Nick and Vanessa Lachey List Their Modern SoCal Farmhouse for $7.5 Million

Yahoo4 hours ago

It's been barely a year since Nick and Vanessa Lachey put their snazzy Honolulu residence up for sale and doled out $6.8 million for all-new modern farmhouse-style digs in Los Angeles. Now the married reality TV show hosts are already looking to offload their stylish spread tucked away in a prime pocket of Encino with a $700,000 jump in price, asking just under $7.5 million. Craig Knizek and Mauricio Umansky of the Agency share the listing.
Completed in 2023, the six-bedroom, nine-bathroom abode rests amid a secluded cul-de-sac parcel spanning nearly half an acre in the gated Amstoy Estates neighborhood. Roughly 8,200 square feet of three-level living space is accented with white oak floors, high ceilings, and designer lighting throughout, and the property is securely protected by a perimeter-wide surveillance system.

A soaring wood door pivots open into the entry foyer, which flows to a fireside living room, an ensuite guest bedroom, and another bedroom that's ideally suited for an office. An open-concept great room's formal dining area and family room flow to the kitchen, which is outfitted with stone countertops, a large eat-in island, Thermador appliances, and a butler's pantry.
The lower level is decked out with a vaulted safe room, a movie theater, a gym, a recreation room, and a seated bar with a glass-encased wine wall. And a floating wood-railed staircase winds its way up to the top floor, where the primary suite flaunts a fireplace, dual designer showroom closets, and a luxe marble bath equipped with two vanities, a makeup counter, a soaking tub, and a steam shower.

The amenities continue in the turf-clad backyard, which hosts a covered terrace flanked by a barbecue station, a pool with a Baja shelf and spa, and a fire pit conversation area nestled beside a cabana. Out in front of the two-tone structure is a double-gated circular driveway that empties out at an attached three-car garage, with a sports court sitting discreetly off to the side.
The co-hosts of Netflix's reality dating shows Love Is Blind and The Ultimatum purchased their Hawaii home near Oahu's Kahala Beach in 2022 for $8.8 million, soon after Vanessa was cast in the CBS show NCIS: Hawaiʻi in 2021, and subsequently sold it last summer for nearly $9.5 million soon after the police procedural was canceled after three seasons. Before moving to Hawaii, they also transferred an L.A.-area home to tennis pro Naomi Osaka for $6.3 million.

These Are LA's New Michelin Bib Gourmand Restaurants for 2025

On the heels of the 2025 Michelin Guide California ceremony held June 25, this year's lineup of Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurants has been announced. While Michelin stars mainly highlight high-end, fine dining restaurants, the Michelin Guide awards Bib Gourmands to restaurants that offer 'good quality, good value cooking.' The Bib Gourmand designation is intended to spotlight more affordable restaurants, bridging the gap between the Michelin Guide and the stars. At these establishments, diners can expect two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for approximately $50 USD, before tax and tip. This year, six new Bib Gourmands were awarded in California, with three going to restaurants in the Los Angeles area. The newest Bib Gourmands are Komal, Rasarumah, and Vin Folk. Komal, opened by Holbox alumnus chef Fátima Juárez and Conrado Rivera in Mercado La Paloma, is a love letter to the pre-Hispanic dishes Juárez grew up eating in Mexico City and Oaxaca. The restaurant uses Indigenous corn sourced directly from farmers in Mexico and then nixtamalized on-site in dishes like a flor de calabaza quesadilla, chorizo-topped Taco Sonia, and tender oval-shaped tlacoyos. In Hermosa Beach, Vin Folk serves an ambitious French-leaning menu that incorporates international influences from Somni and Maude veteran Kevin De Los Santos, and Katya Shatova, who previously worked at NoMad LA and Vespertine. Filipinotown's Rasarumah offers modern Chinese Malaysian cooking from former Pearl River Deli chef Johnny Lee, with dishes like beef rendang, char kway teow, and a classic gado gado salad. The 2025 Michelin Guide ceremony was especially exciting for Los Angeles, with the city finally seeing its first three-Michelin-starred restaurants. Aitor Zabala's Somni and Michael Ciramusti's Providence were both honored with the three-star designation, while new one-star entrants included Restaurant Ki, Mori Nozomi, and Silvers Omakase. F1: The Movie, of which seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is an executive producer, was released this week. Pitt, 61, plays the role of veteran driver Sonny Hayes, who returns to the grid after a long absence, with fictional team APX GP. Hunt, the 1976 world champion, was famed for his charisma and maverick approach to motor racing. James Hunt was known for his maverick style (PA Archive) Speaking ahead of this weekend's Austrian Grand Prix, Hamilton said: 'Firstly, I didn't write it. The writer, Ehren (Kruger), I am sure he was looking at people like James Hunt. 'He wanted a really cool character and he was looking at the characters from back in the (Ayrton) Senna days, so a combination of those drivers and I would say the James Hunt vibe. 'I don't know if that is what he ultimately chose, but that is the character I feel resembles very closely to him (Hayes) – a very cool, calm, good-looking cat and an elder statesmen within the team.' Pitt's rookie team-mate Joshua Pearce is played by British actor Damson Idris. Filming took place across multiple races over the last two seasons, and F1 chiefs hope the movie will follow the popularity of Netflix's Drive To Survive series in cracking America. Brad Pitt, Joseph Kosinski, Lewis Hamilton and Kerry Condon (Ian West/PA) The film premiered in New York last Monday and Hamilton was in Times Square along with the majority of the grid's drivers and cast. He continued: 'When you are reading the script it is hard to see how it will play out, but then to be at the premiere in the middle of Times Square and having Brad up on the screen with a Formula One car and the F1 logo, I was like, 'holy crap, this is absolutely insane'. 'That experience was great and for me a moment I will never forget. 'I had seen the film so many times on my laptop, watching every different section for so long and making comments as we edited and improved it, and I was like, 'I have seen it already so I am going to leave and go to dinner', but I decided to stay and to see everyone's reaction after it finished was one of the coolest things and really special.'

