Erie County Council taking Davis to court over Millcreek Twp. funds
Council Chair Terry Scutella (D) said that while he sees the value in the projects that are being funded, he believes that the county executive did not go through the proper channels.
He said that council is not happy with the way this is being done and they're taking Davis to court.
'It wasn't approved by council, giving the money to where he gave it to the municipalities we had marked it for someplace else, but still, you have to come to council and get approval, he didn't do that. It's just now with the Home Rule Charter, so we are going back to court,' he said.
Scutella said that they are currently in court regarding the 2025 budget.

Clerks from all 55 WV counties gather for election conference at Canaan Valley
DAVIS, (WBOY) — While the 2026 elections may still be months away, county clerks and election officials from across the state gathered in Tucker County this week to prepare for the polls next year. Representatives from all 55 counties were in attendance at the Canaan Valley Resort in Davis for a three-day conference hosted by West Virginia Secretary of State Kris Warner and his Elections Division staff. 'We do this as a lead-up into each election, mid-term or general election. It's my first election conference as newly elected Secretary of State, so we're very pleased with the fact that, again, all 55 counties are participating,' Warner said. WVDEP approves permit for proposed Tucker County data center The conference focused on voter registration, federal guidelines, absentee voting, election day preparation, ADA compliance for polling locations, canvassing and election night reporting. Warner said that more than 200 representatives from across the state were present this week, and that events such as this help West Virginia's municipalities stay prepared for election season and allow citizens to vote with confidence. 'It's the clerks that get the job done, and when you have all 55 counties represented, you know that it's going to be another great year, and another election where people can show up and vote, and have confidence in the system, get unofficial results on election night and ten days later have those election results certified, so it's very rewarding,' Warner said. Stephen A. Smith on Monday slammed President Trump for not securing a peace deal with Russia and Ukraine despite his promises on the campaign trail. 'The reality is, and excuse my language, he opened his mouth and deposited checks his a‑‑ can't cash. That's really what it comes down to,' Smith said during a Monday evening appearance on NewsNation's 'Cuomo.' 'You got to be able to end this war. You talked a lot of stuff about ending this war and how you would end it in one day. Now, we recognize that that's hyperbole. We understand that something like that is not going to end in one day,' he added. Smith noted that Trump failed to punish Russia for not advancing peace talks as outlined ahead of his Friday summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. 'What I care about is the fact that you promised a ceasefire or severe consequences before the meeting, and in the immediate aftermath of a meeting, there was no ceasefire agreement,' Smith told anchor Chris Cuomo. 'And a matter of fact, you seem damn near friendly towards him, acting like the meeting was productive. Well, where's the evidence? We don't see any,' he added. 'As of yet, there hasn't been a ceasefire that's been achieved … it's going to take some time to accomplish that. We understand that too, but in the time that it takes to accomplish that, what is Putin going to do? Chances are he's going to bomb Ukraine even more, so chances are he's going to try to gain more territory,' Smith said. 'He's going to continue to kill more Ukrainians. That's the likelihood,' he added. He told Cuomo that Putin 'got a photo-op, he got a chance to be on American soil, and he avoided to agree to a ceasefire or anything else.'
