Cancelled trains and crowded carriages expected after travel warning
Great Western Railway (GWR) has announced fewer trains will run on multiple routes across its network due to crew availability on Sunday, July 27.
Services between Westbury and Portsmouth or Weymouth are likely to be impacted by this disruption.
Some services are expected to be cancelled at short notice and those that run will be busier than usual.
Limited rail replacement services will run where possible to support trains along the route.
Other lines likely to be affected include between Bristol Temple Meads and Gloucester, Bristol Temple Meads and Taunton, Reading and Gatwick, and Reading and Basingstoke.

GWR advised passengers to check their journeys before travelling on Sunday.
A spokesperson added: 'We're sorry for the impact this will have on your journey.
'Because of the late-notice changes, and the complexity of updating timetable systems, journey planners will not show changes correctly before Sunday morning.
'If you have already bought tickets and choose not to travel you can claim a full refund at GWR.com/refunds (subject to the terms and conditions of the ticket type).
'Your comfort and safety are our priority. Please check live updates before setting off.'

A Tui flight has landed on a burst tyre at East Midlands airport causing a series of delays and diversions as the aircraft was unable to be immediately moved. Flight BY7113 departed from Birmingham airport on Monday but was diverted mid-air after the punctured tyre was identified. The plane landed at the Leicestershire terminal. All passengers were evacuated, but the aircraft continued to block the runway. A spokesperson for East Midlands airport told The Independent: 'We accepted a diverted TUI aircraft this afternoon that was due to land at Birmingham Airport, after it declared an emergency with a punctured tyre. 'It landed safely and several procedures were carried out to ensure the safety of all passengers on board before they were disembarked and taken to Birmingham Airport by coach. 'Our runway is now fully operational but the incident prevented other aircraft from taking off or landing on our runway for around two hours. This led to seven inbound flight diversions and five outbound delays. 'We apologise for any inconvenience caused and continue to advise passengers to contact their airline for the latest updates.' A statement published to social media by East Midlands airport at 2.28pm noted that it had accepted the diverted Tui aircraft from Birmingham Airport. 'Any chance you could announce this in the airport?' wrote another. 'Bizarre I have to find this out hunting on Twitter when my flight is affected.' In a second social media post shared at 3.58pm, East Midlands said: 'Following an earlier aircraft incident, our runway is now fully operational. 'We advise checking with your airline for up-to-date information concerning your flight.' However, one social media user commented at 4.57pm: 'My gf [girlfriend] had landed at East Midlands and is just waiting on the tarmac waiting to be let in to arrivals. Apparently no security staff there. What's going on?'

Notable absentee: UEFA's president wasn't seen at the Women's Euro 2025 for most of the tournament
BASEL, Switzerland (AP) — While stadiums were packed at the Women's European Championship in Switzerland, one notable figure was missing for most the tournament: UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin. Ceferin was present at the opening ceremony match between Switzerland and Norway on July 2 and at Sunday's final between England and Spain but wasn't seen at any games in between. Ceferin's absence at UEFA's main event for women — held every four years — was a subject of private chatter among soccer officials at an event that broke attendance records and delivered exhilarating matches. 'Pity he hasn't shown up,' one soccer official told The Associated Press. 'He's missing the best football of the year.' The official spoke on condition of anonymity because criticizing the UEFA president is a delicate matter. Stakeholders rarely publicly criticize elected leaders of international sports bodies who hold sway over decisions to pick host cities and countries for competitions and can influence future elections. After Ceferin's absence became clear during the group stage, UEFA did not respond to multiple requests for details about his whereabouts. UEFA confirmed this week that Ceferin had spent at least part of the time on vacation in Croatia, at the island of Korcula in the Adriatic Sea. Though he pledged after his most recent win to leave office in 2027, he seems to have support from enough of UEFA's 55 member federations to stand again. On that election day in February 2023 in Paris, UEFA members also clarified its rules on term limits for elected officials. Football comes home: Jubilant fans greet Lionesses on return to England
The Lionesses have returned to the UK after triumphing at the Euros, as hundreds of jubilant fans waited to greet the team. The team landed back in the country on Monday afternoon after defending their Euros title in a penalty shootout win over Spain in Basel, Switzerland, on Sunday. Supporters, many of whom were dressed in England kits and holding flags, cheered as they waited outside Southend Airport in Essex to greet the Lionesses. Among them were twins Poppy and Daisy Macdonald, 11, from Benfleet, Essex, who were holding a sign asking for a photo with star striker Alessia Russo. Poppy said: 'We're so proud. They've won it two times in a row and they've worked so hard for it. 'They've had a lot of injuries and setbacks but they've done really well.' Daisy admitted she struggled to watch the penalty shootout, adding: 'I couldn't watch, I was very nervous, but very happy that they won.' In a post on X, the team shared a photo of the Euros trophy draped in an England flag on a seat on the plane. The team will be welcomed to a celebratory reception at Downing Street later on Monday, hosted by Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner and sports minister Stephanie Peacock. Reggie belongs to Cheals on Wheels, a barista company that travelled with the team to the tournament. Posting on Instagram, the company wrote that Reggie had 'gone international' and was 'soaking up all the love (and sneaky treats) from the team' in Switzerland. After the game, the King said the team had the royal family's 'warmest appreciation and admiration' in a post on X, adding: 'The next task is to bring home the World Cup in 2027 if you possibly can'. A trip to Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle may be on the cards for the winning squad as it is understood possible plans for a reception in the autumn are being explored by royal aides. To celebrate the win, the Royal Mail will mark the occasion with a congratulatory postmark – which will be applied to stamped mail across the UK from Monday to Friday.
