Minta day ago
New Delhi, Aug 8 (PTI) The Ramco Cements Ltd has reported a consolidated net profit of ₹ 181.58 crore for the June quarter of FY26, helped by improvement in the cement prices and operational efficiencies.
The company had posted a net profit of ₹ 36.57 crore during the June quarter of the previous fiscal, according to a regulatory filing by The Ramco Cements on Thursday.
Its revenue from operations declined marginally to ₹ 2,074 crore in the June quarter of FY26, from ₹ 2,093.55 crore in the same period last fiscal.
"During Q1 FY26, the cement sale volume is 4 million tonnes, compared to 4.29 million tonnes in Q1 FY25, with a de-growth of 7 per cent in view of weak demand due to early monsoon rains in Kerala. In eastern markets, many infra projects nearing completion amid unseasonal rains have dampened the demand," the company said in its earnings statement.
Consequently, the cement capacity utilisation for the Q1FY26 is at 68 per cent as against 77 per cent during the previous corresponding period, it said.
"EBIDTA for Q1 FY26 is ₹ 404 crore as against ₹ 328 crore during Q1 FY25 with growth of 23 per cent in view of improvement in cement prices," it said.
Total expenses of The Ramco Cements in the June quarter were down 4.3 per cent at ₹ 1,965.13 crore.
The Ramco Cements' total income, which includes other income, was also down 1 per cent in the June quarter to ₹ 2,080 crore.
Over the Capex, The Ramco Cements said it "plans to achieve cement capacity of 30 MTPA by Mar 26 with the commissioning of 2nd line in Kolimigundla along with de-bottlenecking of existing facilities and adding grinding capacities in existing locations with nominal capex."

Defence production hits record Rs 1.5 lakh crore, private firms' share up

Synopsis India's defence production has surpassed ₹1.5 lakh crore, marking a significant milestone fueled by increased private sector participation. The defence minister highlighted an 18% growth in FY 2024-25, showcasing the strengthening of India's defence industrial base. Defence exports also saw a surge, reaching ₹23,622 crore, reflecting a 12% increase over the previous year. PTI Indian defence production has crossed the ₹1.5 lakh crore mark, with private companies increasing their share in production and export of military systems, defence minister Rajnath Singh said on Saturday. Lauding the collective effort that led to an all-time high figure of defence production worth ₹1,50,590 crore, Singh said that the milestone is a clear indicator of India's strengthening defence industrial base. Officials said that in the 2024-25 FY, there has been an 18% growth over the previous fiscal's output of ₹1.27 lakh crore, and a 90% increase since FY 2019-20, when the figure was ₹79,071 crore. The numbers have been achieved as the government has gone on overdrive to promote Indian companies to enter the sector and has initiated programs like Emergency Procurement (EPs) that have given orders to a large number of startups and smaller companies as well. Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and other PSUs accounted for around 77% of total production, while the private sector contributed 23%. The share of the private sector has been steadily rising, from 21% in FY 2023-24 to 23% in FY 2024-25, and is expected to go up exponentially in the coming years as several big projects have been opened up to competitive bidding. Dozens of companies, from backgrounds as diverse as automobile component manufacturing to civil works have entered the defence manufacturing sector as opportunities grow."Both public and private segments of the industry have demonstrated consistent year-on-year growth, attributed to far-reaching policy reforms, enhanced ease of doing business, and a strategic focus on indigenisation over the past decade," officials said. There has been a surge in defence exports as well, with the figure growing to ₹23,622 crore in FY 2024-25, a 12% growth over the previous year.

Sebi proposes lower entry threshold for large-value AIFs at Rs 25 cr

Agency: PTI New Delhi, Aug 9 (PTI) Markets regulator Sebi has proposed a slew of relaxations for large value funds (LVFs) under the alternative investment funds framework, including reduction in minimum investment requirement to Rs 25 crore from the current Rs 70 crore. In a consultation paper issued on Friday, the regulator said the changes aim to widen investor participation and cut compliance costs. The proposals follow recommendations from Sebi's Alternative Investment Policy Advisory Committee and the Ease of Doing Business Working Group. The key proposal is to lower the investment threshold to Rs 25 crore, which the regulator said will attract more domestic institutional players such as insurance companies and diversify the investor base. At present, the working groups highlighted that LVF threshold of Rs 70 crore is too high and many investors, including some institutional investors, have limitations on the quantum. Sebi has also proposed exempting LVFs from several compliance requirements, including the need to follow the standard template for private placement memoranda (PPM), mandatory annual audits of PPM terms, and the responsibility placed on investment committee members for approving fund decisions. Sebi also recommended allowing existing AIF schemes, whose investors meet LVF criteria, to convert into LVFs with the consent of all investors. This would enable them to benefit from the proposed relaxations. The markets watchdog noted that LVFs have seen steady traction since their introduction in August 2021, but could play a bigger role in channelling long-term investments, especially into unlisted securities, if entry barriers are lowered. The Securities and Exchange Board of India has invited public comments on the proposals till August 29. Sebi revises norms for converting private listed InvITs into public

Agency: PTI New Delhi, Aug 9 (PTI) Sebi has revised the framework for converting private listed Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs) into public InvITs, streamlining sponsor holding norms and aligning disclosure requirements with follow-on offers. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) said the changes, effective immediately, are based on market feedback and recommendations of the Hybrid Securities Advisory Committee. Under the revised framework, sponsors and their groups must comply with the minimum unitholding requirements specified in the InvIT regulations at all times. The lock-in on such units will also be as per the regulations, the regulator said in a circular on Friday. The market regulator has also modified the procedural and disclosure norms for public offers during conversion to bring them in line with those applicable for follow-on offers. Accordingly, InvITs will have to adhere to the follow-on offer requirements under InvIT rules and related circulars, including any amendments. These changes will replace earlier references to 'initial offers" with 'follow-on offers" in several provisions of Sebi's norms for InvITs issued in May 2024, as per the circular. The revised framework, effective immediately, aims to protect investor interests, promote market development and ensure regulatory consistency. Sebi has directed recognised stock exchanges and the Bharat InvITs Association to disseminate the updated norms on their websites.
