Actor
Joju George
recently made serious allegations against the makers of 'Churuli'. The actor accused them of a breach of trust after they allegedly released an expletive-filled version of the film on an OTT platform—contrary to what he had originally been promised.
"They told me one thing and did another"
In a conversation with On Manorama, Joju shared," The filmmakers had assured him that the version containing profane language would only be screened at select film festivals. For public release, he claims, a censored version was to be used, and he even dubbed a separate audio track for it. However, Joju says the version now streaming online is the uncut, profanity-laden one, which was sold to the OTT platform for a substantial amount.
"They told me one thing and did another," he said, expressing disappointment and emotional distress. The actor stated that it wasn't just about his professional image but also the impact it had on his personal life.
'My daughter faced bullying because of those scenes,' he shared, adding that this was the main reason he chose to speak up.

Joju has strongly refuted this, saying that not only did he not receive any remuneration, but he also spent more days on set than what a guest role typically demands.
'Lijo has only shown a receipt. Let him show the entire agreement,' Joju challenged, suggesting that the document would reveal the full scope of his involvement and payment expectations.
Joju clarified that he remains an admirer of Lijo's work and would not have gone public with his grievances if it hadn't personally affected his family. 'I was well aware of the language used in the film—that wasn't the problem. The real issue is that I was misled, and it deeply disturbed my family.' he said.
Meanwhile, Joju George was recently seen in the Suriya starrer action flick 'Retro' directed by Karthik Subbaraj.

Designer gowns, 90 private jets, luxury hotels: Why Jeff Bezos-Lauren Sanchez wedding costs Rs 400 crore
Jeff Bezos' upcoming nuptials with Lauren Sanchez are being called 'the Wedding of the Century'. It's a three-day extravaganza in Italy's Venice, with a price tag of at least €40 million, or $46 million (Rs 400 crore). And what can you expect? A-list celebrities dressed in their finest, a whopping 90 private jets ferrying them to the wedding venues and completely bought out luxury hotels read more Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez leave a hotel for their pre-wedding reception, in Venice, Italy. The three-day extravaganza comes with a price tag of 'at least €40 million,' or around $46 million (Rs 400 crore). AP Billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is all set to say 'I do' a second time — with his fiancée of several years, Lauren Sánchez in the magical city of Venice in Italy. The couple are set to tie the knot today (Friday, June 27) with celebrations expected to run until Saturday, June 28. And this three-day event, replete with celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and Kim Kardashian, security fit for kings, a foam party on a superyacht and a whole lot of luxury hotels is being dubbed as the 'wedding of the century'. In fact, Lauren's elder brother, Paul Sánchez, had earlier told TMZ, 'I think it's gonna be like a Princess Di thing,' referring to Princess Diana's 1981 wedding to then Prince Charles. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD But what's the price tag for such an extravaganza? Luca Zaia, the governor of the Veneto region, of which Venice is part, has said that the Bezos-Sanchez affair will cost 'at least €40 million,' or around $46 million (Rs 400 crore) — far surpassing the average $36,000 that US couples are expected to spend this year on their nuptials. Bezos-Sanchez's three-day wedding affair The Amazon founder and his wife to-be, Lauren Sanchez , chose Venice for their OTT wedding affair with celebrations beginning on Thursday (June 26) with a casual welcome event next to the Gothic church of Madonna dell'Orto. It is one of Venice's most important church complexes that houses the remains of Renaissance painter Tintoretto. On Friday, the duo will recite their marital vows to one another at the San Giorgio Maggiore Basilica on the Venetian island of San Giorgio Maggiore. The island features manicured gardens, an outdoor ampitheatre, a private marina and the Gorge Cini Foundation. A general view of the Venetian Arsenal which is one of the venues of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and journalist Lauren Sanchez, wedding celebrations. Reuters A Wall Street Journal reports that acclaimed Italian singer Andre Bocelli's son, Matteo, will perform at the nuptials. And the wedding celebrations will continue for a third day with the reception in the Arsenale, a massive brick complex best known today as one of the main venues for the Biennale cultural festivals. A-list celebs, luxury hotels, private jets and water taxis But to make such a wedding come to life isn't easy and or cheap. Massive logistics have to be put in place to ensure that this event plays out without any hitches and for that purpose. Bezos and Sanchez have invited an estimated 250 guests, including several high-profile celebrities. While the entire guest list is still a secret, some were spotted on Thursday making their way on to water taxis. These include Kim Kardashian, her sisters and mother, Ivanka Trump, her husband Jared Kushner and their three children, Oprah Winfrey, Orlando Bloom and former American footballer Tom Brady. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Kim Kardashian, and sister Khloé Kardashian, arrive in Venice, Italy, Thursday for Jeff Bezos' wedding to Lauren Sanchez. AP It is reported that Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger, Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Hollywood A-lister Leonardo DiCaprio is also expected to attend the nuptials. And for these guests, Bezos and Sanchez have booked out five of the city's most luxurious hotels. The hotels include Cipriani on the island of Giudecca, and the Aman on the Grand Canal where US actor George Clooney stayed for his 2014 wedding with human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin . According to travel website Kayak, the basic room at the Aman costs $2,736. Orlando Bloom leaves a hotel for the pre wedding reception of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez, in Venice, Italy. AP Moreover, to ferry these A-list guests and everything else required for the events, Bezos and Sanchez have hired 90 private jets and also booked at least 30 water taxis from different companies in Venice for the wedding guests. Here comes the bride Also contributing to the million-dollar price tag of the wedding is Lauren Sanchez's wedding trousseau, including her dress, the flowers and her makeup. The Times of India has put down the cost to be $525,000 (Rs 4.48 crore). Lauren Sanchez leaves the Aman Venice hotel, ahead of their expected wedding, in Venice, Italy. She's dressed in a Schiaparelli dress from their spring 2025 couture collection. Reuters And this doesn't seem incredulous considering what Sanchez has already been pictured wearing for her wedding celebrations. She started it off with a 2003 Alexander McQueen dress with mother-of-pearl stripes. She followed that up with a Schiaparelli dress from their spring 2025 couture collection. The gold look, designed by Daniel Roseberry, features a corseted bodice covered in gold bugle beads as well as an off-the-shoulder neckline with hand-embroidered flowers. She accessorised the dress with diamond earrings as well as her multimillion-dollar engagement ring. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD It is still to be seen which designer she chooses for her wedding but many are speculating that Sanchez is opting for a Dolce and Gabbana creation. Donations and gifts Besides spending for hotels, water taxis and other logistics, Bezos and Sanchez are also making sizeable charity donations, including €1 million (Rs 10 crore) for Corila, an academic consortium that studies Venice's lagoon ecosystem, Italy's Corriere della Sera newspaper and the ANSA news agency reported. There are also reports that the A-list guests will receive extravagant gifts from the couple. It is reported that hand-blown Murano glass created by Laguna B, a Venetian glass company with a rich history, is to be given to the guests. Furthermore, other luxury items are also expected, though details remain confidential. A woman poses holding a fake dollar bill next to a mannequin depicting Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos covered in fake dollar bills installed at St. Mark's Square as part of a parody stunt by art collective Konn Artiss, ahead of the anticipated wedding of Bezos and journalist Lauren Sanchez in Venice, Italy. Reuters Over 1,000 times the cost of a US wedding While Bezos and Sanchez are shelling out $46 million for their nuptials, a study shows that this is over 1,000 times the cost of an average US wedding. A study by Zola predicts that couples in America will spend roughly $36,000 (Rs 30.7 lakh) for a wedding, up from $31,000 (Rs 26.5 lakh) in 2024. The study also notes that more than 50 per cent of couples are expected to go over budget. Brooke Avishay, the owner of Orange Blossom Special Events, was quoted as saying that the price of weddings in the US has been steadily rising for the past five years. 'This surge is largely due to inflation and the aftereffects of the Covid-19 pandemic. When weddings were put on hold in 2020, the industry suffered, and many small, specialised businesses experienced staffing shortages. Once events resumed in 2021, the sudden, overwhelming demand — combined with limited vendor capacity — naturally drove up prices, a trend that has held steady into 2025.' STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Wedding planners also point out that social media can skew one's perception of what the 'typical' wedding costs. With inputs from agencies

