Main committee for sighting crescent moon of Dhul-Hijjah' to meet on Tuesday
The meeting will be held under the auspices of Dr. Mohammed Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs.
The Ministry requested citizens and residents to look out for the crescent moon, report to field teams in their respective governorates or directly contact moonsighting sub-committees operating in the offices of walis.

Indian envoy meets Yemen leaders, discusses bilateral ties
Sanaa: Indian Ambassador to Yemen, Suhel Ajaz Khan, met the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen, Rashad Al-Alimi, in Riyadh and discussed both countries' relations and other matters of mutual interest. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, India was one of the early countries to have actively supported Yemen's independence from the British and was one of the first countries to recognise the Yemen Arab Republic (YAR) in 1962 and the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen (PDRY) in 1967. In 1990, YAR and PDRY merged to become the Republic of Yemen. The total bilateral trade between India and Yemen for FY 2021-22 is USD 1.07 billion, as per statistics of the Department of Commerce, Government of India. The total export to Yemen during FY 2021-22 is USD 847 million (YoY growth 7.77 per cent), and the total import is USD 228 million (YoY growth 873.92 per cent), as per MEA. India exports rice, wheat, sugar, drug formulations, ceramics and allied products, processed fruits and juices, textile materials, petroleum products, yarn and fabrics, etc to Yemen. On the other hand, India imports iron and steel, petroleum, telecom instruments, aluminium and articles thereof, lead and allied products, electric machinery and equipment, copper and articles thereof, and raw hides and skins from Yemen. MEA stated that India ranks among the top in Pharma imports of Yemen with Ranbaxy, Cipla, Sun Pharma, Alkem Laboratory limited, Cadilla, Wockhardt, Glenmarc, Kopran Laboratories Ltd, Orchid, Medley and Biocon among others active in Yemen's market.

National Press Club condemns killing of journalist in Gaza, calls for probe
Washington, DC: The National Press Club on Monday said it is "saddened and troubled" by reports from Al Jazeera that its correspondent, Anas al-Sharif, was killed on Monday in Gaza. According to the National Press Club, the network said al-Sharif, 28, died after a tent for journalists outside the main gate of al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City was struck. Al-Sharif, a respected Arabic-language correspondent, had reported extensively from northern Gaza throughout the current conflict. His death is among more than 200 journalists reported killed since the war began, the statement noted. "The killing of a journalist while working to inform the public is a loss felt far beyond one newsroom," said National Press Club President Mike Balsamo. "Journalists must be able to work without being targeted or killed. All parties in conflict zones must honor their obligations under international law to protect reporters and ensure they can carry out their work safely." The National Press Club has called for a thorough and transparent examination of the circumstances surrounding al-Sharif's death and reaffirmed its commitment to defending the safety and independence of journalists worldwide. This comes after Israeli forces have killed five Al Jazeera staff, including correspondent Anas al-Sharif, in a targeted strike on their media tent outside al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, Al Jazeera has reported. According to the network, Israel's military claimed responsibility for the assassination in a statement, alleging al-Sharif led a unit of Hamas's armed wing, a claim Al Jazeera described as false. "STRUCK: Hamas terrorist Anas Al-Sharif, who posed as an Al Jazeera journalist Al-Sharif was the head of a Hamas terrorist cell and advanced rocket attacks on Israeli civilians and IDF troops.
