality of the more expensive Pixel 9 and 9 Pro, particularly when taking portraits. Google has an event planned for August 20th, where we're expecting new flagship Pixel devices to be shown off. If you don't need a top-of-the-line device, though, you'll probably be very happy with the 9A, especially at this price. Drone deliveries one step closer to reality — but don't count on them soon

'The way you get your products will fundamentally change,' he said, adding that the move will also benefit the manufacturing sector. Tuesday's announcement is a particular boon to Amazon, which has invested heavily in drone deliveries and has been testing its technology in College Station, Texas, and the Phoenix, Arizona, area — and is a major step toward realizing founder Jeff Bezos' dream more than a decade ago of using drones to drop off packages for customers. 'I know this looks like science fiction. It's not,' the billionaire said at the time. (However, Bezos' ambitious prediction at the time was that drone deliveries would be realized as early as 2015.) The proposal is key to the development and future use of air taxis, too, which the industry wants to see enabled in time for the 2028 Olympic games being held in Los Angeles. Though this rule will further that goal, many other regulatory hurdles remain. Though significant, what's being issued Tuesday is only a proposal. It now must work its way through the byzantine federal bureaucracy, including ample chance for various sectors of the industry and public to lobby for favored changes. Even the draft rule has been delayed for many months — a history that suggests that it could take additional months, even years, before it's finalized. The 2024 law authorizing the Federal Aviation Administration required that it be released by mid-September of last year — a deadline the agency ultimately blew through. But the nascent drone industry desperately wants the rule, and deep-pocketed companies like Amazon, along with other interests from agriculture to law enforcement and surveyors, will no doubt apply significant muscle during the process.

Jim Cramer Highlights Microsoft's $4 Trillion Moment and AI-Driven Strength

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is one of the stocks that Jim Cramer spoke about. During the episode, Cramer discussed the company's recently posted strong earnings. He said: 'What should it have been about? Well, how about Microsoft? How about Meta? Nope. They were overshadowed by the Fig-Man Carnival. It was all anyone talked about down here. Call me old-fashioned, but I really wanted the market today to be defined by those earnings reports from two tech titans. I'm talking about Microsoft, briefly a $4 trillion company today, before closing just below that level, and Meta at just under $2 trillion.
