Man injured in shooting near Emmett Avenue and Jane street: police

A man has been taken to hospital after a shooting in Toronto's west end Saturday night.
Toronto police say officers responded to reports of gunfire near Emmett Avenue and Jane Street just after 10 p.m.
When they arrived, officers found a male victim with a gunshot wound. He was transported to hospital by paramedics. His condition has not been released.
Police say the suspect fled the area before officers arrived.
The investigation is ongoing.

Man charged in Chesley after barricading himself in a residence

At approximately 3 p.m., South Bruce OPP, West Region OPP Emergency Response Team, Crisis Negotiators and West Region OPP K-9 responded to a disturbance on 1st Avenue North. About 10 hours later, on June 8 at approximately 1 a.m., the man was placed into custody without incident. He's been charged with two counts of uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm, mischief – destroys or damages property and fail to comply with probation order. The accused is pending a bail hearing.

Ontario police look for shooting suspect who may be in Montreal
Police have released photos of a suspect who allegedly discharged a firearm inside a Petawawa apartment building hallway in March. (OPP/Handout) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are looking for a suspect involved in an Upper Ottawa Valley shooting who may be in Montreal. The shooting happened on March 22 when a man fired in the hallway of an apartment building on Wolfe Avenue in Petawawa. Police later learned the suspect targeted the wrong home. No injuries were reported. The shooter reportedly fled on foot and is still at large. OPP believe he is in the Montreal area. The suspect is described as a white male between 30 and 40 years old, about 5′10″ with a thin build who was last seen wearing a dark-coloured medical mask, dark jacket and dark pants. He is considered armed and a potential risk to public safety. If seen, people are urged to call 9-1-1 and to not approach the individual. Search warrants were obtained in Ontario and Quebec on Thursday as part of the investigation. Eight people were arrested and charged with a total of 47 offences. During the investigation, police seized the following items quantities: Nine millimetre handgun with serial number removed Two replica handguns Ammunition 17,000 suspected methamphetamine tablets 15.5 kg suspected cocaine 12.3 kg suspected fentanyl 124 g suspected crack cocaine 3,000 suspected hydromorphone tablets 112 g suspected crystal methamphetamine Jewelry valued at $150,000 More than $264,000 in Canadian currency The estimated street value of the drugs seized is more than $2.5 million.
