
The Staffordshire men boxing to 'release the hurt inside'
Participant Ethan Mourn said the retired boxer's group was a place where he felt able to talk."I was in a kind of dark place, confused and bit emotional, but then I came here, spoke to Ewan and he's helped me quite a lot," he said.
Another participant, Josh Shepard, said he lost his job after his dad and cousin died within the space of six months.He felt boxing with the group helped him, and that he also benefitted from chatting to others."The gym just didn't do it for me," he said. "Just punching a bag really does just release a lot inside hurt."He said he was hooked after his first session, and the brew and biscuits at the end were an important reason for attending."There's nowhere I'd rather be," he added.
Ben Betts, a mental health coach at the group, explained working out helped release endorphins, which in turn enabled the men to feel more able to open up."Even if you're having a really bad week, you can come here and hit the bag, release your evil energies," he said.

There is no cure, but there are preventative measures travellers can take like wearing long-sleeved clothing and using insect repellent to ward off midges. These insect repellents need to be 50 per cent DEET—the active ingredient which repels pests like midges and mosquitos. Other measures include staying in places with air conditioning or window screens with fine mesh to keep out midges and using insecticide-treated fine mesh bed nets. What is the cause and how is it treated? Oropouche virus is an RNA virus that belongs to the Simbu serogroup of the genus Orthobunyavirus in the family Peribunyaviridae, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Treatment is about managing symptoms: rest, drink plenty of fluids, and take paracetamol or other over-the-counter meds to ease fever and pain, the UKHSA says. If you develop severe symptoms, especially anything that might suggest brain involvement (like severe headache, confusion, or neck stiffness), the agency urges people to seek immediate medical help.

Michael Johnson says Grand Slam Track on hold until 2025 debts are paid
Grand Slam Track will not take place in 2026 unless athletes receive their prize money for this year, says founder Michael Johnson. The four-time Olympic sprint champion confirmed the upstart track circuit has been unable to pay millions in appearance fees and prize money from its inaugural season and will not move forward until those debts are cleared. Grand Slam Track launched in 2025 as a high-paying alternative to the Diamond League, focusing exclusively on track events and offering salaries for contracted athletes along with up to $100,000 for race winners. The concept lured in top names, including British Olympic sprinters Daryll Neita and Matthew Hudson-Smith, and 1500m world champion Josh Kerr, with the promise of swift payouts and a bold new stage for elite sprinting and middle-distance races. The season began with meets in Kingston, Miami and Philadelphia, though the latter was trimmed from three days to two as costs mounted. The finale in Los Angeles, scheduled for June, was cancelled altogether after organizers failed to secure promised investment. Johnson said the move was designed 'to avoid further losses' and begin the 'lengthy process of stabilizing the company to get back on track'.