Formula 1 Pro Lewis Hamilton Was 'Impressed' by Brad Pitt's Natural Race Car Driving Skills on 'F1' (Exclusive)

F1 director Joseph Kosinski revealed to PEOPLE that Formula One pro Lewis Hamilton was "impressed" by Brad Pitt's natural driving talent Of Pitt and costar Damson Idris, Kosinski adds, "They both trained for four months" F1 revs into theaters Friday, June 27Brad Pitt's driving skills might just live up to some of the best in Formula One, as far as Lewis Hamilton is concerned. In an exclusive chat with PEOPLE surrounding their new movie F1, director Joseph Kosinksi says that Formula One pro Hamilton, 40 — who co-produced and also appears in the sports drama — praised star Pitt, 61, for his hands-on approach to his stunts. "I had Lewis Hamilton drive with Brad right at the beginning to kind of see his level of skill," says Kosinski, 51. "And Lewis was really impressed that Brad kind of had that talent right out of the gate." Of Pitt and costar Damson Idris, the director adds, "They both trained for four months — really intense training to get up to the level they needed to shoot this movie." Pitt leads F1 as both a co-producer and its star, playing retired racer Sonny Hayes who returns to Formula One in a fictional team. Idris, 33, costars as Joshua Pierce, Sonny's rookie teammate. The two men — who have different approaches — immediately clash. Indeed, according to the film's official synopsis, Idris' character is "intent on setting his own pace." The Ehren Kruger-written film, made in collaboration with real-life F1 athletes like producer Hamilton, also stars Kerry Condon, Kim Bodnia, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies and Sarah Niles. Asked about whether he was concerned for Pitt's safety when they began filming, Kosinski tells PEOPLE that the filmmakers "didn't just hope for the best," as they "knew he was a skilled driver." "We had the best drivers in the world around him, training him. He had been on the simulator. So we did everything the right way. We were in [a Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile]-approved car — this wasn't a movie car. This is a real race car with the safety cell and everything," he explains. "So we were doing it the right way." "But still, yeah, there's a point where you're like, 'This is really intense,' " Kosinski adds. is now available in the Apple App Store! The director praises Idris and Pitt as "natural athletes," crediting the Pitt's "years of riding motorcycles" for giving him "a feel for the car" in F1. As for the Oscar winner's willingness to get behind the wheel, Kosinski jokes they "had to tear him out of" the car once filming wrapped. "The saddest day for Brad was when we said, 'It's a wrap,' and he had to climb out of the car," the filmmaker tells PEOPLE. "He just loved it. [Brad and Damson] both had the best time."
