Jesse Love adds at least two more Cup Series races with RCR
May 6 - Jesse Love will get two more opportunities to race in the NASCAR Cup Series for Richard Childress Racing when he competes at Kansas Speedway on Sunday and at Richmond Raceway on Aug. 16.
The 20-year-old Xfinity Series driver made his Cup Series debut at Bristol Motor Speedway for RCR on April 13 when he finished 31st. His second Cup Series race came Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway for Beard Motorsports when he crashed with 50 laps remaining and did not finish.
"I'm looking forward to being back behind the wheel of the No. 33 C4 Ultimate Energy Chevrolet this weekend at Kansas," Love said in an RCR release. "Kansas has been a great track for me throughout my career and to have the opportunity to run the Cup car consecutive weeks on a mile-and-a-half track is going to be valuable experience."
Love, a native of Northern California, is currently in fourth place in the Xfinity Series standings for RCR despite being disqualified following a post-race inspection after winning at Rockingham last month. He won the Xfinity season-opening race at Daytona.
In addition to Xfinity and Cup Series experience, Love was the ARCA Menards Series champion in 2023 for Venturini Motorsports.

Star F Hilary Knight signs with expansion Seattle franchise
June 5 - The expansion Seattle franchise of the Professional Women's Hockey League signed legendary forward Hilary Knight to a one-year contract on Wednesday. Knight was left exposed in the expansion draft by the Boston Fleet. Seattle and fellow expansion franchise Vancouver were given a five-day window from June 4-8 to sign a maximum of five players prior to the June 9 zxdraft. Knight, a four-time U.S. Olympian who recently announced her intention to play in the 2026 Games in Milan, tied for the PWHL lead of 29 points (15 goals, 14 assists) in the recently concluded season. It was her second season with the Fleet. "Signing Hilary Knight was an absolute no-brainer -- she's the heartbeat of any team she joins," Seattle general manager Meghan Turner said in a news release. "Her proven leadership and drive, the way she elevates everyone around her, those are qualities you can't teach. "Hilary's not just a game-changer on the ice, she's the kind of person who defines a culture, and we're incredibly proud to have her as the first-ever player to join PWHL Seattle." Knight, who turns 36 in July, has won one Olympic gold medal and three silvers. She had a regulation-time goal when the U.S. famously beat Canada in a shootout to win the 2018 gold medal in South Korea. In the 2022 Olympics, Knight had six goals and four assists. Overall, she has 12 goals and 15 assists in 22 Olympic contests. She also owns a record 15 medals (10 gold, five silver) at the Women's World Championships. The most recent gold came in April. "I'm incredibly proud to be part of bringing professional women's hockey to the Pacific Northwest," Knight said. "Seattle holds a special place in my heart, and I'm beyond excited to join PWHL Seattle in such a storied sports city. I'm grateful to Meghan Turner for believing in me and bringing me on board as part of this new chapter. "To my teammates, the staff, and the fans of Boston --- thank you. The Fleet wasn't just a team, it was home. These past two seasons were some of the most meaningful of my career, and I'll carry those memories with me forever." Across all levels of U.S. national team play, Knight has 161 goals and 125 assists in 243 games. The longtime resident of Sun Valley, Idaho, was a college star at Wisconsin and helped the Badgers win two national championships. Diamondbacks hold off Braves for 3rd straight win
June 5 - Merrill Kelly allowed only one hit over seven scoreless innings and the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks held on to defeat the Atlanta Braves 2-1 on Wednesday for their third straight win. Kelly (6-2) allowed one walk and struck out eight. He did not allow a base runner until Marcell Ozuna walked to lead off the fifth inning. Atlanta's first hit came with two out in the sixth on a line drive single by Ronald Acuna Jr. Arizona has won the first two games of the three-game set and takes a 3-2 edge in the season series. The Braves have lost three in a row. Atlanta starter Chris Sale (3-4) worked six innings and allowed one run on three hits, four walks and 10 strikeouts -- giving him 2,510 for his career and passing Hall of Famer Christy Mathewson for 39th on the all-time strikeout list. It was Sale's first career loss to the Diamondbacks. Arizona scored in the third inning. Geraldo Perdomo worked a leadoff walk and scored on a two-out single by Lourdes Gurriel Jr., which extended his hitting streak to 10 games. The Diamondbacks added another run in the ninth off Raisel Iglesias. Tim Tawa doubled and scored on Ketel Marte's RBI single. The Braves came up empty on a threat in the eighth. Kelce, who was pictured out to dinner with Swift on Wednesday night in Palm Springs, is slowly starting to ramp up his preparations for the 2025 NFL season. He was at the Chiefs' facility for voluntary OTAs last week as he builds up to try and avenge February's emphatic Super Bowl loss to Philadelphia Eagles. The Chiefs begin the upcoming season against the Los Angeles Chargers in Sao Paulo, Brazil on September 5. Kelce joked on a recent New Heights show that he didn't want to play in Brazil, telling older brother Jason: 'There's just something about getting close to the equator, I don't want to put on football uniform. I've been in Jacksonville in September, that's f***ing miserable. ''Sao Paulo, is that by the water? I'd rather it be dry than humid, I'm a sweaty guy. If it is humid, I am going to be miserable. But I am going to find a way to get a win. 'I am going to be sweating so bad. I am going to have to ask the equipment guys for a couple jerseys, maybe three pairs of pants. Maybe four cleats, I might just go through a pair.'
