KUANTAN, July 23 (Bernama) -- A businesswoman pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court here today to a charge of making a false statement to the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) regarding the resignation of three company directors two years ago.
Datuk Azjuriyahti Azlan, 46, entered the plea after the charge was read before Judge Noor Aisah Mohamed.
Azjuriyahti and her husband, Datuk Sri Mohd Nazrul Izad Mohd Arsad, 46, are accused of allowing Kumpulan Maju Desa Industri (KMDI) Holding Sdn Bhd company secretary Hasnifalina Ramlee to submit a false statement concerning the resignation of three individuals as company directors.
The false statement involving the resignation of L. Sivakumar, Associate Professor Dr Mohd Zainizan Shahdan and Shahkeer Azzat Zailan via a Section 58 form was allegedly committed at Wisma KMDI, Jalan Gambut, on June 20, 2023.
She was charged under Section 591(2)(a) of the Companies Act 2016 (Act 777), which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years' imprisonment, a fine of up to RM3 million, or both, upon conviction.
SSM prosecuting officer Abdul Hadi Abdul Muti proposed bail at RM30,000 with one surety. However, defence counsel Muhammad Nazrin Mohd Seth requested a reduction to between RM5,000 and RM8,000, citing that the surety is a contractor with irregular income.
The court allowed bail at RM8,000 and fixed Aug 28 for mention and submission of documents.
The court also issued a warrant of arrest against Mohd Nazrul Izad for failing to appear for today's proceedings.
Muhammad Nazrin informed the court that his client was hospitalised at a private facility due to multiple health issues and submitted a hospital admission letter.

Kita Selangor Rail Project Enters Strategic Financing And Investment Phase

GENERAL SHAH ALAM, July 30 (Bernama) -- The Kita Selangor Rail project has progressed to the stage of finalising financing strategies and identifying suitable investment partners. Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said this phase is meant to ensure the integrated rail network can be implemented sustainably to provide maximum benefits to the people. 'The goal of this rail project is to create a modern, seamless, and user-friendly network that connects key areas across Selangor, including a direct link to the Selangor Aero Park in Sepang, which is being developed as a future hub for aviation and logistics. 'It will also ease traffic congestion and enhance economic growth by facilitating workforce mobility and investment,' he said in a Facebook post. Earlier, Amirudin chaired a meeting with the State Economic Planning Unit and the project's appointed consultant, HSS Integrated Sdn Bhd, to discuss potential collaborations on the project. The Kita Selangor Rail project is a long-term plan by the Selangor government to enhance the state's public transportation network. Amirudin emphasised that the Selangor government is committed to strengthening the public transportation ecosystem by making it more integrated and extending its reach to suburban and rural areas, ensuring fair and inclusive access for all residents. 'Thank you to all parties involved for the insights and expertise shared. This is a vital first step towards a more sustainable rail system for a progressive, prosperous and livable Selangor,' he said. When tabling the 2024 State Budget, Amirudin announced that development of the Kita Selangor Rail project would begin with a feasibility study, backed by an allocation of RM3 million.

Owner offered to sell Kelantan FC for RM300,000 amid confusion

KUALA LUMPUR: Kelantan FC owner Norizam Tukiman revealed that he had offered to sell his team to Gerakan Selamatkan Kelantan (GSK), led by Nik Hafiz Naim Nik Hassan, for RM300,000. However, Norizam said that the offer, which included a "large discount," did not receive a response from GSK. "I gave them options for free and for sale, but GSK didn't accept, instead wanting to buy and 'control' TRW Kelantan FC completely. "Discussions started from RM3 million, and eventually, I agreed to sell the majority stake for RM300,000, but in the end, there was no answer from Nik Hafiz. "I also contacted Nik Hafiz regarding this payment, but then suddenly, there was silence," Norizam said in a post on his Facebook page. Norizam claimed that Nik Hafiz decided to establish Kelantan Red Warriors (KRW) after negotiations to purchase shares in Kelantan FC fell through. "Instead, Nik Hafiz directly met with the Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) and the Amateur Football League (AFL) and established KRW. "I see KRW wanting to become TRW, using the name Kelantan Red Warriors along with the logo that is officially owned by TRW. "Today, people are confused that there's another TRW from Kelantan Darul Naim. To me, this confusion wouldn't be an issue if the AFL and the FA of Malaysia drafted a specific law about names," said Norizam.
