Pogacar wins Tour de France for 4th time

News247 days ago
Tadej Pogacar closed out a supreme 21-day performance to win the Tour de France in Paris on Sunday, crushing his rivals in the 3,400km slog to rack up a fourth title.
Wout van Aert won the final-day cliffhanger on the cobbled roads of Montmartre, but Pogacar was spared any late challenge when rain forced times to be neutralised, but he gamely tried for the stage win anyway before Van Aert dropped him on the last climb.

Why Christopher Nkunku has rejected approaches from multiple Premier League teams

He's had a couple of tough years at Chelsea, so it's easy to forget that not long ago Christopher Nkunku was one of the stars of the French national team and one of the country's best regarded players. It's no wonder that L'Equipe did a big report on him and his future yesterday. Teams line up for Nkunku – but no deal coming easily Christopher Nkunku battles for possession against Fluminense.(Photo by) The French paper claim that Nkunku is at a 'pivotal moment in his career', knowing that his 'future with the national team is at stake in the short term.' With a World Cup coming up next summer he wants to be starting and Chelsea can't or won't offer him that right now. The good news is that there is some interest – this report says that Liverpool 'has other plans,' but that Inter Milan are trying to make things work. Bayern Munich are his longest term suitors, although they need to sell before they can buy. Teams from the bottom half of the Premier League have also come forward for the former Leipzig man but been knocked back. It's all promising – but nothing looks ready to happen yet. Inter may fall short in financial stakes for Chelsea star Like many have noted on social media already, we're always sceptical of rumours of Italian interest in our A list players. Serie A clubs just don't tend to have the budget to make those deals worthwhile at the very top end of the scale. There are always exceptions, but given Chelsea will be looking for for something like £40m for Nkunku, we can't see Inter making it work easily. Our best hope of moving the 27 year old on for a good fee seems to still be hoping Bayern have a little squad clearout and summon some funds for him.
