EuroLeague: Dubai Basketball to face Real Madrid, Barcelona at Coca-Cola Arena
Following a historical debut season in ABA League – where Dubai Basketball climbed to the playoff semifinals before being halted by European powerhouse Partizan – the team captured the attention of thousands worldwide. Although their campaign ended shy of the final finishing in third overall, the season laid a powerful foundation for what promises to be a defining season for the club.

Coached by Jurica Golemac, Dubai Basketball is set to make its EuroLeague debut in the 2025/26 season, going head-to-head with some of the most celebrated basketball teams in the world. Facing the likes of Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Panathinaikos, Olympiacos, and reigning champions Fenerbahce, among other elite clubs — Dubai Basketball will bring top-tier European basketball to Coca-Cola Arena from September to June.
Co-founded by visionary and Co-Chief Executive Officer Dejan Kamenjašević, Dubai Basketball is the product of his years of experience and deep passion for the game. Dejan has been a driving force behind the club's rapid rise. 'Dubai Basketball is not an instant project; it has taken us years to reach the point we are in today. But it brings me great pride to say that this team is an instant success,' said Kamenjašević.

In just their first season, Dubai Basketball attracted nearly 80,000 fans to Coca-Cola Arena, paving the way for a new era for the sport in the region. As the only Middle Eastern team represented in ABA League last season, Dubai had something to prove from day one. Backed by a passionate and growing fan base, the club continues to be fuelled by the belief and support of its community.
Over the span of a year, Dubai Basketball has firmly established itself as a top contender in European basketball. With a seasoned coach who brings both professional playing experience and leadership at the highest levels of European basketball and a talented roster including players fresh from NBA and EuroLeague, the team's story is only just beginning.
All home games will continue to be held at Dubai's premier indoor venue, Coca-Cola Arena, which boasts a capacity of 15,000 in its basketball format. As the club enters the longest season in EuroLeague history, it will welcome Europe's strongest teams to the heart of the city – marking a major milestone for basketball in the UAE and the entire region.

Sheikh Hamdan directs creation of Dubai AI Seal for businesses
Dubai has introduced artificial intelligence seals to make it easier for businesses, organisations within the government and other stakeholders to evaluate companies promoting AI services. The creation of the labels came under the directive of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, to bolster trust in the AI offerings throughout the emirate. "We are dedicated to establishing an enabling environment for the advancement of the AI industry in Dubai," Sheikh Hamdan said. He said he hoped the AI seals will "drive economic growth, benefit the society, and shape the future we envision for Dubai and the world". The labels were introduced on Tuesday by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, a division of the Dubai Future Foundation that was founded in 2016 to accelerate the adoption of new technology throughout the UAE. A total of six seal tiers – E, D, C, B, A and S – will be offered to the businesses that apply, "with S representing the highest impact on Dubai's AI economy". The new service is free of charge, and businesses can apply through the DCAI website. According to the DCAI, seals will be "awarded to companies with proven and verified activities in Dubai" falling under the categories of AI consulting, development, infrastructure, integration and ancillary services. Seals will be required by Dubai's government entities from sellers of AI services, and those who earn the seals will have a higher chance of winning government AI projects, the DCAI said. The introduction of the seals comes one month after Sheikh Hamdan announced a new classification system in Dubai to indicate when AI has been used in research and publications. The announcements come as AI technology is being developed around the world at a breakneck pace. In recent years, the UAE − the Arab world's second-biggest economy − has pursued becoming an AI front-runner, as it seeks to diversify its economy away from oil. The country's efforts have resulted in the establishment of start-ups, partnerships and investments from industry leaders. Dubai has seen a growing amount of recognition for its AI endeavours. According to a recent report from Counterpoint Research, Dubai ranks in the top five world cities in terms of the adoption of AI, beating San Francisco, which is widely considered to be the birthplace of the modern tech industry. The emirate has helped the country rise to the top in various studies for AI, with a new report from TRG Datacenters ranking the UAE and Saudi Arabia as among the top three artificial intelligence superpowers in the world, behind the US.

For Dubai golfing prodigy Aayan Dadabhoy, the road to the Curry Cup began on the windswept fairways of St. Andrews, where he held his nerve to claim victory in the Underrated Tour event and secure a coveted spot in Steph Curry's Junior Golf Tour finale. At just 17 years old, Aayan has already made his mark in the junior golf scene, but it was his performance at the Kittocks Course at Fairmont St Andrews in Scotland that truly announced his arrival on the global stage. Posting rounds of 73 and a final-round 67, he finished four under par, winning by three strokes and cementing his reputation as one of the UAE's brightest golfing talents. Representing the Tommy Fleetwood Academy Dubai, based at Jumeirah Golf Estates, Aayan's rise reflects both his dedication and the strength of junior golf development in the UAE. Recalling the final moments of his St. Andrews triumph, Aayan said: 'I birdied the 10th and 11th, and I knew someone in my group was just a shot behind me. I stayed in the present, stuck to my game plan, and made two big up-and-downs on 14 and 15. By the time I birdied 17, with friends from the Muslim Golf Association cheering me on, I felt confident I could finish strong.' That strong finish not only secured victory at the Home of Golf but also earned him a trip to New York for the Curry Cup finale, held from September 10–12 at the iconic Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, New Jersey. The Curry Cup is the season-ending championship of the Underrated Golf Tour, founded by NBA star Stephen Curry to promote diversity and inclusion in junior golf. 'It's an amazing experience for my playing career, and it'll help me as I look for the right university in my final year of school. I couldn't have done it without the Underrated Tour, Steph Curry, and everyone who's made this possible.' For Aayan, the Curry Cup represents more than just a tournament, it's a chance to test himself against the best junior golfers globally. 'Competition is healthy when you're trying to grow your game,' he said. 'I know I've got what it takes to win, but it'll be a tough challenge. Playing against these players makes you work harder, and it's all about preparation.' That preparation has already taken him across continents. Earlier this summer, he competed in the U.S., finishing fifth at the FCG Callaway Collegiate in California, 15th at the Junior Worlds, and representing his country at Pinehurst for the U.S. Kids Team Championship. 'Playing in America is very different from Scotland,' he said. 'But experiences like those build the focus you need for tournaments like this.' Looking beyond New York, Aayan has his sights set on even bigger stages. 'No matter how I play at Liberty National, I'm grateful for the experience. After this, I'd love to chase an invite to the Challenge Tour or one of the UAE's professional events. That would be one of my top goals for the year.'
