BBC News02-08-2025
Manager Ian Holloway described a Swindon fan as "disgusting" after an object was thrown at Walsall goalkeeper Myles Roberts during their League Two match. The incident happened in the closing seconds after Connor Barrett scored in the 91st minute to give Walsall a 2-1 victory at the Bescot Stadium.Roberts was on the ground with an apparent calf injury when a small item thrown from the crowd landed near him.It is not clear what the object, which Barrett handed to the referee, was."That's not right; that's not football," Holloway told BBC Radio Wiltshire.
"You think you're upset and all of this. Just shut your face and get out of the game. It's absolutely disgusting. "You think you're representing our football club? Then I'm not having you."We need them out. We need to find who it is and dob them in. It's absolutely totally wrong. You should be ashamed of yourself."

Alexander Isak accuses Newcastle of breaking promises amid transfer drama

Alexander Isak has accused Newcastle United of breaking promises and damaging trust, stating it is in everyone's best interests for him to leave the club. The striker claims Newcastle misrepresented his private conversations and that the club has long known his desire to depart. Liverpool's £110m bid for Isak was rejected, with Newcastle maintaining he is not for sale, despite the player's public stance. Isak has not featured for Newcastle in pre-season or their opening league match, training separately from the main squad. He scored 23 Premier League goals last season and was voted into the PFA team of the season but chose not to attend the awards ceremony due to the ongoing situation.
