2 Illinois youth baseball coaches fired after apparently streaking in front of kids in Cooperstown, New York
The coaches' firing is just the beginning. The Lake Bluff Youth Baseball Association said they're working with law enforcement authorities, mostly because the coaches apparently stripped down in the presence of children.
Children can be heard laughing on video that shows two men nude, one sprawling over home plate at a Cooperstown baseball field.
The video circulating online shows the men on the diamond baring it all in the presence of children.
The boys usually play in Lake Bluff field in Chicago's northern suburbs. They are members of the Lake Bluff Youth Baseball Association – a respected league which has been around for 70 years.
Last weekend, at a big tournament in Cooperstown, the coaches for reasons unknown – and caught on video – decided to go Full Monty on the field, forcing the team to be disqualified and the local sheriff's department in New York to be called in.
It was unclear what, if any action, the sheriff's department, but the Lake Bluff Youth Baseball Association board said in a statement it's "is deeply distressed to learn about the recent situation involving the Lake Bluff 12U Blue Cooperstown team."
"We are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness and have contacted relevant authorities. We will continue to support those authorities in their investigations of this matter. We have also taken immediate and decisive action by terminating the assistant coaches involved," the association added.
Clearly, this no laughing matter for the league. Many parents associated with Lake Bluff Youth Baseball did not want to talk publicly.
It's not clear if the two assistant coaches are parents or not, but the board said it works hard to protect the well-being of players and families and will continue to do so to best of its ability.
As the investigations play out, it's unknown if the league allowed the assistant coaches in question to bring the players back home to Lake Bluff, or if other accommodations were made. CBS News Chicago is not naming the coaches, who have not been charged with a crime.

Kalisha Pettus was shot five times in her abdomen by her friend's brother, who was high on drugs at the time, on April 29, 2024, while visiting their house in Chicago. "I just remember vividly, just, it was just straight across," she said. "Like a target board practice, almost; like he had been practicing, all chest and stomach shots." Pettus' life changed forever after the shooting. Her left leg had to be amputated when it lost blood flow, her medical records show. She had 15 surgeries and 150 blood transfusions to shave her life. "I also struggled with my digestive system. Had to be totally repaired," Pettus said. Before the shooting, she did CrossFit five times a week and worked in the hospitality industry. She was attending school for nutrition when she was shot and said she couldn't go back after because she couldn't afford it anymore. Her family set up a GoFundMe to help her. She's applied for jobs to work from home but hasn't been able to find work. "I'm on a strict no work order, no return to work order, from my doctor's office because of ongoing medical issues," she said. She's also applied for assistance from various city agencies, including from the Department of Family Support Services Rental Assistance Program, who denied her application, and the Emergency Supplemental Victims Fund, who she said also denied her application. Pettus also applied for benefits through Social Security, and was denied by them as well. They told her she didn't "qualify for benefits" an was "not disabled" under their rules. That has left her feeling revictimized. And as if things couldn't get worse, Pettus said she's now facing eviction from her South Loop apartment after she's been unable to get the financial support she needs from city programs to pay her rent. "If I don't get the funding, I have nowhere to go, except a homeless shelter," she said. Pettus said she plans to start a nonprofit called Heal and Thrive Chicago that will help other survivors of gun violence. "I feel like God put me in this position for a reason. I was strong enough to fight back, to be a voice for so many other people," she said. Meantime, she continues her own fight for survival. "I'm still in survival mode. Still haven't been able to properly heal and process what's happened to me," Pettus said.

4 men wounded in mass shooting on South Side of Chicago
Four men were wounded in a mass shooting Thursday afternoon in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. Police said, shortly before 1 p.m., four men were near the sidewalk near 59th Street and Ashland Avenue, when two gunmen walked up and started shooting. A 51-year-old man was shot in the groin, and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. It was the third mass shooting in Chicago in less than 24 hours. Four people were killed and 14 others were wounded late Wednesday night in a mass shooting outside a River North restaurant and lounge, following an album release party for rapper Mello Buckzz. Four people were wounded in a mass shooting early Thursday in the Riverdale neighborhood.

Passenger misinterprets seat neighbor's ‘RIP' text, forcing flight to divert
An American Airlines passenger snooping on one of their seat neighbors forced the flight to return to San Juan after reporting a potential security concern based on an overseen text message. Local news outlet Primera Hora reported that one passenger saw another receive a text message saying RIP (rest in peace) and interpreted it as a threat to the flight, according to Puerto Rico's Office of Explosives and Public Safety. American Airlines flight 1847 was on its scheduled service between San Juan and Dallas, and returned to Puerto Rico shortly after takeoff. The airline confirmed the incident in a statement to USA TODAY and said the plane was eventually cleared to depart again after the threat was deemed non-credible. "The flight landed safely at SJU, and law enforcement inspected and cleared the aircraft to re-depart," the statement said.