Kajol recalls losing memory after fall on Kuch Kuch Hota Hai set: 'Shah Rukh Khan gave me medicine, Karan Johar told me I was a background dancer'
Kajol's memory loss incident on the set of 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' resurfaces with new humorous details shared by Farah Khan and Kajol herself. The actress recounts SRK's worried reaction and Karan Johar's potential mischief, while Farah reveals a quirky superstition about heroines falling on set as a good luck charm for the film's success. Some behind-the-scenes stories never lose their charm — especially when they involve iconic films, beloved stars, and a touch of chaos. Kajol 's unforgettable memory loss incident from the sets of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai has long been part of Bollywood lore. But now, as the actress revisits the moment with fresh humour and hilarious new details on Farah Khan 's vlog and in recent interviews, fans are getting a whole new take on what really happened that day — complete with panicked co-stars, a surprise recovery, and Karan Johar 's mischievous antics. Kajol recently appeared on Farah's vlog along with her team. During their light-hearted conversation, Farah revisited the well-known incident from the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai shoot, where Kajol fell off a bicycle and temporarily lost her memory. Adding a playful spin, Farah joked that the memory loss may have been Kajol's way of blocking out Karan Johar's presence on set. Kajol, in her trademark wit, responded with a hilarious theory of her own—suggesting Karan might've seen it as the perfect chance to convince her she was just a background dancer. Recalling SRK's reaction during the incident, Kajol shared how he had been genuinely worried as she sat dazed with a pounding head. While he tried to offer her medicine, she kept refusing, insisting she didn't take tablets. Strangely, three hours later, her memory returned, and she felt completely normal — though she had no recollection of what happened in that time. Shah Rukh, amused and relieved, pointed out that she had taken the medicine after all, calling her an idiot for forgetting even that. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo In another interview with Mashable India, Kajol delved deeper into the chaos that followed the accident. She revealed that both Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar were completely shaken as she sat crying, confused, and unable to recognise anyone. In her disoriented state, she kept asking who they were and insisting she wanted to go home — only to realise they were shooting in Mauritius, far from home, making the situation even more surreal and stressful for everyone involved. On her vlog, Farah Khan shared a quirky superstition from her filmmaking days — that if a heroine took a fall on set, the film was destined to succeed. She recalled how Kajol had stumbled on nearly every project they worked on together, including Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and joked that her falls became a good luck charm. The belief grew so strong that during the shoot of Kal Ho Naa Ho, when Preity Zinta accidentally fell on a bridge, the team felt oddly reassured about the film's fate. Farah even joked that these days, she's tempted to give her actors a gentle push — just to keep the hit streak going.
