Yoga events to be held at tourist spots in NTR district to spread awareness
NTR district Collector G. Lakshmisha has said that yoga sessions will be conducted at the tourist sites in the district to create awareness among visitors.
Trained yoga masters will teach yoga at Gandhi Hill, Kondapalli Fort, Bhavani Island, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Smriti Vanam and other places, he said.
Explaining the month-long yoga events planned up to June 21, at a press conference here on Friday, Mr. Lakshmisha said that 2,500 trained yoga masters will teach yoga at village, mandal and division levels every day.
More than 100 people were practising yoga asanams at BRTS Road, Punnami Ghat and other places from May 21, he said and appealed to people to do yoga for a healthy and peaceful life.
All sections of people, including employees, sportspersons, artistes, farmers, students, lawyers, SHG women, and senior citizens will practise yoga up to June 21, Mr. Lakshmisha said.
The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for Yogandhra, being celebrated from May 21 to June 21, said Krishna district In-Charge Collector Geetanjali Sharma.
A committee has been constituted with the Collector as Chairman, SP as Vice-Chairman, Joint Collector as Nodal Officer and District Medical and Health Officer as Convenor to oversee the programme, she said.
Heads of various government departments have been instructed to follow the schedule given by the government for the programme, she added.

Call to educate children about benefits of growing trees
Vijayawada: Medical and Health Minister and NTR district in-charge Minister Satya Kumar Yadav said here on Thursday that the aim was to plant a total of one crore saplings across the state and 2.60 lakh saplings in NTR district to realise the vision of 'Swarnandhra.' Speaking at the World Environment Day and Vanamahotsavam - 2025 programme organised by the District Forest Department at Nagara Vanam in Kothuru Tadepalli, Vijayawada Rural, Minister Satya Kumar Yadav emphasised the joint efforts of Central and State governments to maintain environmental balance and improve living standards through afforestation. He, along with local MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad and district collector Dr G Lakshmisha, inaugurated the event by planting saplings. The minister recalled Prime Minister Modi's call to plant a tree in the name of one's mother (Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam). He urged the public to educate children about the benefits of growing trees. MLA Vasantha Krishna Prasad echoed the concerns about environmental imbalance leading to natural calamities, citing the sudden floods in Budameru that caused damage. He shared that he is extensively planting and nurturing trees under his 'Vasantha Green Project'. District Collector Lakshmisha stated that just as Yogandhra contributes to mental development, planting trees helps protect the environment and increase greenery. Vijayawada RDO Kavuri Chaitanya, District Forest Officer G Satish, DPO P Lavanya Kumari, DRDA PD ANV Nanchararao, DWAMA PD A Ramu, District Forest Range Officer K Srinivasulu Reddy, Deputy Range Officer P Raju, and other officials also participated.

One lakh people from Vizianagaram will take part in Yoga programme at Bhimili: Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan
Vizianagaram Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan directed officials of all the departments concerned to mobilis around one lakh people from Vizianagaram district and encourage them to participate in mega yoga programme to be held in Bheemunipatnam of Visakhapatnam district on the eve of International Yoga Day to be observed on June 21. According to him, mobilisation of one lakh people would be easy as Bheemunipatnam is very close to several mandals of Vizianagaram district. As the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to participate in the event, the district is planning to make it as a grand success and bring laurels to the district with its efforts to gather huge number of people for the programme. who visited various tourism spots including Thatipudi reservoir directed the officials to arrange yoga camps in a big way. Chintapalli, Ramateertham, Thatipudi, and other areas were selected for special yoga camps planned between June 6 to June 19. T-shirts, yoga mats have to be given to the participants. Spot registration desks are needed to be established at those selected places since many of them might have not registered their names in Yogandhra portal. Vizianagaram District Rural Development Agency Project Director Kalyana Chakravarthi and other officials assured Mr. Madhavan that the special care would be taken up all yoga programmes planned in different places of the district as well as Bheemunipatnam. Mr. Chakravarthi said that all the participants will be provided bus facility to reach Bheemunipatnam by 5.30 pm on June 21. He said that youngsters were keen to participate in the mega event.

3,000 participants enliven ‘Yogandhra' awareness event at Chandragiri Fort in A.P.
As many as 3000 participants, including Yoga enthusiasts, trainees, youth activists, students and general public took part in the ambitious event conducted by the district machinery at the famed Chandragiri fort here on Wednesday, to create awareness about the forthcoming 'Yogandhra' programme. The event, organised in the backdrop of the imposing edifice that stands testimony to the glory of the Vijayanagara rulers, who ruled this region with Chandragiri as their third capital, is part of the month-long drive to gather momentum ahead of the prestigious 'International Yoga Day' to be observed in a grand manner at Visakhapatnam. Chandragiri MLA Pulivarthi Venkata Mani Prasad (Nani), Andhra Pradesh Yadava Welfare Corporation Chairman G. Narasimha Yadav, Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) Chairman C. Divakar Reddy, Tirupati district Collector S. Venkateswar and Joint Collector Shubham Bansal participated in the event conducted under the aegis of the Tourism department. Mr. Venkateswar announced that the series of events pertaining to Yoga would be conducted at the mandal and village levels to sustain the tempo. Eight lakh members across Tirupati district have been enrolled by the village and ward secretariat staff to participate in the Yoga Day event at any place.
