Rachel Dratch To Headline Uniworld's First Women-Only Cruise
Rachel Dratch is largely known for her Saturday Night Live character, 'Debbie Downer,' but the actress and comedian will soon be taking the stage in front of a new audience — cruisers.
Dratch will become the headline performer for Uniworld Boutique River Cruises' first-ever Women-Only Cruise through the heart of France this summer.
Guests will enjoy an exclusive comedy set and a special Q&A session with Dratch during the cruise, which sets sail on August 24, 2025. It will incorporate Uniworld's Burgundy & Provence itinerary, an eight-day trip onboard the S.S. Catherine with stops in Arles, Viviers, Avignon and Lyon.
'We are beyond excited to welcome the incredibly talented and hilarious Rachel Dratch aboard our special Women-Only Cruise,' stated Ellen Bettridge, president and CEO of Uniworld. 'Rachel is the perfect fit for what promises to be an unforgettable trip, and I'm looking forward to being onboard to host her and all of our guests on this sailing.'
In an interview with Forbes, Dratch explained that she heard about the Women-Only Cruise through a call from her agent. She added that this cruise sounded like the kind of trip she would take with some friends, if she was organized enough to plan it!
'I love it when a work situation takes me somewhere great. It has happened a few times in the past, and I try to say yes when these rare opportunities come up in life.'
In terms of going on a cruise, Dratch confessed that she has never taken one before. 'I think it sounds fun to ease into cruising on a smaller boat, and on a river no less,' she said. 'Honestly, my view of cruising probably comes from watching The Love Boat when I was a kid.'
Dratch once she lived with a family in France for a semester during college; while there, she saw a lot of the country. However, she's never been to the area where this Uniworld cruise is going but plans to do a few excursions.
'I do love to travel. I like a girls' trip, and now that I have a child, I have taken him on a few special trips, too,' said Dratch. 'I'm not someone who is very particular on 'must haves' – like 'oh I need my lavender spray and my favorite pillow.' Honestly, I'm lucky if I get there and find out I didn't pack all shirts and only one pair of pants. I'm the type to throw a bunch of stuff in a bag and hope I have something to wear when I arrive.'
A veteran of Chicago's Second City, Dratch was an SNL cast member from 1999 to 2006. Her IMDB profile includes King of Queens, 30 Rock, Shameless, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Just Go with It and Wine Country.
Dratch is also the author of the critically acclaimed memoir, Girl Walks into a Bar. She has lent her voice to animated series such as Bob's Burgers and will next be heard in the upcoming Fox series, Grimsburg.
Dratch made her Broadway debut in POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive. She received a Tony nomination for her performance.
Dratch is now working on a writing project with fellow ex-SNL cast member Ana Gasteyer.
'We wrote a parody of a Hallmark Christmas movie that came out a couple of years ago and we are keeping that Christmas train going,' said Dratch. 'I also have a podcast currently running called 'Woo Woo with Rachel Dratch,' where I have my funny friends on to talk about 'woo woo' stuff like ghosts and psychics, that kind of thing!'
For Dratch, this Uniworld's Women-Only Cruise is sure to be a source for new material.

Travel insurance site InsureMyTrip recently conducted a study to figure out the safest destinations for women traveling solo. After evaluating 62 destinations across metrics like, "feeling safe walking alone at night," it named Dubai the safest place for women traveling alone. Other places that made the list include Kraków, Poland; Madrid, Spain; Munich, Germany; and Chiang Mai, deserves to feel safe when traveling around the world. However, women traveling solo often have to take additional precautions to ensure they can enjoy a trip without worry—and that can sometimes include considering some destinations over others. If you're a woman who plans to go on a trip alone this year, InsureMyTrip has a few suggestions. In March, the travel insurance comparison site updated its list of the best cities for solo female travelers. To find its top destinations, the company says it conducted a study of 62 cities and evaluated them across factors such as safety for women and other tourism stats in order to create a list of the best cities for solo female travelers. It also sourced statistics from the online database Numbeo, and dug into metrics like, "feeling safe despite gender" and "feeling safe walking alone at night." Additionally, it referenced info sourced from the World Economic Forum and the Georgetown Institute's Women, Peace, and Security Index. After looking at the numbers, the team named Dubai the safest city for solo female travelers. "Despite being one of the most expensive cities—with an average cost of $289 per day, it has the largest social media presence with more than 35 million mentions on TikTok, while also having high ratings for hotels and things to do," the report stated. "In terms of female safety, Dubai has a rating of 86.23 out of 100 for feeling safe and 83.11 out of 100 for feeling safe walking alone at night, which are both highest scores across all the cities." The rankings also note that Dubai moved up an impressive four spots from InsureMyTrip's 2024 list, showing a strong upward trend. However, it was the ninth-place city that showed the most improvement. "The largest change is Singapore, which increased by 52 places to reach ninth place," the findings said. Other top cities on the list include Kraków, Poland, which ranked in second place this year, up from 12th in 2024. Feud rumors first circulated on the heels of comments by co-star Jason Isaacs, who repeatedly referred to 'social tensions' on the HBO drama's Thailand set. Those rumors were further inflamed by Goggins's physical separation from the rest of the ensemble cast, including Wood, post-wrap. As he explained to Variety, that distance wasn't personal: He's been preoccupied with production on Prime Video's Fallout season 2, and on the evening of The White Lotus season 3's finale, he was in New York for an appearance on a late-night show, far from his fellow cast members. In the latest chapter of showrunner Mike White's hit drama, Goggins and Wood play Rick and Chelsea, an unlikely pair of star-crossed lovers who meet a heart-breaking fate in the finale episode. During the Variety interview, in which Wood and Goggins were interviewed jointly, Goggins turned to Wood to express his sorrow at having missed the cast's finale watch party. 'I wish I would have been able to watch this with you,' he shared. 'It was so cathartic and so painful, and I regret that. I really do.' Wood later went on Instagram to describe the sketch as 'mean and unfunny,' while Goggins reposted the clip and complimented its humor. Many viewers interpreted this move as a not-so-subtle swipe at Wood. Goggins told Variety it was anything but, and that after he encountered Wood's hurt response, he 'felt awful and deleted his post.' 'I've been posting for 14 fucking years, and if I'm gonna say something, I'm gonna say it to your face,' Goggins said. 'I don't use social media in any way, and I'm not a mean guy.' Added Wood, 'I think it's such a comment on where we're at culturally. Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don't give a shite about Instagram.' I'm not gonna have that conversation.' Regarding the Times story, Goggins said he simply did not feel as if a solo interview was the right time and space to address his relationship with Wood. 'What am I gonna do, speak for both of us? Never,' he said. Regarding Instagram, he explained that he unfollowed Wood as a way to distance himself not from Wood herself but from the experience of filming The White Lotus. 'My catharsis in this experience was different than other people's, because of my history in this place,' Goggins said of his time in Thailand, referencing his time spent traveling the country in the wake of his wife's suicide in 2004. 'I knew what [Aimee and I] had gone through, and I knew how close that we had gotten, and I needed to begin to process saying goodbye to Rick and Chelsea,' Goggins continued. 'And I knew that that was going to take a while for me, so I let her know, this is what I've gotta do. And she was extremely supportive about that.' He continued, 'I needed to just back away from everyone. I haven't spoken to anyone [from the cast]. I couldn't handle it. Judge me or don't. I don't give a fuck what you think. This is my process. Rick means everything to me, and Chelsea means everything to me. And so that's what I needed to do for me to process all of this.' At the end of their conversation, Variety reports that Goggins re-followed Wood on Instagram, and that they embraced. 'I completely understand,' Wood told him. His response: 'I love you.'
