Rajinikanth's Coolie Leaked On Torrent Websites, Up For Free Download Hours After Release
Last Updated: Rajinikanth's film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, was leaked online after its release August 14. Piracy sites like Tamilrockerz shared versions, risking its box office run. Rajinikanth's new action drama Coolie barely got through its first morning in cinemas before online pirates got to work. By midday on August 14, high-quality and low-resolution copies of the film were already flooding illegal sites and Telegram groups, putting its big-screen run at risk. Links to the full movie quickly appeared on piracy hubs like Tamilrockers, Filmyzilla, Movierulez and Moviesda. From 1080p HD to grainy 240p rips, every version was being shared within hours. Telegram channels also joined the leak spree, making the film widely available for free. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie stars Rajinikanth alongside Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan and Shruti Haasan. The story follows Deva, a former gold smuggler who tries to regain his lost power through stolen technology hidden inside vintage golden watches – a mission that soon spirals into dangerous consequences. The Legal Risks of Downloading Coolie From Torrent Watching Coolie through illegal means isn't just unfair to the creators – it's a punishable offence in India. Under copyright law, piracy can lead to fines of up to ₹2 lakh and even jail time. Cybersecurity experts also warn that piracy platforms often carry hidden threats like malware, spyware and phishing links. These can lead to stolen personal data, hacked accounts or financial scams. Many of these sites also push adult or gambling content, creating extra risks for younger viewers. Why Piracy Hurts More Than Just Box Office Numbers Every pirated download means lost earnings for the actors, crew and production teams who worked on the film. It also damages the overall quality of the movie-watching experience – most leaked copies suffer from distorted sound, abrupt scene jumps and distracting watermarks.
