Elderly YSRCP Worker Run Over by Jagan Reddy's Car During Rally
New Delhi: An elderly man was run over by the convoy of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy during a rally near Eturukur village on the outskirts of Guntur city last week.
The incident came to light on Sunday after several videos surfaced on social media, showing that it was Reddy's car that crushed 65-year-old Cheeli Singaiah, a YSR Congress Party worker, to death.
According to the Times of India, the rally carried on with people unaware that Singaiah had been crushed under Reddy's vehicle.
Jagan was enroute from Rentapalla village in the Sattenapalli constituency to console the family of a party worker who had died by suicide last year. A massive crowd was following the convoy when the incident took place. According to reports, Singaiah had approached the vehicle to shower flowers on Reddy.
As the police struggled to manage the crowd, Singaiah was reportedly pushed down in the chaos. While those near the elderly activist raised alarm on realising what had happened, Reddy's security personnel and driver did not stop the vehicle.
Singaiah was later rushed to the hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.
According to the Times of India, YSRCP leaders have given a cheque of Rs 10 lakh as ex gratia from the party to Singaiah's family.

Center to develop nine roads leading to Nashik ahead of Kumbh mela
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday said that all roads connecting Nashik will be developed and upgraded in view of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela in Nashik. A total of nine roads will be developed by the central government ahead of the religious meet in 2027 and as per the preliminary estimate, the work is likely to cost a further Rs 4000 crore. A high-level meeting regarding the highway connecting Nashik was held on Sunday in the presence of Union Road Development Minister Nitin Gadkari at Nagpur. Gadkari extended in-principle approval to the construction of necessary roads and facilities required for the upcoming Kumbh Mela to be held in Nashik as a huge crowd of devotees is expected to arrive, leading to a strain on the traffic system. It was decided that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be prepared soon and funds will be made available for this. The routes to be developed include, Ghoti – Pahine – Trimbakeshwar – Jawhar Phata; Dwarka Circle – Sinnar IC 21 (Samruddhi Expressway) Nandur Shingote – Kolhar; Nashik to Kasara; Savli Vihir (IC 20 Samruddhi Expressway) Shirdi – Shani Shingnapur Phata (Rahuri Khurd); Nashik to Dhule; Trimbakeshwar – Jawhar – Manor; Shadow Well – Manmad – Malegaon; Ghoti – Sinnar – Vavi – Shirdi; Shani Shingnapur Phata (Rahuri Khurd) – Ahilyanagar (Kharwandi Phata).The meeting approved the Nashik Ring Road. Along with this, it was decided to make the Nashik to Trimbak road six-lane. 'The cost will be calculated post preparation of the DPR. But the central government has assured all possible financial help as well,' said an official from the Maharashtra Public Works Department (PWD). He added, the estimated Rs 4000 crore is for the construction of roads and additional money will be required for the Nashik ring road project. 'Keeping in view the increasing interest of devotees towards Kumbh Mela and the expected crowd, I had requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide assistance at the central government level for its successful planning and enabling infrastructure road development. As a result this meeting was held today,' said Fadnavis. There are eight important routes to Nashik from Mumbai, Gujarat, Palghar, Pune, Ahilyanagar, Sambhajinagar, Dhule. All these routes and the internal roads in Nashik city and the district also connect to the national highway. The meeting considered the development of all those roads. CM Fadnavis said that the expanded road network will provide more safe facilities to the devotees as it will handle the huge traffic expected during the Kumbh Mela.

