Below is the full statement: 'The 6th of May remains an enduring symbol of national pride, marking the historic decision in 1976 to unify our Armed Forces under one command—an act of visionary leadership by our Founding Fathers, led by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. This moment established the foundation for a powerful, unified military force capable of protecting the Union and preserving its accomplishments.Over the past 49 years, our Armed Forces have grown into a highly capable, modern military institution—one equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and guided by a strategic vision that embraces knowledge, discipline, and readiness. With the steadfast support of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, our military continues to chart new paths in innovation and excellence, remaining ever-prepared to defend the homeland and safeguard regional and global stability.This national occasion renews our deep sense of loyalty and commitment to the UAE's leadership and people.
