Man Utd make final decision on Bryan Mbeumo transfer after staggering demands
Manchester United have seen their opening bid for Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo rejected but they have agreed to pay his huge wages should they agree on a transfer fee Manchester United are prepared to meet Bryan Mbeumo 's mega wage demands if they are able to agree on a fee with Brentford - who rejected the opening offer from the Red Devils. The Bees are holding out for £60million and have turned down the opening package which added up to £55m - £45m of which was up front with the extras in bonuses. One issue that has been finalised is United's willingness to pay Mbeumo's £250,000-a-week wages, reports talkSPORT. Those at Old Trafford are prepared to stump up a huge salary to get the Cameroon international to the club - which would see the player earn five times his current wage. United have previously made huge blunders when agreeing to pay players mammoth salaries - but that doesn't seem to have put them off. Interest in Mbeumo comes after he delivered his most prolific season to date. He played in every Premier League match - which saw him come up with 20 goals and seven assists - and Brentford believe this summer is the right time to cash in. The frontman is about to enter the final 12 months of his deal and the Bees can bank a huge profit on a player they signed back when they were in the Championship. The west London side look ready to dig their heels in though as they demand their £60m asking price. It leaves United with a decision to make should they want Mbeumo. They've already spent £62.5m on Matheus Cunha but have made bolstering their frontline a priority. They've just missed out on Liam Delap, who chose Chelsea over Manchester, but have continued to pursue other targets. Mbeumo's skillset is likely to suit the 3-4-3 system implemented by Ruben Amorim, who needs new recruits if he is to be a success at Old Trafford. Newcastle have a well known interest in the Brentford frontman but those in Manchester have acted to try and get a deal over the line with Brentford consistently showing they will sell their top stars for the right fee. Doing so with Ivan Toney last summer. Manager Thomas Frank conceded that Mbeumo had admirers and his departure was possible if the right fee was tabled. "I can definitely understand the interest in him," he said. 'There should be interest in him. He is at his best age, he has scored 20 goals. I would like to keep him, but we are a selling club so if someone comes in with the right price.'

Greg Taylor cover broken amid Celtic transfer wait as Kvistgaarden emphatic amid £7.5m payday roadblock
It's set to be a blockbuster transfer window for the champions - and moves are already underway PAOK technical director Christos Karipidis has lifted the lid on talks with Greg Taylor. The Celtic left-back is weighing up his options ahead of his current Parkhead deal expiring this month - with Brendan Rodgers previously stating he is keen to keep the Scotland cap and see him battle it out with Kieran Tierney. But with the 27-year-old arriving from Arsenal, Taylor will see his status as first-choice left-back come under major scrutiny. PAOK have been strongly linked with the 27-year-old as they prepare for their Europa League campaign - and are said to have offered two year contract with the option of a third that will trump his current Celtic salary. Taylor is currently in Dubai with his family on holiday following the end of the double-winning season and speaking to Greek outlet Alpha, Karipidis appeared confident over an agreement. When asked about Taylor, he said: "We are simply awaiting the formal part." In terms of arrivals, Celtic are weighing up a blockbuster £12m bid for the Brondby star Mathias Kvistgaarden who is rated as one of the hottest properties in the Superliga. He has been called up to the Denmark national side for the first time amid rocketing interest from Eintracht Frankfurt and the Hoops - who have long been admirers of the 23-year-old. Before the end of the Danish season, the forward expressed he was ready to leave Brondby this summer. Speaking to TV 2 Sport after his first call-up he said: "I think I'm ready. I've made my mark at Brondby and in the Superliga, so I'm ready to take the next step." The club are also looking to offload fringe men - and despite Olympiacos will not pick up the £3.5million option-to-buy in Luis Palma 's loan El Heraldo report that the player's representatives are looking for "a route out of Celtic" permanently this summer. Gustaf Lagerbielke's permanent exit could also land the club a windfall - but FC Twente won't bring in the Swede long-term with a £3million option-to-buy with VI reporting there is a "good chance" he will return to Glasgow. Man United's hunt for Mbeumo heats up
Manchester United 's initial £45m bid for Brentford 's Bryan Mbeumo, with a further £10m in add-ons, has been rejected. Brentford values Mbeumo at over £60m and may extend his contract by an additional year to retain him. Thomas Frank has acknowledged that Mbeumo's sale is possible but would be "expensive". Mbeumo is attractive to United due to his Premier League experience, versatility across the forward line, and strong fitness record. Manchester United aims to bolster their attacking options following the expected departures of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony and are also targeting a goalkeeper, wing-back, and midfielder.
