Comic-Con International, held annually at the San Diego Convention Centre, brings together fans who celebrate their favourite comic books, movies, television and video games.
This year's convention, which runs until Sunday and is expected to draw 135,000 attendees, will feature updates on the new Predator movie and Alien series, as well a special appearance by George Lucas.

Since then, Harry has been struggling with how to stay in touch with his family in the U.K., since his father, King Charles, will not reinstate automatic security for his family. They lost their appeal on the matter in April of this year. In June, source told People that the couple has different perspectives on how to move forward with Charles and Harry's brother, Prince William. 'They're aware of everything going on in England, but they're being left out of the details—there's clearly no trust,' said the insider, adding that Meghan is 'focused on the future,' and 'is very business about it.' The Duchess of Sussex 'wishes her husband could feel less burdened by the past and more present in the life they've built together.' Charles has been receiving treatments for cancer, and Harry has struggled to remain in the loop about how his father is doing. 'It's been difficult for him to even get proper updates about his dad,' the source explained. Inglewood residents complain of noise from HARD Summer music festival, Lady Gaga concert
Inglewood residents are once against raising concerns over the booming noise brought on by the HARD Summer music festival, which is this time paired with Lady Gaga playing right across the street. Tens of thousands of fans flocked to Hollywood Park, next to SoFi Stadium for the HARD Summer festival and just steps away from the Kia Forum, where Lady Gaga is closing out the Los Angeles leg of her "The Mayhem Ball Tour." "I just love the energy, trying to have a good time, going to have fun," said Armando Alvarez, one of the thousands in Inglewood on Saturday for the music. "It doesn't matter where I am, just trying to have an adventure and go with the flow." While some concertgoers like Alvarez love the vibes in Inglewood, some residents are already fed up with the dueling performances. "It just sounded like a lot of banging, a lot of cheering and a lot of loud drumming," said Latrice Bates. She lives just down the street from SoFi Stadium and recalls the impact last year's HARD Summer festival had on her son. "He tosses and turns. He wakes up and says he can't sleep," Bates said. Last year, complaints came from as far as the South Bay, including places like El Segundo and Redondo Beach. City officials in the area reported more than 100 noise complaints from the festival, which led them to ban performances from the SoFi's American Airlines Plaza. Inglewood Mayor James Butts said that he wants the city to be an entertainment hub, but promised that this year's event would differ from last year's. "Last year, what happened was the main stage was American Airlines Plaza, 50 feet elevated from the floor of SoFi, and it was facing west and that, combined with atmospheric conditions, allowed the bass frequencies to run along the clouds," Butts said. He said that a changeup in where speakers were located, along with a newly-implemented concert curfew to coincide with the city curfew of 10 p.m., should help lessen residents' concerns. "It ran over last year. It will not run over this year," he said. "If I have to pull the plug myself, it will end at 10 o'clock." Prior to this weekend, HARD Summer event planners said that they were aware of last year's complaints, and that "extensive efforts" were taken "to mitigate sound levels with operational changes." Despite these promises from city officials and event organizers, some people living in the South Bay still took to social media to comment on the sound from the events, which some said they planned on reporting once again.

New entertainment venue in West Sacramento set to open at former Safeway location
A brand-new entertainment venue in West Sacramento is set to open next week. The Boulevard will feature an arcade, bowling alley and restaurant. The 37,000 square foot venue is on West Capitol Avenue and will be in what used to be a Safeway that closed in 2018. "West Sacramento is growing, and we're super happy to be a part of everything that is happening for West Sacramento," said Tami Thompson, the director of marketing. The entertainment venue has something for families and the 21-and-up crowd. "We have a lot of immersive gaming, we have over 65 of the latest state-of-the-art arcade games," Thompson said. The venue offers spark bowling, a tech-twist on the classic game with light-up lanes that follow the ball as it moves towards the pins. There's also a restaurant and bar, laser tag and billiards. But it may be the 30 televisions and 17-foot "wow" wall that puts the new business on the watch list for sports fans with Major League Baseball a few blocks away. "You can come watch the A's game, come after the game, we're trying to be a regional attraction for the greater Sacramento area," Thompson said. Thompson said the location, just off Interstate 80 and near Sutter Health Park, sets the Boulevard apart from other area attractions. "Maybe visitors who aren't from West Sacramento can come up here and reach us in a reasonable amount of time," Thompson said. With dozens of new jobs created for the city, the final step, opening day, is a week from Friday. There's a VIP event on Wednesday. A paid ticket gets you in first and all the proceeds go to three local charities: Loaves and Fishes, Habitat for Humanity and the Yolo County Children's Alliance.
