Wife's reaction says it all as Djokovic incident sends shivvers through Wimbledon
But the seven-time champion suffered a frightening late fall on the Centre Court grass that saw him scream in pain and left him sprawled out behind the baseline. The sickening scenes came while Djokovic held a second match point, having come back from dropping the opening set to stand on the cusp of victory.
Cobolli was trying desperately to stay in the contest and his shot from the opposite baseline wrong-footed Djokovic, who stretched to try and retrieve the ball but ended up doing the splits. The 38-year-old let out an audible scream, before ending up lying face-down on the grass as Cobolli and chair umpire Eva Asderaki-Moore both came over to check on the stricken Serb.
Thankfully, the 24-time major winner was able to gingerly get back to his feet, before winning the next two points to book a place in his 14th Wimbledon grand slam semi-final. That sees the 38-year-old surpass Roger Federer's record of 13 appearances in the last-four and makes him the oldest men's semi-finalist since Aussie tennis legend Ken Rosewall in 1974.
Djokovic admitted afterwards that his trademark slides can be risky on the Wimbledon grass but was hopeful he'd avoided any significant injury before his semi-final clash with Sinner. "It was a nasty slip and that's what happens when you play on the grass. You expect to fall with the way I move and slide on the grass," said Djokovic.
"It came at an awkward moment but I managed to close it out. I will visit this subject with my physio and hopefully it will be fine in two days." But he later admitted in his post-match press conference: 'Obviously (my) body is not the same today like it was before, so I guess the real impact or effect of what happened, I will feel tomorrow. So let's see."

Djokovic's victory keeps his quest for a record 25th grand slam title alive and sets up a mouthwatering semi-final clash with World No.1 Sinner, who beat American 10th seed Ben Shelton 7-6 (7-2) 6-4 6-4 in their last-eight clash. It will be the 10th time Djokovic and Sinner have faced off, with the Italian holding a 5-4 career record over Djokovic.

The Serb has won their only two previous matches at Wimbledon though, beating Sinner in the semi-finals in 2023 and the quarter-finals in 2022. Sinner was fortunate to progress to the quarters after trailing Grigor Dimitrov by two-sets-to-love in their last-16 clash before the Bulgarian had to retire with a torn pec in heartbreaking scenes.
Sinner also injured his elbow in a fall during that match and was sporting a white sleeve on his racquet arm to protect it during the quarter-final win over Shelton. There was a brief moment of concern for the Italian when he clutched at the elbow after trying to return a booming serve from the American, but it was an otherwise ruthless straight-set victory for the three-time major winner.
"When you are in a match with a lot of tension, you try to not think about it," said Sinner, who has reached his fourth straight grand slam semi-final. "It has improved a lot from yesterday to today." The winner of Sinner's semi-final with Djokovic will play either two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz or American fifth seed Taylor Fritz in the Wimbledon final.

