‘You don't know the population?' Tucker Carlson grills Senator Cruz on Iran; conservative rift deepens

A preview of Wednesday's Tucker Carlson Show shows a fiery on-air argument between conservative host Tucker Carlson and Republican Senator Ted Cruz. The two clashed over US involvement in the ongoing Israel–Iran conflict, at one point shouting over each other.
Cruz, who recently told Fox News it was 'very much in the interest of America to see regime change' in Iran, faced sharp questions from Carlson..
'How many people live in Iran by the way?' Carlson asked.
'I don't know the population,' Cruz replied.
'You don't know the population of the country you seek to topple?' Carlson pressed.
'I don't sit around memorising population tables,' Cruz shot back.
'Well, it's kinda relevant because you're calling for the overthrow of the government,' Carlson responded.
Their exchange grew more tense as they debated the ethnic makeup of Iran. 'I am not the Tucker Carlson expert on Iran!' Cruz shouted.
Carlson replied, 'No you're a senator who is calling to overthrow the country and you don't know anything about the country!'
Cruz accused Carlson of not knowing much either: 'You're the one who claims they're not trying to murder Donald Trump.' Carlson denied making such a claim and said he doubted Cruz believed that Iran was trying to assassinate Trump—arguing that if Cruz truly believed that, he would be pushing for direct US strikes.
Cruz is one of several lawmakers, both Republican and Democrat, who support a more active US role in the conflict.
Tucker Carlson has also turned against his former network and Donald Trump over their stance on the Iran–Israel conflict. Speaking on Steve Bannon's War Room recently, Carlson accused Fox News of pushing propaganda to promote military escalation.
'What they are doing is what they always do—turning up the propaganda hose to full blast and trying to knock elderly Fox viewers off their feet,' he said.
Carlson criticised Trump directly, saying the US president had become 'complicit in an act of war' following Israel's missile strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.
When asked about Carlson's remarks during the G7 summit, Trump dismissed him with a jab: 'I don't know what Tucker Carlson is saying. Let him go get a television network and say it so that people listen.'
Israel launched a major offensive against Iran last Thursday, striking its nuclear sites and top military leadership. The attacks damaged key infrastructure and killed several nuclear scientists. Iran responded with missile strikes of its own, escalating tensions further. US president Donald Trump is now said to be considering a direct strike on Iran's underground nuclear facility in Fordow, as regional tensions continue to rise.

Israel accuses China of helping Iran to rebuild its ballistic missiles programme, warns Beijing as it says..., its ambassador to US...

New Delhi: There has been a long-standing tension between Israel and Iran. Even though the war between the two countries has stopped, the sharp rhetoric is still going on. Meanwhile, Israel has claimed that China is helping Iran rebuild its ballistic missile program. Israel's ambassador to the US, Dr. Michael Leiter, has warned China that this is a very worrying sign. What did the Israeli ambassador say? The ambassador said, 'While we have succeeded in causing considerable damage to the program, it is now our responsibility to ensure that negative elements, especially China, do not help Iran rebuild it.' He also said that he was referring to reports of chemical precursors for missile fuel being sent from China to Iran, aimed at making the restoration of the missile array possible. The Israel Iran conflict Let us tell you that the war between Israel and Iran escalated significantly last month. The Israeli army targeted Iran's ballistic missile program, including launchers. Iran responded to the Israeli attacks that began on June 13 by firing more than 370 ballistic missiles at Israel in the first four days of the war. When USA and Iran launched attacks on each other The war between the two continued for several days, in which America also entered later. In coordination with Israel, the United States launched a series of strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. These attacks, part of Operation Midnight Hammer, involved the use of B-2 stealth bombers carrying bunker buster bombs and submarine-launched Tomahawk missiles. The strikes targeted facilities involved in uranium enrichment and nuclear research, with the goal of crippling Iran's nuclear programme. Following these attacks, Iran launched missiles at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar on 23 June 2025, in retaliation for the United States strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities on 22 June as part of the Iran–Israel war. The attack, codenamed Operation Glad Tidings of Victory, followed a 16 June drone attack by Iran on the US consulate in Erbil, Iraq.

Rep. Lauren Boebert's grandson was involved in an incident that resulted to her troublesome eldest son, Tyler Boebert, being charged with child abuse. Boebert, who serves in Colorado's fourth congressional district, described the occurrence as a 'one-time incident' and stated that the boy was unharmed. 'I am confident this is a one-time incident that we have addressed as a family,' the 38-year-old grandmother said. In 2023, the three-term congresswoman revealed that Tyler's partner became pregnant with his child while he was just 17 years old. This case is the most recent in a series of legal troubles affecting Boebert's eldest son. Cases against Tyler Boebert In September 2022, Tyler reportedly injured his passenger when he flipped his dad's SUV while driving. He was ticketed for reckless driving, but as part of a plea agreement with Garfield County prosecutors, the matter was ultimately reduced to a 'defective vehicle for headlights' violation. Tyler reported his father's abuse of him at their house to the police in January 2024. In a Garfield County arrest document, Jayson Boebert was charged with pushing Tyler to the floor and putting his thumb in his mouth, which led to his arrest. Tyler was on two-year probation after entering a guilty plea to trying identity theft in October 2024. Boebert was barred from using illicit substances and had to perform 80 hours of volunteer work as part of his probation, according to Westword. Tyler Boebert is expected to appear in Weld County Court regarding the child abuse complaint on September 8.