Property Dealer, Security Guard Arrested In Honeymoon Murder Case
Guwahati: A property dealer and a security guard have been arrested in connection with Meghalaya's honeymoon murder -- the murder of Indore transporter Raja Raghuvanshi, allegedly by his wife Sonam. Sources said the Meghalaya police had kept them on their scanner for long. Property dealer Silome James had rented out a flat at Indore's Hirabagh locality to alleged hitman Vishal alias Vicky. Vicky was arrested along with two other hitmen - Akash and Anand - and Sonam Raghuvanshi and her allege boyfriend and mastermind of the crime Raj Kushwaha. Police sources said Sonam Rahuvanshi had stayed in the flat from May 26 to June 8, before she was detained from a eatery on the highway in Gazipur, Uttar Pradesh. The security guard -- Balbir Ahirbar, alias 'Ballu' -- had gone missing since the arrest of Sonam Raghuvanshi and four others, police sources said. He was arrested today from Indore, where he was hiding. The police suspect he holds vital information on the movement of the accused and other developments within the premises. Raja Raghuvanshi was killed on May 23 - the police said Sonam Raghuvanshi had given the signal for the attack. The police said after the murder, Sonam Raghuvanshi had fled via Guwahati. James, who has been interrogated twice before by Meghalaya Special Investigation Team, has been arrested for tampering with evidence. He had allegedly shifted the bag that Sonam had carried from Meghalaya to Indore. Meghalaya SIT had raided the rented flat where Sonam was hiding but found it empty. The police were looking for a black bag Sonam had carried back and was given to Vishal and a phone she was using while in hiding to connect to Raj. They were also looking for Raja's jewellery and Rs 5 lakh in cash they were carrying. Indore police sources said they had come to know that Raj Kushwaha had kept a country-made pistol in that flat, sources added. During two previous questioning sessions, James had pleaded innocence. Sonam Raghuvanshi had told the police that she left the bag in the flat on June 8 and left for Gazipur in a rented cab as soon as they heard Akash and Anand were arrested. Two days later, Silome James went to the rented flat, opened it with the master key and removed the bag and other items, police sources said. Silome James was allegedly seen in one of the many CCTV footage of that area that Indore Crime Branch collected for Meghalaya SIT, sources further added. Sources said when the Meghalaya SIT called James seeking a meeting, he claimed he was traveling to Bhopal and would meet them on Monday. Then he switched off his phone, which raised an alarm.

Sebi bans two from markets for 3 yrs; impounds illegal gains of ₹4.83 cr
Markets regulator Sebi has barred two individuals from the securities markets for three years and impounded illegal gains of over Rs 4.83 crore made by them for orchestrating a fraudulent scheme using out of the money (OTM) stock options to misappropriate funds from investors. Apart from the securities market ban, the regulator also slapped a penalty of Rs 25 lakh each on Shivprasad Pattiya and Alkesh Narware and directed them them to pay the fine within 45 days, Sebi said in the order passed on Friday. Further, Sebi directed Pattiya and Narware to disgorge unlawful gains worth Rs 4.83 crore with an interest of 12 per cent per annum jointly and severally from February 2022. In the final order, Sebi found that the front entities had opened the trading accounts under the instructions of the operator group (Shivprasad Pattiya and Alkesh Narware) and these trading accounts and bank accounts were under the control of the operator group. Sebi observed that the caller group had identified prospective investors (complainants) which had credit balance in their ledger and obtained their credentials in the name of Algo/software trades and the same were also under the control of the Shivprasad Pattiya and Alkesh Narware. The trades executed through the mobile in the accounts of the complainants and the front entities were also under the control of the Pattiya and Narware, Sebi said. "...it is established that the entire fraudulent scheme is attributable solely and squarely to the noticees (operator group) and they were the controlling minds and beneficiaries of the fraudulent arrangement. "The acts of the noticee amounts to manipulative, deceptive device and artifice to defraud while dealing in securities," Sebi's Quasi Judicial Authority N Murugan said in the order. Pattiya and Narware were found to have violated the provisions of PFUTP (Prohibition of Fraudulent and Unfair Trade Practices) rules. The order came after the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) received alerts on suspicious trades in illiquid 'Out of the Money' stock options with unusual price variations. NSE also got complaints from investors who suffered losses after sharing trading credentials for Algo-based trading via WhatsApp groups. Thereafter, Sebi conducted a probe to look into the role of a group of entities led Shivprasad Pattiya and Alkesh Narware allegedly misused online trading kits, promised guaranteed returns, and executed manipulative trades. The investigation covered the period from January 2021 to February 2022.
