The film world sees her as a top star with fresh ideas. People who make movies now look up to Shriya. Her name means something big in movies today! ZEE5 Hindi web series: A Wedding Becomes a Mystery Where a Murder Occurs

The story shows what happens when friends face tough times. These wedding guests kept their real feelings buried deep down. But now? Their true faces show! Things they never wanted anyone to know burst into the open at the worst time. The truth crashes their perfect party just when nobody expects it! Besides challenging Devika at work, the investigation compels everyone to face hard truths and unexpected challenges. What Makes the Hindi Web Series on ZEE5 Chhal Kapat Different?
Chhal Kapat—The Deception fits within the crime thriller and mystery profile, but it stands out because of its special storytelling and the way it builds characters, compared to other Hindi web series on ZEE5 and elsewhere.
A lead character with mixed morals
Inspector Devika Rathore is not a standard good-guy-bad-guy character. Her flaws are obvious; she has many arguments with people, and her background gives her personality more complexity. Thanks to this complication, the genre is kept fresh, giving viewers a main character who is easy to connect with and who is difficult to figure out.
Close and Cramped Area
The wedding gathering in a small town plays a big role in creating tension in the show. Because the characters are together all the time, the low tension makes it hard for viewers to trust anyone.
Help Women Gain Power
This show puts a woman in the driver's seat – not some man! Inspector Devika Rathore breaks the rules. Other crime shows have guys solving crimes. Not this one! Shriya plays a tough cop who tackles the hard case. She shows no fear. She makes her own rules!
Feelings Hide Under Clues
You want to solve the mystery. But the show digs deeper! It shows how friends trust and hurt each other. Old actions from the past jump up and bite people now. The story twists and turns with each new secret that pops out!
Final Verdict
ZEE5's Hindi show 'Chhal Kapat: The Deception' stands out from the pack. It flips the crime story on its head! A wedding should bring joy – but this one brings murder! The happy face of the wedding hides dark secrets underneath.
Shriya Pilgaonkar makes Inspector Devika come alive on screen. You feel like you know her! The cast brings their best work. The camera work pulls you right into the story. The plot keeps you guessing until the end. Watch this if boring murder shows put you to sleep! This one wakes you up!
If you like thrillers full of interesting people and difficult decisions, you'll love watching this. The series premiered in June 2025; you can watch it first on ZEE5. There's much suspense, mystery, and story ahead.

Zee Entertainment shares gain over 2% after equity partnership with content startup Bullet to launch micro-drama app
By Aditya Bhagchandani Published on June 10, 2025, 09:21 IST Shares of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) rose over 2.5% to ₹130.66 in early trade on Tuesday, following the company's announcement of a strategic equity partnership with Bullet, a new-age content and tech start-up. The stock opened higher and traded in the range of ₹129.10–₹131.29 on the NSE. In an official statement, ZEEL revealed that it would invest in or acquire a stake in Bullet, though the financial details of the deal have not been disclosed. Co-founded by Azim Lalani and Saurabh Kushwah, Bullet is set to launch India's first micro-drama application, which focuses on fast-paced, creator-driven, short-duration vertical format episodes designed to attract younger audiences. According to the companies, Bullet will be launched within the Zee5 ecosystem, enabling seamless access to bite-sized, high-quality entertainment content for the platform's vast user base. The announcement comes on the heels of Zee Entertainment's strong Q4 performance. The broadcaster reported a net profit of Rs 188.4 crore in the March quarter, compared to just Rs 13.4 crore in the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter rose marginally to Rs 2,184 crore, and EBITDA surged 42% YoY to Rs 298 crore. The company also saw margin expansion to 13.6% from 9.7%. Market participants have responded positively to the company's investment in the fast-growing short-format content space, which is expected to align with evolving viewer habits and further strengthen Zee5's position in the competitive OTT market. Zee Entertainment Partners With Bullet for Indian Micro-Drama App
Zee Entertainment Enterprises is betting big on micro-dramas as the next frontier in Indian digital entertainment, revealing a strategic equity partnership with startup Bullet to launch a micro-drama application. The Mumbai-based media giant will invest in and acquire a stake in Bullet, which has been co-founded by serial entrepreneurs Azim Lalani and Saurabh Kushwah. The new platform will be integrated within Zee's ZEE5 ecosystem, giving it immediate access to the streaming service's established user base. The platform aims to deliver what Lalani calls 'masala-paced plots and emotional punch, tailored for binge-watching in short bursts.' India is relatively new to the micro-drama trend compared to neighbor China, where revenue from the format was $6.9 billion, exceeding local box office for the first time, per DataEye statistics. Multiple projections point to the market size for micro-dramas rising to $14 billion by 2028 in China alone. Zee's strategic move comes as Indian audiences increasingly gravitate toward bite-sized content consumption, particularly on mobile devices. The company sees the partnership as part of its broader transformation into what it calls a 'Content & Technology powerhouse.' 'As the digital ecosystem grows exponentially, we are constantly identifying several value-accretive opportunities to drive scale,' said a Zee spokesperson. 'Our strategic partnership with Bullet aims to build a competitive advantage for the future by identifying innovative formats and scaling them through our platforms to drive stronger monetization.' The Bullet app will leverage several features including AI-powered personalization and content pricing, gamification layers designed to boost user retention through reward mechanisms, and creator-generated content pipelines that allow independent creators and studios to monetize their work. Both Bullet co-founders bring significant media industry experience to the venture. Lalani has over 25 years in the industry, having held leadership positions at Network18, TV9, and Indian Express. Kushwah, a media-tech entrepreneur with 18 years of experience, has worked across Zee Entertainment, Times of India, Network18, and ABP News. Both were founding members of Fanory, a creator monetization startup backed by marquee investors. 'Having witnessed multiple content revolutions over the past two decades, I believe we are now at the cusp of the next big shift,' Lalani said. 'There has been an influx of short-form content consumption over the last few years, and with the launch of Bullet, we aim to combine the novelty of the format with fast-paced captivating stories for users.' Kushwah added: 'The convergence of creators, technology, and storytelling is reshaping digital entertainment. At Bullet, we are building a platform that not only entertains but also enables. With gamified layers, AI-backed content ops, and a creator-first ecosystem, we're shaping the future of micro-drama in India – and beyond.' The app will be available across multiple languages, tapping into Zee's extensive content engine and language repertoire. This multi-lingual approach aligns with the growing demand for regional content across India's diverse market.
