Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan: Shivraj Singh Chouhan holds meeting with State Agriculture Ministers
New Delhi [India], May 19 (ANI): The Central Government is taking consistent and decisive steps to make the agricultural sector self-reliant, modern, and prosperous.
In line with this commitment, a significant virtual meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Union Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, attended by agriculture ministers from across the country and Delhi Government's Development Minister Kapil Mishra, Office of the Minister of Development, Delhi Government said in a press release.
The primary objective of the meeting was to review preparations and ensure coordination for the upcoming 'Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan.'
This nationwide campaign will be conducted from May 29 to June 12, 2025, with the goal of delivering modern techniques, scientific knowledge, and welfare schemes of both the Central and state governments to farmers. The campaign is a crucial step toward realising the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, encapsulated in the concepts of 'Lab to Land' and 'Viksit Bharat 2047.'
In Delhi, the campaign will cover 87 villages and include 36 programs. Delhi's Development Minister Kapil Mishra extended full support to the initiative, stating, 'Special emphasis will be placed on the implementation of Central and Delhi Government schemes in Delhi to enhance the production and productivity of Kharif crops, ensuring farmers receive fair prices for their produce. Through these programs, natural farming will also be promoted under the National Mission on Natural Farming Scheme, with a particular focus on improving soil fertility and health.'
Kapil Mishra issued several directives to Delhi Government officials, including improving farmer outreach and strengthening awareness about Kharif crop management and productivity enhancement.
This nationwide campaign will be implemented across more than 65,000 villages in 723 districts of the country, engaging directly with over 1.30 crore farmers. Scientists from ICAR, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, state agriculture departments, agricultural universities, and innovation-focused institutions will unite as a single team to work toward the goal of advanced agriculture and prosperous farmers.
Reiterating the spirit of 'One Nation, One Agriculture, One Team,' Shivraj Singh Chauhan said during the meeting, 'This program is not a mere formality; it is a grand endeavour to bring prosperity to the lives of farmers. This campaign embodies the spirit of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, and Sabka Prayas,' aiming to transform the agricultural landscape and the destiny of farmers. It will work miracles in agriculture, changing both the fortunes of farmers and the face of the sector. I urge everyone to join this revolutionary campaign and contribute to building a developed agriculture for a Viksit Bharat.'
During the meeting, agriculture ministers and officials from various states provided their suggestions on the structure of the campaign, and the Union Minister assured their inclusion. Emphasis was placed on collective efforts to make this campaign more people-centric, impactful, and inclusive. (ANI)

Condemn This So-Called Bangladesh Election...: Awami League Leader Rabbi Alam
Rabbi Alam, Chairman of Joy Bangla Brigade and vice president of Bangladesh Awami League, USA, has condemned the announcement of national election by the interim government of Bangladesh and maintained that Sheikh Hasina "is the duly elected Prime Minister" till 2029. In an interview with ANI, Alam slammed Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor of the interim government of Bangladesh, for announcing that a national election would be held in the first half of April 2026. Sheikh Hasina, president of Awami League, was ousted from power in a student-led uprising in August last year. She fled to India, and an interim government led by Muhammad Yunus, a Nobel Laureate, was formed. "As you know, Bangladesh went through was a false flag operation. The protest led by the students was hijacked by (people now in) the interim government headed by Dr Yunus," Rabbi Alam alleged. Rabbi Alam said "many false allegations, many false claims, empty promises" were made. He said the announcement of a national election is "like a lollipop being handed to a young child". Rabbi Alam said Bangladesh is to be run by a democratic form of government. "Our constitution is the core of the fundamentals of the nation and this constitution gives the rights. Sheikh Hasina is democratically elected. We will condemn this so-called election because, according to our constitution, Sheikh Hasina is the Prime Minister until 2029. People are the main powerhouse in a democratic form of government. People voted, elected Sheikh Hasina...," he said. "With a false flag operation, Dr Yunus robbed our democracy," he alleged. He expressed concern over the law and order situation in Bangladesh and blamed Muhammad Yunus. "We know that the country faced a heavy backlash. There are many incidents of rape, killing, arson, burning, fire. Lynching, mob justice is every day matter," he alleged. He also said that Dr Yunus "doesn't understand politics" and "is an economist". Bangladesh's interim government on Friday announced that the national election will be held in the first half of April 2026. "I am announcing to the countrymen today that the next national elections will be held sometime in the first half of April 2026. Based on this announcement, the Election Commission will provide you with a detailed roadmap for the elections in due course", said Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser to the interim government of Bangladesh, in an address to the nation through state television, BTV, on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha. Political parties in Bangladesh have expressed mixed reactions to the announcement of the national election.

"Visit very good, Germany condemned terrorism": Ravi Shankar Prasad
Berlin [Germany], June 7 (ANI): BJP MP and all-party delegation leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday described the visit to Germany to convey India's resolute and united stand against terrorism highly successful, noting that Germany has condemned terrorism as well as expressed solidarity with India. Following an interaction at a community event in Berlin, Prasad highlighted the enthusiasm of the Indian diaspora inspired by India's growth under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and emphasised that the delegation's concerns were heard across six countries, with their mission to expose Pakistan-sponsored terrorism gaining traction. 'There is a lot of enthusiasm among Indians in Berlin. They are very inspired by India's growth story and the action taken by the country against terrorists under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Our visit to Germany has been very good. Germany has also condemned terrorism. We are very satisfied with the visit. We were given a lot of respect in the six countries we visited, and our concerns were heard, and our stance has been made clear,' Prasad added. Former Union Minister and part of Prasad's delegation, MJ Akbar, underscored PM Modi's leadership in the global fight against terrorism, particularly along religious pretexts. He further expressed optimism about the mission's success, suggesting a positive outlook for India-Germany bilateral ties. 'We hope we have played some part in ensuring that the mission that Prime Minister Modi sent us on has been successful. We have conveyed the message that PM Modi will lead the global fight against barbaric terrorism in the name of religion, and that has risen. The reception in Germany has been the most sympathetic. This also speaks well of the future of our bilateral relations,' he added. When we spoke to the governments of different countries, they showed sympathy towards India and are ready to stand with and support us. We emphasised with them that the IMF, which has been availed by Pakistan, needs to be monitored very closely. All the countries have expressed solidarity with India, and they will stand by us,' she stated. The delegation, led by Ravi Shankar Prasad, also includes BJP MP Samik Bhattacharya, Congress MP Amar Singh and Gulam Ali Khatana, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, AIADMK MP M Thambidurai and former diplomat Pankaj Saran.