Matthew McConaughey Goes Viral After His Wimbledon Gesture To The Prince And Princess Of Wales
is earning royal praise, quite literally, after a sweet and respectful gesture toward the Prince and Princess of Wales at this year's Wimbledon final went viral. The "Dallas Buyers Club" star was spotted in the star-studded Royal Box on Sunday as he watched Jannik Sinner defeat Carlos Alcaraz for the championship title. But it wasn't just the match that caught the internet's attention. It was Matthew McConaughey's old-school manners that stole the show. In now-viral footage shared on X (formerly Twitter), the "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days" star was seen rising from his seat in the royal box as and arrived. Though not obligated by royal protocol, as Americans aren't required to bow or curtsy, Matthew McConaughey chose to stand in a show of respect, quietly honoring their presence. The internet was quick to take notice. "Matthew McConaughey standing to applaud the Prince & Princess of Wales. What a lovely southern gentleman," one user wrote. Others chimed in with praise like, "Real class," 'He's a gentleman,' and 'Matthew was raised right. Always something I have always admired.' The "We Are Marshall" actor attended the match alongside his wife, , and was seen greeting fellow VIPs, including tennis legend Andre Agassi, with his signature warmth and ease. The final day of Wimbledon wasn't just star-studded, it was royally charming. In a delightful surprise, Prince George and Princess Charlotte joined their parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, at Centre Court to watch the men's singles final between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. The family of four made quite the coordinated entrance, all donning shades of blue for the special occasion. Prince George, who turns 12 later this month, matched his father in a dapper navy suit and tie, while Princess Charlotte looked picture-perfect in a soft blue summer dress and matching hair bow that complemented her mom's chic ensemble. Princess Kate, who also attended the women's final the day before, stunned in her own summery look as she returned for the tournament's grand finale. Although the Royal Box is usually reserved for adult guests due to its limited 74-seat capacity, special exceptions are made for royal children, and Prince George and Princess Charlotte are no strangers to Wimbledon. Both have attended before, while their younger brother, Prince Louis, 7, has yet to make his debut. Also spotted in the crowd was King Felipe of Spain, in attendance to cheer on his countryman, Carlos Alcaraz Despite announcing her cancer was in remission earlier this year, Kate Middleton continues to gracefully navigate a delicate balance between public royal duties and private healing. In a heartfelt moment during her July 2 visit to Colchester Hospital, the Princess of Wales opened up about the emotional aftermath of cancer treatment, a phase she says has been more challenging than most realize. "You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment. Treatment's done, then it's like, 'I can crack on, get back to normal,'' she shared while speaking with staff and patients. 'But actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult." The 42-year-old royal, who revealed her diagnosis in March and shared news of her remission in June, has become a quiet source of strength and inspiration as she slowly returns to the spotlight. "You have to find your new normal and that takes time... and it's a rollercoaster, it's not smooth like you expect it to be,' she continued. 'But the reality is you go through hard times." Wimbledon has always been a hotspot for A-listers, and this year has been no different. Over the course of the tournament, celebrities like , , and have all made headlines with their appearances in the stands. But it was Matthew McConaughey's southern charm that truly stood out during the final. Amid a sea of glamorous outfits and Hollywood smiles, McConaughey reminded fans that real class is timeless.

Prince Louis' Wimbledon Debut Might Be the Sweetest Royal Surprise of the Summer
The royal family and Wimbledon go hand in hand, thanks to Kate Middleton's patronage of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. The Princess of Wales has shared her love for the sport with Prince George, 11, and Princess Charlotte, 10, in recent years, but it has us wondering about Prince Louis, 7. The youngest child in Prince William and Kate's family has always been a showstopper. He's wild and free-spirited — a quality we love about him. But does his personality fit within Wimbledon's very traditional structure? Kate hasn't been at Wimbledon yet this season, but we can take a look at Louis' older siblings and gather what mom might be thinking. More from SheKnows Brooks Nader's Wimbledon Whites Were a Serve - Until a Period Plot Twist Stole the Show Both Prince George and Princess Charlotte were eight years old when they attended their first match at the esteemed club. In 2022, royal fans witnessed George watched Novak Djokovic defeat Nick Kyrgios in the men's singles final with William and Kate. He looked sharply dressed, wearing a navy blue suit, a white shirt and a matching tie. Dad appeared to be pointing out the rules of the game and George smiled broadly throughout the match. In July 2023, it was Charlotte's turn to make her debut and George made sure to take his younger sister under his wing. She sported a sweet, blue-and-white floral dress to watch Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic in the men's singles final. The young royal made herself at home, casually leaning back to stretch with her arms behind her head and wearing a pair of very cool pink sunglasses. Being the total pro that she is, Charlotte also made sure to wave to the fans in the crowd. So, it's likely that Kate and William will wait one more year until Prince Louis makes his first Wimbledon appearance, and it's sure to be an eventful time in the stands. Jo Frost, aka the Supernanny, described the youngest royal as 'a highly sensitive person' after he blew out Charlotte's candle during the Together at Christmas concert in December 2023. 'He is elevated by high energy experiences and can sometimes get excited beyond the point that his behavior may be unpredictable,' she explained to Hello! while sharing high praise for William and Kate's parenting skills. 'His parents navigate their son's behavior in public settings, they balance room, holding space for Prince Louis to be himself emotionally, whilst instilling the importance of social conduct in public settings and I believe this should be recognized and complemented as many families do the same in life.' So, we will patiently wait for Prince Louis' Wimbledon debut in 2026 or later, unless Kate and William give royal fans a surprise this of SheKnows AP Scores Just Came Out — Here's What to Do If Your Teen's Upset About Theirs Celebrate Freedom With These Perfectly-Patriotic Americana Baby Names July 4th Printable Coloring Pages to Keep Kids Busy All Day
