One dead following Ashtabula plane crash Sunday
One person is dead after an airplane crash in Ashtabula County, Ohio, on Sunday.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the incident happened just after 10 a.m. in Harpersfield Township on State Route 307.
The preliminary investigation showed a Zenith 701 with two people on board struck a tree and crashed.
Authorities confirmed one person was killed, and another received non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident remains under investigation..

Second suspect arrested in fake drug deal turned shooting at Love's
WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — A second suspect has been arrested in a fake drug deal that turned into a shooting at Love's Truck Stop about 10:45 p.m. on Friday, May 30. Rahab Ontiveros has been charged in connection with the shooting of Pedro Martinez. According to the arrest affidavit, before the shooting, Jose 'Pelon' Perez had asked Ontiveros to sell Martinez some truck equipment. However, Martinez didn't pay Perez the agreed-upon amount. Ontiveros went to a store and bought bath salts, which she and Perez planned to say was meth. They agreed to meet at Love's Truck Stop. Martinez and his girlfriend arrived at the Love's Truck Stop, where Martinez's friend, Marcelino Romero, joined them later. Perez and Ontiveros arrived in separate vehicles. Ontiveros also asked a friend of hers, Jose Salas, to be there, and in exchange, she would buy him a beer. Once everyone was there, Martinez's girlfriend went inside Love's. Ontiveros approached Martinez to make the fake drug deal. Martinez had Romero inspect the 'drugs', who quickly found out they were fake. At this point, Perez jumped out of his vehicle with his gun drawn and began firing. Multiple witnesses on the scene said they heard four to eight gunshots from the southside parking lot at Love's Truck Stop. Ontiveros got in her car and left the scene. Romero also left the scene. Perez, who was still armed, ran to Salas, who was not in on the plot and was driving away, and forced him to drive somewhere at gunpoint away from the scene. Ontiveros said she had taken the revolver to her residence on Borton, wrapped it in gray sweats, given it to her son, and told him to hide it. The gun, a Heritage Rough Rider .22 caliber long-barrel revolver, was located in a creek bed near the residence. Two men charged in connection with Kansas City burglary ring
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Jackson County Prosecutor's Office announced Friday that it has filed felony charges against two men for their alleged involvement in an organized burglary ring. The prosecutor's office said the organized ring is responsible for multiple burglaries across the Kansas City metro. Download WDAF+ for Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV Idonnas J. Gavrilys, 25, is charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, four counts of first-degree burglary and four counts of armed criminal action. Dante K. Investigators believe there are at least six suspects part of the organized burglary ring. Both Gavrilys and Draper are being held without bond in the county jail. The investigation is ongoing. Deputies: Wood thrown at officers in high-speed chase; ends in wrong-way crash on I-75
A pursuit that went through a large part of Montgomery County and ended on Interstate 75 ended in a 6-vehicle wrong-way crash after a man in the bed of the truck involved hurled 'large wooden boards' at law enforcement during the chase. Several people were riding in the truck, and one male was riding in the bed of the truck. The suspects are believed to be connected to recent thefts in the area, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office spokesperson. The driver of the truck attempted to hit an unmarked Sheriff's Office vehicle on U.S. 35 near Hoover Avenue and West Third Street. The male in the truck bed began throwing 'large wooden boards into the roadway to try and hit the law enforcement vehicles following them. Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and air support from the Ohio State Highway Patrol assisted in the pursuit. Deputies deployed multiple sets of stop sticks, but the truck was able to continue fleeing, according to the spokesperson. On U.S. 35 eastbound at Abbey Avenue, the truck crossed into oncoming traffic traveling westbound and narrowly avoided several head-on collisions. An unmarked Sheriff's vehicle struck the rear driver's side of the truck near James H. McGee Boulevard, but the truck regained control again and continued to flee, driving the wrong way into oncoming traffic. The truck struck another vehicle head-on at I-75 and Dryden Road, causing a six-vehicle crash. As previously reported on News Center 7, the crash closed I-75 in both directions for hours Thursday night. Four individuals from the fleeing truck tried to leave the scene on foot, but they were quickly caught by deputies. All four were taken to the hospital with injuries, as well as several others who were involved in the crash. No injuries have been reported as life-threatening, according to the spokesperson. The suspects may face charges of possession of drugs, aggravated vehicular assault, felony fleeing and eluding, and felonious assault on a peace officer.
