The crown jewel of Texas' 2026 recruiting class is five-star quarterback Dia Bell.
Bell verbally committed to the Longhorns on June 17, 2024, and has held a strong pledge ever since. The American Heritage (Fort Lauderdale, FL) product is ranked the No. 3 quarterback in the nation and the No. 1 overall prospect in Florida for the 2026 recruiting class, according to 247Sports composite.

Bell has amassed numerous accolades up to this point. The latest achievement, and perhaps one of the hardest to obtain, came this week when Bell was announced the Elite 11 Finals MVP.
The Elite 11 is a highly selective competition for the top high school quarterbacks across the country. Bell demonstrated exceptional skills, poise and leadership throughout the competition. He also became the first Texas commit to win the Elite 11 MVP.
Bell's father, former NBA star Raja Bell, offered a sincere congratulations to his son for winning the award amongst so many incredible quarterbacks. "A truly amazing experience getting to watch some incredible quarterbacks compete and bond," Raja Bell said.
Bell was also named the 2024 Gatorade Player of the Year in Florida. He threw for 2,597 yards before suffering a season-ending lower leg injury in the Class 4A regional semifinals.

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian has seemingly turned Austin into a quarterback factory. Aside from quarterback phenom Arch Manning, Bell may be the next up and coming name that fans will remember for the foreseeable future.

What ‘bothered' Dodgers' Dave Roberts about Mike Shildt coming after him

The post What 'bothered' Dodgers' Dave Roberts about Mike Shildt coming after him appeared first on ClutchPoints. As the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres managers in Dave Roberts and Mike Shildt, went at it on Thursday night after players were pelted, the rivalry no doubt has reached new heights. With the Padres' skipper having a rant at the Dodgers about hitting their players, Roberts would speak about the incident that took place. Advertisement While it wasn't the first time, star Fernando Tatis Jr. would be hit by a pitch in the top of the ninth inning, which led to Shildt approaching the mound to check on his player, but also walked towards Roberts and the Los Angeles dugout. Shildt took issue with the team, as this led to Roberts approaching him, giving him a light shove as the dugouts were cleared. Roberts would give insight into why Shildt confronting him 'bothers' the manager, according to ESPN. 'Obviously,' Roberts said, 'I think anyone knows there was no intent.' 'And so as [Shildt] comes out, and he's yelling at me and staring me down, that bothers me,' Roberts continued. 'Because, to be quite frank, that's the last thing I wanted. I'm taking starters out of the game, trying to get this game over with and get this kid a couple innings. I took that personal. Because I understand the game, and I understand that it doesn't feel good to get hit.' The Padres' manager had a strong message for the Dodgers Jayne Kamin-Oncea-Imagn Images Though the Dodgers and Padres feud with one another is hostile, it wasn't just the hit by pitch on Tatis that happened as a half-inning later, Shohei Ohtani would get pelted. However, he would be seen waving off his teammates to prevent any further confrontation. Advertisement The San Diego manager in Shildt would have a rant after the game about Tatis being hit, since this is the third in the past nine days by Los Angeles, per ESPN. 'We got a guy who's getting X-rays right now, is one of the best players in the game, fortunately on our team, and this guy has taken shots, OK?' Shildt said. 'And before this series, and I can back this up with complete evidence, the track records speak for themselves — teams that I manage don't get into altercations like this because teams that I manage don't throw at people. But also, teams I manage don't take anything.' 'And after a while, I'm not going to take it,' Shildt continued. 'And I'm not going to take it on behalf of Tati, I'm not going to take it on behalf of the team, intentional or unintentional. It's really that simple. That's how this game is played. And if you want to call that old-school, then yeah, we'll play old-school baseball.' At any rate, the Dodgers are 46-30 and are first in the NL West as they start a three-game series against the Washington Nationals on Friday night. Social media reacts to Clemson QB commit Tait Reynolds ranking Top 5 at Elite 11

Clemson defensive end Will Heldt named a transfer who 'could swing' the Tigers' CFP hopes Tait Reynolds made the most of his opportunity on the national stage this week, turning in a strong showing at the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles. The four-star Clemson quarterback commit competed against 20 of the nation's top signal-callers in a variety of skill drills and a 7-on-7 competition. By week's end, Reynolds was listed among the top performers at the prestigious event and earned high praise from Rivals recruiting analyst Adam Gorney, who ranked him No. 5 overall among all competitors. 'Reynolds was skilled, reliable and consistent,' Gorney wrote. 'The Clemson commit has a little elongated motion (probably from his baseball background) but he's a big, steady presence in the pocket who was exceptional on deep throws and the seam routes during the Pro Day.' Reynolds held his own in the 7-on-7 portion as well, completing 14 of 19 passes for two touchdowns. Event organizers also named him one of the top overall performers for the week. A rising senior at Queen Creek High School in Arizona, Reynolds is one of two quarterbacks committed to Clemson's 2026 class. Last season, he threw for 2,238 yards and 22 touchdowns with just five interceptions, while rushing for 1,437 yards and 19 more scores—averaging over 10 yards per carry. Reynolds is ranked inside the Top 250 nationally by both Rivals and On3 and considered one of the top 20 quarterbacks in his class. With his size, athleticism, and growing confidence, he continues to raise his national stock heading into his senior year. Here's how social media reacted to the showing. Jay Johnson says Kade Anderson should be No. 1 overall pick in MLB draft to Nationals

If Game 1 of the College World Series championship series marked the last time Kade Anderson starts for LSU baseball, the 6-foot-2 left-hander sure put on quite the memorable outing as he went the distance to deliver the Tigers a 1-0 shutout win over Coastal Carolina. It was also a performance that shored up one thing for his coach, Jay Johnson: Kade Anderson should be the No. 1 overall pick to the Washington Nationals in the 2025 MLB Draft. Advertisement "His next pitch should be somewhere in the Washington Nationals organization. It's not close," Johnson said after LSU's win over Coastal Carolina. "... He's the best player in the country. There's nobody closer to the Major Leagues than that right now." The native of Madisonville, Louisiana became just the third pitcher to throw a complete game shutout in a CWS finals game since the championship series was added to the tournament format in 2003. Advertisement It was also the second complete game of his career, and the season. His 10 strikeouts increased his nation-leading strikeout number to 180 punchouts in 119 innings of work this year. Of the 130 pitches he threw against Coastal Carolina on the night, 82 of them were for strikes. Johnson's pleas for Anderson to be the No. 1 overall pick in next month's MLB draft weren't the only flowers that he gave his junior ace. The 48-year-old Johnson put Anderson's heroic season and skillset up there with former LSU pitcher Paul Skenes, who went No. 1 overall to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2023 and has been a phenom since making his debut in May 2024. "He's the best pitcher in college baseball. We had the best pitcher (Paul Skenes) on the planet two years ago in a similar situation. I feel like Kade has a very similar season to that," Johnson said. "And that's how you get here (to CWS). I'm really proud of him. "I think the commonality between the two is the person, the character, the toughness and the team-first attitude." USA TODAY's Gabe Lacques has Anderson going No. 5 overall to the St. Louis Cardinals in his June 10 mock draft, while ESPN's Kiley McDaniels moved Anderson up to his No. 1 overall pick in his mock draft that came out on June 18.
